literally real life though
“we’ll go together”
Breathe like you’re allowed to be here. Because you are. You’re allowed to take up space. You’re allowed to make noise. You’re allowed to need things and people. Your allowed to need accommodations and help. You’re allowed to cry and to laugh as much as you need and want. You’re allowed to ask questions. You’re allowed to be passionate. You’re allowed to be messy. You’re allowed to be strange. You’re allowed to be a paradox of things. You are allowed to be here. You are meant to be here. Live like you are.
I cannot progress. May as well tell one of the stories I promised earlier.
We have many spawnling's stories about great ocean whales. Our ancestors come from a very wet place, with vast oceans and few island scattered throughout the planet. I suppose the ocean whales probably existed, though I haven't seen anything like that in my lifetime.
Here is one I always liked:
Long ago, when the seas were wide and the shores still soft, there lived a great elder Whale. Hiraila belly was vast, and hiraila song was louder than storms. When a spawnling cluster came of age, zi were sent to the Whale. For it was said that hira could look into a spawnling’s eyes, hear zilis voice, and know what role zi should play. One morning, the seas were warm and full of life. The first spawnling came when the sun had barely peeked out from the water. Still waking, the Whale rumbled, “You are quick! Quick ones chase fish. You will be a hunter.” And so it was. The second spawnling swam out from a cluster of sea grass, after watching what had happened with the first. The Whale sang, “You are clever! Clever ones keep shells. You will be a counter.” And so it was. One by one, the Whale judged. One by one, the spawnlings were given their place. At last came a very small spawnling. Ge was neither quick nor clever. Girt voice was quiet. Girt beak was plain. The Whale hummed low. “You are small. Small ones fetch scraps. You will be a gatherer.” The spawnling hesitated, girt heart heavy. For ge wished to be great, like the Whale, or swift, like the hunters, or wise, like the counters. Still, ge bowed and left without a word. But instead of fetching scraps, ge returned to the Whale the next day with a gift: a tiny shell polished bright. Its colour was so lustrous beneath the clear sea that it reflected the surface starlight all the way down to the Whale's grotto. The Whale's eyes were drawn to the shell. “Why have you brought me this?” The spawnling croaked, “Because I wish to trade, not just fetch.” The Whale laughed, a sound like crashing waves. “Small one, you do not obey. But you are bold. Bolder than the quick, bolder than the clever. Very well. You shall not fetch. You shall bargain.” And from that day, it was said: even the smallest of spawnlings can change zilis station, if zi dare to be bold.
is that a nothing in your pants or are you just normal to see me
Sometimes I hyperfocus so hard on something, I forget I’m a person until someone interacts with me. I feel like some wild animal seeing a human being for the first time. I’m like “oh yeah I’m supposed to speak and stuff”
Me: *doing something for hours on end without stopping*
Someone: Hey, are you there? I was just wondering if you’d like to-
Me:
For every single person in the notes going “yeah” or “same” or something like that…
I've made this post like six times but it still fucks me up the China's mountains just look like that. Like I spent decades thinking it was stylistic but no, they just have different mountains over there.
For reference, here's what my local mountains look like:
Here's the general art style Chinese mountains are drawn in:
And here's how some of them actually look:
What the FUCK
I’m specifically reblogging this here because I know there is a geological reason for this and I know at least one of you has to know it.
thank you
in spirit i am a 7th grade boy
It is *ehem* hard isn't it
A few years ago while trying to find ways to commit suicide as painlessly as possible, I came across a PDF of Dr. Paul Quinnett's The Forever Decision. Thinking it might go into actual methods of suicide (I read an article once that actually did that and was trying to find it again) I started to read it, and I think I only got about two pages in before I was crying too much to actually see the words.
I downloaded the PDF to my hard drive and I open it again whenever I'm feeling too suicidal to do much else, but not enough to start booking a ride to the hospital. And every time without fail I only go up to a few pages before backing off and choosing to live another day just because suicide suddenly seems even more unbearable than whatever the hell upset me in the first place.
All the book really does is [I'm pulling a summary from GoodReads here as, again, I've read no more than 5 pages] "discusses the social aspects of suicide, the right to die, anger, loneliness, depression, stress, hopelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, the consequences of a suicide attempt, and how to get help."
But it also starts with the author kindly asking the reader to complete the book before going through with anything, and for some reason I'm compelled to really just try to read it all before finalizing everything. Despite not yet completing it (hopefully never will) I think I can safely say it's saved my life at least a few times now.
It's intentionally legal to copy and redistribute this book to keep it as accessible as possible, and it's very easy to find, but here's a link for it anyways.
on watching a parent age
i saw somebody say “what if you’re gone and i haven’t become anything yet” and basically that broke me on a random thursday evening
OP, this is genuinely a masterpiece, three poems in one, moving and well crafted. Please tell me you have submitted it to at least some poetry contests, and if not, please do so.
Bugs Bunny could singlehandedly defeat Thanos by dressing up as a TSA agent and setting up a metal detector in the middle of the battlefield saying that all metal objects must be removed if you want to pass on through now stick around for my 2,000 word essay on just how effectively he would convince The Mad Titan to comply
“For shame, doc! Dontcha know we got other folks waiting?”
(Thanos looks behind him and sees dozens of Bugs Bunnies dressed as angry yelling travelers with huge bags of luggage. Thanos rubs his neck guiltily and begins sliding off the gauntlet)
I felt compelled
I don’t think I’ve seen such a finely crafted Looney Toons joke in over two decades. Bravo.
i genuinely did not remember how fucked up the plot of robots (2005) was like. rich robot capitalists stop manufacturing certain parts to cause poor robots to become obsolete so they can be melted down and their metal remains used to create more high end products in the name of profit like wow thats genuinely horrifying for a movie whos target audience was mainly 8 year olds
this is the same movie that has a character with an ass thats twice the size of her body
And it was a cinematic masterpiece
and it was a cinematic masterpiece
