Eva Stratt does NOT need a redemption arc. Eva Stratt did EVERYTHING WRONG so that no-one else would have to. Her hands are permanently stained with blood so humanity gets to keep on living.
my friend wanted me to make this
you don't even have a dog
the aroace read of ryland grace is so personal and haunting. "you don't even have a dog." was it not enough to love the world for the sake of living in it. was it not enough to live for the thrill of discovery. was it not enough to smile at your students. was it not enough to be afraid.
Yurifying yaoi and yaoifying yuri are both acceptable. But heterofying and cisifying queer ships is a fucking hate crime. I said what I said. Like why are you gender swapping ONE of them?? I hate when mfos do that shit. It’s an instant fucking BLOCK…
Let me settle into the confines of your ribs so I can sleep soundly listening to the rhythm of your heart.
Some of the double standards I've noticed among trans people:
When a transfem makes posts about how you can "you should start estrogen", it's treated like detransition rhetoric, and she's demanded to put lengthy disclaimers to prevent her from upsetting AFAB readers
When a transmasc talks about the "miracle of testosterone" or recommending you start it, it's fine.
When a trans social group has mostly trans women, it's a bad sign, and they need to represent transmascs more ASAP
When a trans advocate group is led by mostly trans men, it's just an unfortunate result of random chance
Calling a transmasc whiny is hard misgendering, as only women can be whiny. Calling a trans woman a bro or dude is fine, though. As is directly stating her feminist leanings are due to a mental illness
When a transmasc runs into a transfem kink post by accident, it's the transfems fault and she's treated as on par with sexual predators
When a transmasc directly tells a transfem that she should kiss or even have sex with him instead of arguing, it's funny
Pointing out the objective fact transmasc spaces have a misogyny problem is bioessentialism.
Saying that T makes you a strong man and E will dissolve your muscles is not.
When a transfem distrusts men due to a lifetime of abuse, it's considered a symptom of a disease at best, and can only be stopped through forcing interactions with men.
When a transmasc directly says "I can't relate to women because I'm transmasc and have dysphoria" it's just how people work and you can't force him to do anything.
Telling a transmasc he benefits from male privileged at all is considered a grievous insult, and a denial of every problem he has
Transfems must be reminded of every bit of privilege they get at every possible moment, including lack of periods or pregnancy.
This is not even close to the full list of double standards. People often mockingly ask how male privilege is supposed to help trans people. It's hard to answer, not because they epic owned me, but because expecting a single solid ubiquitous answer ignores that privilege is not that easy to point at. It's a lot of small things, each one appearing minor but building up to something that can't possible be denied... except by those that benefit from it.
do you ever start writing a comment on the internet and then think “oh what the fuck am i going on about” and delete it
I also enjoy writing an entire paragraph, thinking "you know, I don't actually need to be involved in this conversation," and deleting it
“We chose the term “asexual” to describe ourselves because both “celibate” and “anti-sexual” have connotations we wished to avoid: the first implies that one has sacrificed sexuality for some higher good, the second that sexuality is degrading or somehow inherently bad. “Asexual”, as we use it, does not mean “without sex” but “relating sexually to no one”. This does not, of course, exclude masturbation but implies that if one has sexual feelings they do not require another person for their expression. Asexuality is, simply, self-contained sexuality.”
— The Asexual Manifesto, Lisa Orlando and Barbara Getz, 1972
Note the date, people:
That’s 1972
29 years before AVEN was started online,
and 47 years before the present.
And that’s only the date that Manifesto was written, so asexuals as members of a community must have existed at least some time before that.
So, no: we are not just Tumblr trenders. Get out of here with that.
supporting my asexual friends and foes by rebbloging this
It’s 50 years this month since the first version of the Asexual Manifesto was written. Aces have been writing about our experiences under this name for at least half a century. We are not an internet fad.
If only there were some sort of facility where teenagers could be taught new skills.
Anyway, here's a helpful diagram. When I was hit on the temple this was one of the harder things I had to reteach myself. Don't be shamed into not asking questions, and it's alright if it takes you a while to figure it out. Don't let someone make you feel bad for learning new things, or relearning old ones.
Sometimes, unfortunately, you have to teach yourself. YouTube is a valid option.
yeah okay ill reblog that :]
Now that I think of it, thank god SJ did not have access to the internet. He would have been a menace, more than SY ever could.
Also I feel like SY on his own really just looked like an avg asian dude with glasses sometimes. So I had to slap a giant cucumber on SY's shirt to make him recognizable.
Mobei Jun has always been destined for death.
Since he became king, it has been written into his fate that he will have his heart devoured by his heir to become the next king.
Mobei Jun doesn't fear this fate, or see it as wrong. He is proud to carry this tradition, proud to see the child that would surpass him.
It was only late when he realized that Shang Qinghua would not naturally follow after him. Shang Qinghua, after all, was an immortal cultivator. He would not die of old age.
Shang Qinghua had his own plans of course. He was never going to leave his king. He found a way to bind their souls together, so they would find each other again in every world, and he stood at his king's side the day the battle happened fighting right at his side.
They died together.
A new tradition of seeking a companion that could help carry the throne and die at their side at the end was born from this. Many companions chosen by the Mobei Juns would prove to be false, and not make it to the end. But each one continued to seek out that companion, remembering the king and queen who changed the North with their love.
i dont want a childproofed internet i am almost 30 fucking years old. give your kid an internet safety talk and stop making it the problem of every adult on the planet every time some cryptkeeper legislator gets the brilliant idea (via conservative lobbying) to push through yet another bill gutting our access to free expression + increasing the powers of the surveillance state + lining the pockets of Big Data in the name of Protecting The Kids they wont even feed. this shit is exhausting i can’t believe we’re going to be fighting about it for the rest of my life
