stella was originally born in london, england, to a greek-born father and an english-canadian mother

her parents weren’t the most compatible of people, to say the least: her dad was a guitarist for an indie band and a bit of a stoner, while her mom worked for the municipal government and was especially hard working

it was pretty clear from the start that stella was an accident; they’d met in a bar and, although they didn’t quite hit it off, there was quite a bit of... sexual tension

things led to another and a month later, her mother found out she was pregnant and told her father

her dad agreed to be in stella’s life for stella’s sake, but wasn’t really the type to settle down, which was fine with her mom so long as he was there for their daughter both emotionally and financially

stella grew with these very opposing forces; where her mom was high strung and extremely hardworking, her dad was more of the go with the flow type 

she, of course, took more after dad and was very mellow, not much of a worrier and very much the creative type; she endeavoured in painting and music and learned how to play the bass and the drums pretty young

she loved and still loves her mom, but she also saw where worrying too much lead you and she didn’t really want that for herself

she wasn’t the best at school, but managed to graduate from secondary school

instead of pursuing postsecondary education, she went and worked for a small concert arena as a sound engineer before she was employed by bbc radio one as a drummer, which lead her to meet a handful of bands which asked her to play drums for them for some of their shows, which brought her to america and then canada

while touring with a band, she met esme and the gang, and the rest is p much history in her opinion

really loves playing in a band that she can call her own

also really enjoys fame, even if it can get a bit much sometimes

definitely the stereotypical chill drummer who’s down for anything

“pleasure to make your acquaintance, kay,” she grinned and gave him a one armed shrug, “seems way more fun than eating alone, wouldn’t you say?” she settled back into her seat, wanting to take a look at whoever the detective was tailing, but figured it wouldn’t be very inconspicuous of her. she figured, then, that she might as well decide on what she wanted to order, and turned back to the menu before he spoke up again. she grinned, “yeah, actually. I’m the drummer for firestorm. d’you know us?” she figured most people in ellingham knew them or of them by now, given that their move to ellingham was pretty big news for a time, but she still met the odd person who had no idea who they were, or if they did, didn’t know their faces. “by the way, can I ask what whoever your tailing did? or might have done? I swear I won’t tell another soul, I’m just curious.” she added, careful to lower her voice.

stella opened the stage door slowly, placing a foot behind it just in case someone was trying to break into the backstage area --a caution which she never understood until a fan almost ran her over at one of firestorm’s first concerts which was certainly an interesting experience. she peered into the night, spotting the ellingham p.d. badge first as it gleamed in the lamp light, and looked up at the policeman, “ah, you’re here. thank you for coming so quickly.” she opened the door wider and gestured for the policeman to come in.

kay had been following the suspect for a few blocks now, trying to keep them in his sight but hanging back to avoid being discovered. he rounded a corner to spot them walking into a restaurant and casually followed them inside. the place was busy and there weren’t many empty tables. he saw the suspect glancing at him from the corner of his eye and he knew he had to do something to blend in and do it fast. he picked a table at random and sat down across from someone, trying to look like it was his intention all along. he smiled at the person across from him.

❝ hi, sorry to interrupt. would you do me a favour and pretend we’re here together? i’m on a case. ❞ he said in a low voice, keeping his posture relaxed as he picked up a menu and casually perused it, waiting for an answer to his question.

stella is only slightly startled by the fact that some stranger chose to plop down across the table from her, breaking her focus from the menu in her hand and looking over it, raising her eyebrow as a prompt for his explanation. not that she minds his presence much, of course. “ooh,” she hummed and pushed herself upward from her slouch. “sounds exciting. I’m in, but I do think I’ll need to know your name in order to make it work.”
