When Danny left the vigilante life to become a paramedic in Gotham he didn't think he'd ever step back into that scene. Much less in this way, because now Danny has Robin riding along with him in the ambulance every shift he's on. 

He didn't think Robin would even remember him after he had helped the kid take care of a hurt and sick kitten at the end of his shift. How wrong he was though because the next night Robin was suddenly in the ambulance saying that he would be shadowing Danny from this point forward. Danny's coworkers were also no help in getting the kid to not do this. 

Robin called this an intern opportunity to learn more about medicine and how to treat people. Danny called it a HIPPA violation. What he thought doesn't seem to matter though as everyone is always just excited to talk to the kid. He ultimately decides to just let it go and be the unwilling mentor to the young vigilante. 

It really isn't until Danny is being cornered after one of his shifts by Batman demanding to know what he's doing to Robin that he wished he had fought harder to convince Robin to not ride along.

"I dunno if I want to share a name with you...but I don’t know what name I would even pick..." Dani admitted softly, almost nervously as she looked up at her template.

Danny’s expression was confused rather than hurt or angry however, "What do you mean? You do have your own name."

Dani gave him an unimpressed look, "Daniel and Danielle are basically the same dude."

Danny’s confusion only increased for a moment before realization seemed to strike then fall into annoyance, "Look, Vlad is a prideful idiot that thinks he knows everything; my name is not Daniel."

It was Dani's turn for confusion, "Wait, it really isn't Daniel? Then what is it?"

Danny sighed heavily and grimaced, "You can never tell anyone. But my name is Dandelion."

Dani became utterly delighted, "Dandelion!?"

Danny groaned and rolled his eyes while Dani cackled. Maybe her name wasn’t so bad after all.

Tim: Hey, Dick, what's my surname?

Dick: Drake?

Tim: No, I mean as Robin. I have to fill out these forms for a new hero team but it won't let me submit it without a surname and they don’t know who I really am yet so...

Dick: Oh, it's Knight. That's actually Bruce sanctioned.

Tim: He agreed to it?

Dick: Not exactly. He had to full name me in the field once in front of Lex Luthor and said 'Robin the Boy Wonder Knight, if you do not get down from there this instant...'

Tim: Does he use it?

Dick: I think so. After I started using it. He's sentimental like that.

Tim: And it has nothing to do withthe fact that it means he can write alias: Batman, forename: The Dark?

Danny "No survival instincts" Fenton winds up a student at Gotham Academy due to Vlad's shenanigans. Due to not having what others consider survival instincts, he winds up making friends with a Damian still in his stabby phase and mouthing off at villains who attack the school. "Fenton, is that a knife in your shoulder?" the teacher asks. Danny laughs, pulls it out "It's just one of those trick knives, it's all good." he says as his healing factor closes the injury he failed to notice. Damian grumbles.

"Is that blood?" the teacher asks. Danny runs his finger through what is absolutely blood, lick it, "Nope, ketchup." Damian wonders why this guy is like this.

Cue Ras trying to kidnap Danny to get some leverage on Vlad. Vlad couldn't stop giggling when he got the threat delivered and then went to watch the event while invisible and eating popcorn.

this genuinely makes me so mad. some of you really don’t deserve fanfics. at all.

comment like this, besides the ai witch hunt, is one of the reasons why fanfic writers don’t want to post their fics anymore.

we write for free. whenever we can. whenever we have time. whenever we’re not too exhausted by life and responsibilities. we write for our own enjoyment. as a hobby. not a job. we update whenever we can. whenever we want. we do not owe anybody anything.

one of my favorite fics was updated after literal 13 years. but the point is that fanfic writers do not owe you anything. whether a fic was abandoned forever or updated after a decade or two is not something you as a stranger has a say in.

stop being entitled. stop treating fanfic writer as a content farm or a machine that produces contents for your enjoyment.

we’re not your employees. we’re not your slaves. we’re kind enough to share what we write for our own enjoyment with you for free. so either respect and appreciate us or be quiet.

Story where the main character has a sibling they're really close to, doing normal sibling things and just very occasionally doing something a little bit unusual. Not much attention on the sibling, they're a typical side character.

Only pretty late, when the plot is in full swing and it's not even the first book/season/whatever anymore, we learn their backstory, that they even have one. The sibling is actually a fae the main character picked up as a kid, like they met and the fae tried to trick the mc but they didn't fall for it and somehow got a wish out of it and they wanted a sibling and were like "can you be my brother/sister?" and the fae was like "you know what? i like you, why not. sure, let's do this". So then the mc had a sibling and to everyone else, always had had. Noone ever noticed anything, the fae is really good at pretending to be human and hiding all their shenanigans.

When a halfa gets killed in human form, they die, falling into ghost form, but the human form is preserved as usual when they're in ghost form since they're always dead then. They're stuck as ghosts, unable to reach their human form while they're healing until their body is able to support life again.

When it happened the first time to Danny, he panicked, thinking he had full-died and was a full ghost now. He had a bit of a breakdown and disappeared for a few days until he woke up from an exhaustion-nap back to human. Those days were filled with a few too many existential crises, but he's come to term with his potential immortality and is just glad he's still half-alive.

Dani: Hi!

Damian: *tied up, and words muffled*

Dani: Awe, missing Papa? Missing rich daddy? That's okay, he knows you're here with me. *turns on a large screen, showing a video of Bruce and Dick*

Bruce: I don't know, we just got this in the mail and- Oh my god, Damian?! Damian are you okay?

Dani: Nobody ever asked me how I'm doing.

Dick: Let him go!

Dani: Okay, but first give me control over Wayne Enterprises for a bit.

Bruce: What? No way!

Dani: Aww

Bruce: Now tell me where-

Dani: *turns off the screen* Danny can you believe- Whu- Danny! You're always on that phone Danny!

Danny: *not looking up* I'm booking my vacation.

Dani: *floats over to lean over his shoulder* Oooo where are we going-

Danny: No.

Damian: *starts wiggling towards the remote and turns on the screen again*

Dani: Is there gonna be Dolphins? Cause I kinda have beef to settle with those bastards.

Bruce: Damian! Tell me where you are!

Dani: *holds a knife towards Damian* Ah ah ah! Careful! You know I've killed more people by mistake than intentionally.

Damian: *starts blinking in intervals*

Dani: You blink weird.

Danny: *still not looking up* That's Morse Code.

Dani: Oh wow, thats so cool! Oh wait no! Hey hey hey-

Bruce: I know where he is, let's go there's no time to waste!

Batman, and Nightwing: *carefully sneak throw Dani's hideout*

Damian: *sitting with his back turned towards the door*

Batman: Oh my God, Damian are you okay-

*door shuts behind them as the hideout goes into shut down mode*

Damian: *starts floating and turns around, revealing it's Dani, and she just had a wig on as she grins mischievously at Batman, and Nightwing*

Dani: Hi Dada~

Batman: Wheres Damian Wayne?

Dani: With Danny! He dies if I 'die'!

Danny: *at WE with Damian, he touches his ear peice* We're in.

Dani: Ooookay! Now defund Gino's Pizza!

Danny: Cause of the moist crust?

Dani: Yes because of the moist crust!

Batman: . . . What?

Damian: Can you also defund my school?

Dani: Hey! No! Damian, you're getting your education.

Damian: Damn it.

Danny: *clicks a button on a computer* Defunded.

Dani: HA! Suck on that Gino's!

Once Danny becomes Ghost King, all the ritual spells and guides automatically change from whatever Pariah Dark demanded to whatever ridiculous conditions--and name, if the ritual guide lists it--that Danny demands in order to summon the Ghost King.

Any magic doohickeys that remain to summon Pariah Dark suddenly go out of commission.

mmmm immortal jason but he doesn't figure it out until after he rejoins the batfamily. and he's also really fucking chill about it.

he figures out he's gonna Keep Coming Back no matter what when Alfred asks him to help clean the roof and while alone scrubbing out gutters he fucks up and falls off the ladder; completely snaps his neck.

he wakes up like twenty minutes later all healed and instead of freaking out, he decides that he's been through so much shit and his life is already so goddamn weird that honestly? so what if he can't die.

still concerns the fuck out of the rest of the family when jason wanders in a few hours later rubbing out the crick in his neck and when bruce asks how the roof went he goes "yeah, gutters clean. also i think i fixed death?"

"...jason what could that possibly mean." dick asks from across the room. jason shrugs.

"I dunno. fixed it."

he continues to make vague-ass uncaring comments that baffle the fuck out of everybody for the next few weeks, and they don't figure out what the hell he's talking about until one patrol they get into one of those tricky 'locked in a room and have to pick one of you to die' situations and jason just whistles, goes "man this would suck if i hadn't already fixed death," and then proceeds to shoot himself in the face in front of all the horrified bats.

he wakes up fifteen minutes later to bruce and dick having a shared panic attack on the floor, tim desperately trying to calm them down, and damian standing over him looking supremely disappointed as he goes "fucking 'fixed death' todd?? that's the only way you could think of phrasing it? i thought your special interest was fucking literacy."

in his defence he never got to finish high school.
