“Life belongs to the living”
Goodbye the the Penumbra podcast! It was a really sweet finale! (Quote is from season 5, episode 24)
my tpp ramblings below the cut
And I wasn’t going to die this angry.
Shut up shut up shut up Kabert I'm in denial of the finale but JUNO LONG HAIR PONYTALE CANON CONFIRMED???
everyone should listen to the penumbra podcast. what a masterclass in character narrative. im going to blow a building up. but not myself. because being alive is an impossible and thankless task however continuing to live is also beautiful and also still intrinsically worth living for. <- said in the tone of someone who needs to eat rocks imminently
something about juno steel is that he will never NOT have some freaky telepathic alien link going on
this is my Roman Empire
I'll never stop thinking about it
irritability as a main symptom and manifestation of juno's depression is so so important to me because that's one of my biggest symptoms of depression. and it's just so. when you feel yourself getting mad at everyone over every little thing. when juno throws away rita's monitor because he's mad at her for not doing any work even though he knows there isn't any work to do. when he snaps at everyone around him. when he yells at mick so much he almost gets them kicked out of the bar. i feel like that's not a commonly portrayed aspect of depression and i just love that it's very prevalent in juno.
there's an episode of malcolm in the middle where he just shuts up and stops complaining for awhile and it immediately starts to significantly improve his life but also it causes him an ulcer and by the end of the episode he is literally spitting up blood and i have always deeply and unshakably believed that is exactly how the situation would play out for me too
juno steel-core
AND ANOTHER THING Juno has made it very clear in his flashbacks that he is an unreliable narrator because of the amount of stress he’s under, and future Juno hasn’t said anything to imply that diamond betrayed him in any way, so even if diamond is suspicious rn there’s a good chance that she’s not a secret bad guy or whatever
In man of the future around 12:27 Rita says “Diamond was gone before you left the HCPD” so like,,, whatever Juno is blaming on himself may have started before he made this giant mistake he keeps talking about
The way Juno was so open about how much he cared about diamond and didn’t hesitate to tell her “I love you” and the fact that he’s never actually used the word love for Nureyev I’m weeping
Even if diamond ends up being betraying Juno in some way, I’m really happy with the decision not to make her abusive like a lot of fans have headcanoned/speculated about. Juno deserves like, at least one decent person from his past
