As she listened to him, Leah went over and pushed an old, worn armchair against the door. Just in case they needed extra protection. It wouldn’t hold someone out forever- but it would slow them down. When he asked how she was, Leah sort of shrugged before she went to sit down beside him.
“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. But overall? I’m okay.”

“I am glad that you are okay.” He remarked, trying to figure out how to comfort her but nothing was coming to mind. He understood her because Remiel was just as frightened as her. He hadn’t felt like this since the first time his second owner attacked him. He frowned and looked at her. “I am scared too but we are in this together.”

Can I just say something? I apologize to all my writing partners for how slow and inactive I am. Life is really hitting me hard rn & I have no clue when it will let up. She sat quiet as she let him speak, her eyes filled with concern. This poor soul. Misty wasn’t able to fix all his problems- but maybe, he’d at least let her help a little.
“Mr. Remiel, why don’t you come inside? I can fix ya a cup of tea, put on the radio. Won’t - completely fix the silence. But it’s a little louder than the cicada’s.”

Remiel was pulled from his thoughts due to her speaking. He cleared his throat and realized something felt wrong with his throat. It suddenly felt scratchy so he cleared his throat once more. Unsure what was even going on but he finally answered her. “Yes, alright. Thank you.”

She was so careful while holding the kitten, but a wide smile grew on her face when he said that. Never would she imagine being a cat lady but they were important to him, so they were important to her.

“Yes, I did. I found her down a well with a broken leg,” He stated as he looked at Pearl and the kitten. The kitten started meowing and was wiggling. “I healed her leg but now she’s just cold and probably hungry.”

A wide smile grew on his lips when his friend agreed. It had taken him centuries to try and coax the angel to lighten up. It would do him a mile of good. He needed to relax. It was too bad their other friend couldn’t join them- but a small price to pay to gave fun with Remi.

His comment made Emma laugh loudly. In truth, she knew that it was probably a total fluke and unintentional. Which was probably the part that made it funnier.

Once she laughed, a confused look came upon his face. He wasn’t sure why exactly Emma was laughing but he decided to join in. A little awkwardly and confused sounding though.

Remiel still didn’t really know how to use the telephone. It wasn’t the lack of trying, it was just because he didn’t care for it. He preferred telepathy, it was a lot simpler in his book. But now his brother was informing him that games can be on them, it just blew his mind. “How can a game be on a cellular telephone?”
