re: Geno & Anna unfollowing each other on instagram
Yep, they've done this before, so not going to try to interpret much from this. (Though kind of curious which one of them blocks the other? Or do they take turns? 😝 It may be just both deciding to simultaneously unfollow the other, but that's boring.) Geno also unfollows the Penguins, yet there's no rift there 🤷
First noticed the unfollowing Sept 3rd, but no idea when it actually happened. Anna posted photo of Nikita golfing later that day (and per friend's stories, Geno was there).
Geno attended Penguins practice Sept 6th. Last year, Geno also appeared at practice on the 6th, so not much to read into that.
Given Nikita is in school now, 2nd grade, I'm not surprised by Anna & Nikita staying in Florida. Last season, they followed the school's schedule (arriving back to Miami from Russia less than a week before the school year & leaving Miami a few days after school let out). And outside of major events (Geno's 1000th game, Winter Classic), the mid-season break, and an occasional weekend, it didn't appear that Nikita was outside of Miami (based on Geno's/Anna's posts and reporters/fans commenting on Nikita being at practice/games).
Last time I recall Anna & Nikita spending significant time in September in Pittsburgh was 2019, when Nikita was 3. So I don't think their absence means anything besides Nikita going to school.
Nice gossip material, but not really much to go on.
update 2023-09-18: Geno is following Anna (at least 3 day ago, but I don't check regularly), but Anna is *not* following Geno. Amusingly, Anna is following the Penguins, while Geno is not.
