Ah yes. How did Bennet get into this situation where the Knights of Favonius captured him and started interrogating him about nearby hilichurl camps? Especially by the very menacing Vice Captain. You, as his secretary, were looking at Lohen’s most prized knife very closely, seeing how faint brown stains never really washed off. How unhygienic, most would think, but you didn’t mind. After all, months of adapting to Lohen’s bloodthirsty desires certainly made you used to these things. You were always there to back him up, making up random thoughts & excuses to prevent him from being suspended. He’d never thank you verbally, but rather through actions. Lohen bringing you to a demolished hilichurl site where he “painted his love for you” with blood certainly traumatized you a bit.
Anyways, Bennet seemed frozen and numb with anxiousness. The atmosphere was thick for him, but to you, it just seemed another adventurer that owes something to Lohen.
“Oh Benny—remember when we first met? You’d asked why I had markings and rare colored eyes…ha. I was an “experiment” that failed, yes? And remember how you stated you’d let me follow you around and kill the creatures you attract with your bad luck…? You never did that because you were busy with your adventures…so I believe you owe me a lil somethin’, no?” Lohen teased, grinning suspiciously at Bennet. Poor Bennet, he didn’t deserve anything of this. He cowardly backed up into a corner, visibly shaking as cold sweat ran down his forehead and threatened to drip. “Lohen stop; you’re scaring him,” You cut in, standing up and walking toward him. Lohen didn’t turn around but only hovered above him, his blue/gray hair cascading down over his face a bit. Bennet’s eyes widened as he signaled you for his knife, but you clearly refused and pulled your stubborn and maniacal boyfriend back to prevent him from traumatizing Bennet. You rub your temples and sigh, apologizing to Bennet.
He shrugged and smiled, shoulders finally settling down.
“Well—I’m sorry about that. I shouldn’t have done that! I have time right now, if you want, we could go exploring Windrise?” Bennet said, a lot quieter than usual. Lohen’s attitude perked up even further, his smile stretching to his ears. You mutter “archons save my sanity” quiet enough not for Lohen to hear, and you instantly reacted as a light from the ceiling shattered and fell toward Bennet somehow. “BENNET! OUT OF MY WAY YOU BLUE HAIRED BI-“ You dash forward and push Bennet back, who was clearly in distress and shock. “AGH! I’M SO SORRY—“ Lohen suddenly laughed, cutting in between Bennet’s apology. Luckily, none of the pieces had injured anyone, and you pulled both of the boys’ wrists, dragging them out of the office and into the main corridor of HQ. “So it is true that you have horrible luck!” Lohen laughed, shoulders shaking as he didn’t care to suppress his laughter. You jabbed him in the rib, which only made him laugh harder. Bennet rubbed the back of his neck, apologizing endlessly for having bad luck. Lohen finally stopped laughing and reached his hand out to Bennet, as if offering something to him. Bennet hesitantly nodded, and started walking out with him.
“WELL! Then we ought to start killing—er, uh-I mean ‘exploring!’ I’d want to enjoy the experience as long as I can, wouldn’t I?” Lohen cheerfully told Bennet, hooking his arm around Bennet’s shoulder. You pinched your nose bridge and locked the office doors, making sure no one enters until you three return. “Dear Lord Barbatos, please protect my sanity & soul. And my dear friend Bennet’s. And my boyfriend Lohen, if he has any left,” You whispered before sprinting out to find where the duo went. You hoped Bennet wouldn’t be as traumatized. Key word: hoped.
Suddenly, a female voice screamed with terror. The sound sliced through the air, a raw, fearful, sound.
Your head instantly whipped toward the source of the sound. “Shit. Welp, I found them,” You mumbled, dashing toward the woman. “MADAM! MA’AM, can you hear me?” You asked, observing the woman whose eyes were widened larger than Paimon’s appetite. She had no injuries, you mentally noted, but she was looking at something, perhaps a commotion that shocked her so much she visibly froze with fear. “T-t-that…is h-he a kni-knight?” She stuttered, pointing at some people behind you. Definitely 100% Lohen & Bennet. All the way. You thought, turning around slowly. You’d found them, and your eyes vibrated a bit before concentrating on the scene.
Bennet was holding his head, shaking a lot. He seemed on the verge of tears as Lohen grinned. He held his polearm high, stabbing it into the ground and twisting it. Cryo and ice was immediately exposed as the ice surrounded everywhere and hundreds of hilichurls, mitachurls, and lawachurls were quickly stabbed through where their stomachs would be. Blood spurted out from their bodies, and the bodies soon turned a deep purple that rivaled bruises. “Awwww. You guys didn’t even last one attack! C’mon, that was equal to a warm up!” Lohen said. His tone conveyed that he was upset or sad, but his grin said something else. You narrowed your eyes and quickly attended to the murder. “LOHEN! Wha-why—no, how did you manage to get…never mind. Bennet, are you okay?” You asked, patting his back. Lohen crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. You glare at him, fighting the urge to kick him with your full strength (which once separated a Ruin Guard’s leg btw ✌️). Bennet groaned and clasped his hands together, sending a prayer before nearing Lohen. “Hmmm. You know what, I’ll use some of that healing concoction on my polearm & knife! My enemies can’t be ended too quickly or where’s the fun?” He wondered to himself, digging into his bag for the specific green substance he often used in fights when he was really energized.
“Sweetie, please stop traumatizing Bennet…” You spoke. Lohen laughed sharply at your request, and eyed you. “He was the one that offered to do it right now, remember?” He smiled, waving his knife around. You scoffed and hugged Bennet. “Hey. After this is done I’ll treat ya to dinner?” You offer, and Bennet’s eyes sparked up. “Oh, thank you!” Bennet responded (a bit too quick). But, the peace making didn’t last long as a whole herd charged toward Bennet, and he tripped over Lohen’s feet, grunting as pain hit him. “Ugh…” You took out your sword, readying up. Besides, who cared if Good Hunter suddenly got more meat? No one.
Lohen was fast to react as he dashed right into the mess. “Too bad they can’t fight back. Whatever!” He cheered, stabbing into the boars as the toxin flew everywhere. Lohen was reckless, yet still had pride that was unstoppable. You grasped your Pyro vision, ready to burn the commotion and set it to flames. “Hey Y/N! Can you give me a support-?” Lohen suggested, slashing through the thick layers and cryo constantly formed and struck through the animals. Ice froze their nervous systems as he sliced through, being everywhere on the scene. You nodded but quickly reconsidered your decisions. Jean would kill you for this, but what would this hurt? These boars would’ve overridden the nearby markets & stalls anyways. Lohen laughed loudly, clearly taking the joy of the battle. You held your breath as you slashed the boars’ thick flesh. Their bodies seared with flames, Pyro burning brightly as ashes quickly rose up into the air. A wildfire, rather. Lohen’s eyes vibrated with interest, and he swung his polearm, casting Cryo that directly mixed into your fire. “Oops! My vision—no, polearm slipped!” He said. You roll your eyes, and his overwhelming Cryo had put your pyro out. You quickly tended to Bennet, making sure none of your flames got too close to him. “Are you all right?? Sorry for that!” You replied, fussing over him. Lohen started pouting, seeing the way you had fussed over Bennet just to make sure he was okay and wasn’t injured. He puffed out his cheeks, his eyes blinking faster.
(After 2 hours of Lohen fighting) Bennet had left and gone back to his team, visibly relieved. You had scolded Lohen for being so careless about fighting, not even making sure civilians were okay. That was the final straw.
“Y/N, you always care so, so, so much about others. What about me-??” Lohen asked sadly. If he had cat ears, they would be drooping down, attached to his head, even. You chuckle at his words, amused. Lohen glared at you for laughing, and huffed a breath. “You’re so mean,” hejoked.” You glance at his face once and then cross your arms, judgementally looking at him.
After a while of bickering and ranting, your empathetic side gave in. You genuinely realized how much you’ve been avoiding him, let alone not giving him the attention he deserves. You slowly lean in for a hug, an actual one and not beating around the bush. “I’m sorry, Lohen. I didn’t realize you really wanted attention,” You said in a non-sincere way somehow. He looked at you, his red and blue eyes finally softening after the chaos of today. He kissed your cheek, and your heart blossomed in a warmth unique to you. You hug him tightly, making sure he doesn’t fall. Fall both metaphorically & physically.
“Jeez…you know I’m clingy & you still refuse to let me cling to you. Y/N, you have such a cruel heart,” Lohen faked, pretending his heart hurt. He placed his hand over his own heart, making a sad expression as if he was about to die. Truly, a dramatic moment. You instantly let go of him and glare at him, jabbing him in the shoulder. What a day.
