I think the bet was on, like, not when they’d come out but... when they’d get together. They all probably thought that Jack and Bitty had JUST gotten together, that day or the last night, and that they were telling them IMMEDIATELY. So, I think it’s a lot more along the lines of posts that had been made before where they knew Bitty was interested in Jack, and they were betting on when Jack would start picking up on it.

Hi, I'm a big fan of your Operation Oz fic (seriously, the whole spy au is amazing!), and I'm just wondering if you could tell me when the next chapter is coming up? I don't wanna rush you, I'm just curious :P

After some technical difficulties (meaning an entire reworking of the chapter and the loss of the thumbdrive it was on initially (always back up your files, kids.), I am currently ~1,500 words deep in Chapter Four and with not an end in sight. This one is going to be a long one. This is definitely going to be the longest so far, and maybe? The longest in the story. 

Chapters 4-11 planned with buzzwords, and I feel like I should tell y’all a little so...

4. date5. infiltrate6. fallout 7. move 8. move in9. capture10. story11. escape

Operation Oz in it’s entirety is probably going to be somewhere around 15 chapters long? Maybe 20. I’m not sure. But! Thank y’all for being so patient, and thank you for sticking with it!!!!

How Dex joined is ~spoilers~ for Operation Oz, even though I already have the post written for it, but! Nursey joined because of a) the legacy in his family of spying as a career and b) because he knew Shitty from Real School. Yes, Dex did join before Nursey.

The broad WELL motto is “Connect and Protect”, but, a few of the more established WELL sects have their own. 

CanWELL: “Cooperation to save the nation.” RusWELL: “To serve in silence.” and, SamWELL: “Get rekt, assholes.”

Ok I wasn’t sure if I was gonna make this post but. I guess I am.

I relate very heavily with so much that is going on between Jack and Kent (specifically Kent ok) and I’ve seen a lot of people talking about Jack minimising what happened. Which I think is true. 

You just have to remember that there’s no way Kent isn’t pulling the reverse himself. He has built everything up so much in his head. If you asked them, really asked them, what happened, their stories might even hardly match up.

What I’m trying to say is that these boys are NOT OBJECTIVE. They have both gone through a LOT and for Jack, reducing what happened in order to compartmentalise and deal with the other things he had (and has) going on is a defence mechanism. For Kent, going over it all again and again in his head until everything means more than it did, until Jack loves him back, at least in his mind (and yes, Kent is deluded. I’ve been there) is also a defence mechanism. 

They’re different people who deal with different, very shitty situations in different ways. In doing so, they hurt each other. This is so painfully real and normal. They were children. They’re still young now (and did not have a healthy development by any means, what with growing up so embroiled in hockey culture) and they screw up. It’s not okay, they need to fucking communicate, but it’s not condemnable. 

You don’t have to like either of them, just understand that neither of them carries any kind of overarching blame. At the end of the day they’re just boys who want different things out of each other.

Yo TRUE. Am I all about Kent potentially being portrayed as a douche (that’s what I think may be the set up)? No. 

But people can be in a relationship/situation and perceive it differently. I don’t get the vibe that Jack is being dismissive to cover it up or to be insensitive. I just think he doesn’t realize somehow that Kent is (probz) not over it.
