Sure! I'm not sure how non-depressing you want them, so I've played it safe and picked out ten fiction podcasts that I've found good pick-me-ups:

Absolutely No Adventures: (fantasy) A young baker is the chosen one of about a dozen prophecies. He's happy to help out, on the condition that he will be going on absolutely no adventures.

Community Cat News: (Comedy) A radio show by cats, for cats

The Far Meridian: (Slipstream/magical realism) An agorophobic young woman wakes up to find her lighthouse home has moved somewhere completely new overnight. As it continues to travel, she uses the opportunity to look for her missing brother.

Middle:Below: (Supernatural/ Urban Fantasy) Two humans, a ghost, and a cat go on various adventures together to fix ghostly problems.

Sidequesting: (fantasy, adventure, all-ages) Rion is an adventurer like no other: they only do side quests! A wholesome show about avoiding the plot

Stories From Ylemore: (Fantasy, all-ages) In a modern magical world, three kids (a witch, a werewolf, and a curse-bearer) go on adventures together and make a podcast about it.

The Vesta Clinic: (Sci-fi) Patient records from an interspecies walk-in doctor's clinic on the edge of human space.

Wizard Seeking Wizard: (Comedy, fantasy, romance) A dating show for wizards, hosted by a match-mage to pass the time after being trapped in an orb by his apprentice. Every episode, hear from four wizards looking to go on a romance, friendship, rivalry, or collaborator date, and then next episode hear from the two that got paired up about how their date went.

If you like any specific genres of media or are looking for anything specific, let me know! I've played it pretty safe and might be able to tailor some more recs a little better.

More works need to take a lesson from The Silt Verses and include a whole episode of shmoopy cozy romance and then have those characters die badly and then look the audience square in the face and ask “Why does this feel so much more tragic to you than other characters’ previous deaths? Why do you assume having a romantic partner makes someone more deserving of a happy ending?”

And also the aromantic protagonist is having an enemies-to-friends arc with an ex cop turned anti sacrifice cultist by arguing about misremembered song lyrics in the background

to my audio drama mutuals: does anyone have a recommendation of a short audio drama that someone could listen to in a day or so? I really want to get back into audio drama but all of my favourite shows are quite long and with a lot of them I kind of need to relisten to parts before I catch up and I think this is making me procrastinate getting back into them. I think if there was something that I could listen to quickly I’d get reinvested in the form and feel more motivated to catch up on my favourite shows if that makes sense. Really any genre is fine just as long as it’s shortish and it’s something you really like.

roughly in order of duration:

Paddleboat - existential experimental microfiction (12 episodes, ~25 mins)

Generation Crossing - scifi album that made me sob uncontrollably 😁 (~1h 40mins)

The Goblet Wire - extremely cool surreal microfiction (~2h)

Land's End: A Shepherd's Tale - vv cool short folk horror with scary sheep and gay people (5 episodes, ~2h)

The Tower - reflective & gorgeous & strange, 3 short seasons all of extremely manageable length & then a 2-part finale that ripped me apart <3 (~4 and a half hours altogether but you dont need to listen all at once)

Camlann - i actually feel like you might have heard this one before? if not i think it's up your alley. really cool mythological post-apocalypse fantasy w really gorgeously real-feeling characters (~4h 20mins)

SINKHOLE - cool weird fiction w/ unique framing device & world (2 seasons, ~5h altogether)

Conversations With Ghosts - pretty much what it sounds like lol. it's about 6 and a half hours altogether but the episodes are a v digestible length & i think knowing you like Remnants this might be a good pick for you thematically :)

for individual episodes i will also put forth The Cryptonaturalist, which in the past has been one of my go-to shows when i've been in a listening slump. episodes are about 20 mins and don't require you to follow an overarching plot it has a lovely overall feeling of wonder and weirdness and nature :) and also features a poetry interlude each episode. helps me get back in a podcast-friendly frame of mind
