the USAs gone to shit as of now and im considering moving to NZ when i grow up. would you recommend it? like geniunely? is there pros and cons to living there? i am very curious and id like to hear from someone that DOES live there!!! im sorry if this question has been asked before ^^;

HI !!!! to be very very brief: it's great if you love the outdoors. 5 million people on a set of islands larger than the entire UK means a TON of open space, forests, beaches, mountains, etc etc. if you're an ecology and camping nut like me it's awesome. if you enjoy highly urban areas, there ARE cities, but they're heinously expensive to live in for most people. though in comparison to the USA it might be better?? dunno!!

I've only ever lived in singapore and aotearoa, so I don't have MUCH frame of reference, but god I love it here. I know a lot of people who don't, though- my own family prefers southeast asia!!! but if you like art, expensive gourmet food, mythology and rich history, baffling island ecology, and a LOT of open roads, you'd probably like it here.

...just be mindful that the government sucks bad, there's a housing crisis, a ton of ecological issues (most rivers are unsafe to swim in due to runoff from farms), and there's more than a fair bit of racism here despite the (wonderful to see!!) efforts to uplift māori culture and voices. so yess. pros and cons. I'd definitely look into it, though!
