I get so overwhelmed whenever I get an iTunes gift card
Like what music do I deem worthy enough to legally purchase?
I'm only "reblogging" this to say - ALL FUCKING MUSIC! You deem all the fucking music you listen to, AND WANT TO OWN, worthy enough to purchase legally. Even though we like to believe artists are well compensated for their work they still deserve the respect of people BUYING THEIR SHIT LEGALLY! And seriously...the people you are really hurting by being too selfish (cheap) to shell out $2 for a song you really want ARE THE MANY OTHER PEOPLE INVOLVED IN MAKING THIS ITEM FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT. and holy shit people, THEY DESERVE TO BE PAID FOR THEIR WORK.

"when I thought it was appropriate it wasn't.
and when I thought it wasn't, it was.
now the thought of reaching out is stifling."
our lives
we are very amused with ourselves. almost in awe with who we are. even when we "hate" ourselves (some of us purely, others less so.) we seemingly love to broadcast every aspect of our lives...for validation I suppose. or maybe it's because we have masturbatory minds.
we are consumed with our own being.
we have this site, twitter, facebook, and instagram. vine, youtube, personal blog sites, and new social sites popping up all the time with millions of users flocking to them so we can tell others how wonderful things are, or how fucking terrible they are. it doesn't really matter as long as our voice is heard by someone.
and when it's not we assume we've done something wrong and that we're worthless because we are grooming ourselves to believe that if we are not getting attention online, in a forum that does NOT equate to real life, somehow our minds tell us that our real life is now less relevant. negated.
maybe we're all staring in to the pond...but instead of already being in love with ourselves, we're trying to figure out how to love ourselves.
Friends
I've always been more of a Monica/Courtney Cox girl myself. She's absolutely gorgeous.
Watching Friends usually brings out the Rachael/Jen Aniston appreciaters and I just want to clarify that there are people who love Courtney Cox!
CHADAM
Does anyone remember when The Used were involved with that Chadam story? The guy with the box head in a very strange world? Am I too old for all you damn kids on this site? I was flipping through old journals and shit and I came across a lot of bands/writing from my super angst-y high school days.
Dark Horse
I want to know SOOO badly if all the people who like the new Dark Horse song are aware of who Jeffrey Dahmer was?
I know that other artists have employed the use of infamous people or events in their lyrics, but I typically think the folks that regularly listen to those genres tend to be more aware of/or often research the people in the songs.
In my opinion pop is not a genre that offers a lot in the way of lyrics. Pop artists may challenge social norms through imagery, but lyrically we rarely get anything deep. With other styles - alternative/indie/metal*/rap* the listener may be more challenged to question their surroundings and get involved. Through conversations with other individuals I've found that people listening to genres outside of pop will dive deeper into the lyrics to find the story or the history so that there is additional understanding of the song.
Now name dropping Jeffrey Dahmer is not challenging societal norms, setting up awareness for the listener, or adding to the song, it's simply a sensational tactic. Albeit, a surprising one to me, given the target is the mainstream radio listener.
*I think metal and rap sometimes use the lyrics in a solid and conscious manner, that is why I listed them, however I find that within those two styles songs may quickly devolve into mentioning atrocious people, activities, historic events for sensationalism and promotion.
I don't know if this sounds like a rant? If so that was not the intention, just purely curious and desiring opinions besides my own.
I’m crying. This is a legit thing in the Terms of Service.
The Terms of Service was a hilarious read riddled with salty words. Loved it.
I have my first "grown-up" interview today. I am super excited about this position but also completely terrified of this interview portion....I think I have to poop.

Every time I see a new one of these articles all I can think is "Seriously? Fuck off...I shall wear and do as I damn well please." Thankfully this wonderful woman has put it more eloquently than I ever could.

Honey
I've been feeling better than usual lately and I am soooooo okay with that! A cherry on top of pretty great few days was seeing Andrea Gibson last night. Perfect.
There were also a lot of unique and gorgeous gay women there (which I was hoping for, lesbehonest ;) Yay for stepping out for some gayventures! I even had the courage to chat up a few AND I got a compliment on my shirt.
It's a powerful feeling when after 23 years of living - though I only really count the ages of 12+ when you really start to grasp what life/mortality mean, which is probably different for all people - sorry for that tangent, now back to the point, the feeling of finally gaining confidence in who you are and FINALLY being comfortable in your body AND your mind is one of the most intensely marvelous feelings I have ever had. And all I hope is that this sunny disposition sticks around because it kicks ass.
Now for the very few people who might actually read this do yourself a favor and go checkout "Honey" by Andrea Gibson and get some butterflies in your heart. And for the dog lovers "Squash."

my only feelings at this moment are tracy chapman. and that is enough.
