you don’t even need to put all that money and labor into building a wooden box.

use a large grow bag. if you have a sewing machine, or know someone who sews, just get some thick, durable, breathable fabric and make up a giant bag. roll over the edges, fill it with just a few inches of dirt, and plant your potatoes. then keep adding more and more soil, and unroll the edges each time, until your bag is full and the potatoes are finished growing.

this goes for other root type things, currently doing this with some ginger and sweet potatoes.

My glass gem corn seeds came in the mail and they're pretty when when they're dry! I can't imagine what they will look like once they produce their signature translucent multicolor corn kernels. Also, I've got a few more strawberries popping up!

I always end up with scraps after working the farmer’s market, so I think I’m going to turn these tiny radishes into earrings by preserving them in resin. the two big twisty ones would make great pendants, don’t you think?

thanks! if I ever move away from Miami, that's one thing I'd miss; no frost means year-long gardening. the only downside is that I can't grow cold weather veggies like lettuce, garlic, or broccoli very well. each zone has its pros and cons!
