Isn't it strange how we sometimes get dreams of certain people we had parted long ago. we don't think about them any more, we have almost forgotten that they once existed in our lives. And then all of a sudden they appear in our dreams as if they never left, with that exact smile of theirs that use to warm up our heart. It's amazing how we still remember that smile, when in real we hadn't seen them for years.

some people just never leave us even after leaving.

Not really strangers

Now I am alone at home, I am sitting in the living room reading ;the door to the balcony is open, and through it the sunlight has flooded the room. There is a cupboard opposite to the balcony door and I can see the reflection of the coconut tree leaves outside on the glass panes of the cupboard door.

I like afternoons like these - quiet, bright warm yet with a mild breeze blowing in from the balcony.

From where I am sitting on the couch I can see the a portrait of my great grandfather hanging on the wall. It is a hand painted piece, probably oil on canvas. I have no idea who painted it, to be honest I think no one in my family knows ;but it's the only picture of him we have.

To think of it, he is my great grandfather, but I don't know anything about him. I don't even know his name. Maybe someone, someday told me his name or maybe no one ever told me. I don't remember now and I never bothered to ask either. He is a complete stranger to me, but we still share genes. Isn't that fascinating.

Now, as I look more carefully at the painting, I think his eyes are bit similar to mine or rather I should say my eyes seem a bit similar to his. But then who knows if the painter truly captured his features accurately or not.

Maybe it is all tough only in my head

And much more easy in reality.

Everything comes at a cost. To gain something you have to give something up. Sacrifice is necessary to keep what you value. Nothing in this world is truly free-not even our existence. There is always a price to pay. People work hard for a good life, yet doing so,they often sacrifice their time and well being. It's ironic :when people have time they lack money; when they have money, they lack the luxury of time.

As a child, I believed failure was the end of the world, a definite halt to life's journey. There can be nothing beyond it.

But adulthood has reshaped my perspective. Setbacks are bound to hit us every now and then, but those failures doesn't kill us. Well at the moment it might feel like we may never get over it, but we do. Life persists, and we need to keep going with it. We have to live till we have life. Despite our fears, self doubts we have to wake up every morning and go by our day. When one door closes, we need to look for another one, but we have to keep going because life keeps on moving at its own pace, it waits for none.

I have always chosen, the difficult path deliberately because, I believed that only tough route led one to success. But realisation has struck me now, we can take easy path too, that will also lead us to a successful life.

If I had gotten what I want at once, I might not have got the chance to know about my toxic traits, my limiting believes, my inability to deal with failures. May this delay is for learning and improving.

Not every battle is yours to fight

Not every problem is yours to resolve

Stop taking the burden of emotions that are not yours to feel.

When things go haywire in life, it feels like our whole world is crashing down and nothing could ever get right now. Eventually some other door gets open, some other things get click, and we somehow come out of those difficult times. And it always happens and will always happen. But in those moments of vulnerability it becomes tough to look beyond the hardships. And after everything gets better then we realise, how we lose so much of our precious time just focusing on the negatives, ignoring the people, the love, the happiness around us.

This is a reminder, to be present in the moment, to acknowledge everything we have in the moment. Because before we know a lot of this will be gone forever.

I know I am not telling something new or different. But I know, there are people who need this reminder because I am one of them.

When we see our lives in relation to our past or future, it might get sad, depressing and a bit hard to digest.

But if we could calm down and experience life at exactly where we are, living gets lot more easier.

One day at a time

The sun will rise again

Shining on our face,

dancing in our eyes.

It will fill our heart with its light,

And will make us delight.

It may have set for today

But it will rise again for us

And we will witness it yet again

May not be where we thought we would

but in some different but better place

Yet it will rise again

As it always does.

Life does not unfold in big ways

Life happen in moments.

I don't know if, I am doing it right

Or is in the making of a big blunder

I will never know

No one ever knows

And that is life.

I cried the whole afternoon, then as the sun began to set, I got up from my bed, wipe my tears and tried to believe again everything is going to get better eventually.

As long as the moon is up there and even in those days when it is not visible but knowing that it is there and will again be up in the night sky, makes life a little better.

When it is time to keep calm and wait, you can do nothing but wait.
