i’m going to be really honest with you guys i think the tendency to read the absolute worst possible intentions into every action you don’t agree with is getting too automatic and it’s eating you from the inside out

Lately I find really hard to draw, I cant find any motivations to do it, my mind just goes blank whenever i try to draw since: how could i post or do something unrelated with this tragedy? Simply i couldn't i felt bad, guilty. But i have to post something so my socials dont die, so i wanted to do something related with venezuela, this was an image that really hit me the first time i saw it so i wanted to give it a little honor drawing it, its bad, ugly but i least i feel can help to do something, KEEP TALKING ABOUT VENEZUELA
Ultimamente me cuesta mucho dibujar, no hallo ninguna motivacion para hacerlo, mi mente queda en blanco cada que trato hacerlo porque: ¿Como podría simplemente postear o hacer algo no relacionado con esta tragedia? Simplemente no podía, me sentía mal, culpable.
There has been a joke in the Venezuelan community for years, which is "Whoever is playing Jumanji needs to finish the game asap" and we really need them to finish the game, like REALLY NEED IT.
An earthquake was NOT in my bingo card.
So, remember if you are going to donate, do it to someone trustworthy or give medicine or food, enough clothes have been donated, DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO ANY GOVERMENT BUT SPECIALLY THE VENEZUELAN GOVERMENT!!!!
Most of the help to get people out of the wreckrage has been other civilians or outside help.
And yes, I know the post is rather late, but I live in the miami area so girly has been volunteering.
Forgot to post this here…🧍
Recently watched all the movies over the last 1-2 months and fell in love with romione and the world of Hogwarts 🫶🏾

All of those people that suddenly had so much to say about Venezuela’s “democracy” over how Trump incarcerated their dictator a few months ago are now quiet over the two major earthquakes and the huge devastation it’s causing. How little their current regime is helping and how they are deliberately blocking aid from reaching out and stopping any help that does not align with their political party. This is aiming to become the biggest tragedy in South America. And this is mostly because for over 27 years Venezuela has been under a corrupt regime that stole the money and never invested in the country. Currently, there’s not machinery or tools in the country that can be used to take the people out of the fallen buildings. There’s not even a proper rescue team. There’s nothing available to help the people and the numbers of casualties will be horrific. It used to be “hands off Venezuela” but when it serves a political agenda against the US government and salivating over communist countries you’ve never been to. It was never about empathy and care for its people who has suffered enough already. I’ve not seen any of those activists that were so angry at Trump for “removing Venezuela’s president” and were so eager to protest for Maduro’s capture doing something to donate for the victims there.
Also, I can't help but be really disappointed and heartbroken with how little traction I had seen in donations/informative posts and the lack of trending tag, unlike the situation of Jan 3rd. This is probably one the biggest catastrophes of our recent history (+55,000 missing, 1,400 confirmed dead so far, 3,200 injured), and a lot of people who felt free to comment on our politics and explain our own situation to us are now silent in the face of this.
And listen, I don’t think people are obligated to post about social, political, or catastrophe issues in social media. I myself usually treat Tumblr as my little getaway escapist place. But if you are genuinely concerned about Venezuela, about Latinoamerica, if you were worried about what the future held for us, then this is the dark hour where you can help us by spreading the word and donating.
Because I've seen people rightly criticize selective empathy before: being outspoken when one tragedy or event happens, only to fall silent when another affects the same people they previously claimed to care about because it is not politically convenient anymore. I feel the same now. I think it shows not a commitment to the ending human suffering or concern for human rights and dignity, but rather a signaling that you belong to this or that ideological group.
TLDR: If you posted about Jan 3 because you cared about Venezuelans' lives, then be sure to donate a couple of dollars or repost a donation link now. https://www.gofundme.com/f/emergency-relief-for-venezuela-earthquake-victims

i honestly don't really understand why "some people prefer watching gameplay online rather than playing games themselves" is treated as such a taboo when being a spectator is considered a pretty mundane way to engage with most sports, game shows, reality tv or even just like. chess.

I know I should use my social platform (my 3 followers on tumblr) to tell everyone what is happening in Venezuela, but I feel so overwhelmed already that maybe, just maybe, can I have a place that is not filled with "the government is letting people die" as a treat?
Nope. Not really (Promise I won't become too annoying).
I can talk about all the shitty things that the government is doing. And about all the crappy things that I see trying to stay informed but, instead I'm asking if you can to donate, and if you can not donate to spread the world.
Caracas Chronicles has news in English in case you want more information and their first page is about donations to the organisations that are helping.
Making Venezuela make sense, fifteen years and counting.
Even the smallest contribution can help, even if it's just letting other people know about the links to donate in the far chance that they can.
Thank you for reading so far.
