(part 1) (can't believe it's been a full year and a half since I started this train of thought -_-" ) so they find a house and it's...old. Old and surrounded by weeds tall enough to be home to some very wild, very angry cats. But the house isn't tilted and the roof isn't caved in so it can't be that bad, Karin figures. Once they do something about the cats.

Suigetsu suggests stuffing them into a sack and dumping them in the mountains, Karin thinks about luring them away with food. In the end they use a bottle of catnip (that Sasuke carries for reasons he will not disclose) and the cats become Sasuke's loyal followers, trailing after him with suspicion turned fondness in their eyes. "Just like you Suigetsu" Karin laughs and then dodges as he swings at her with his blade. Suigetsu, of course, was tasked with trimming the weeds and is not happy about it. His blade was made for better things, he insists and everyone just rolls their eyes. Renovations take time because they're a group of renegade ninja whose adventures take them all over the place and none of them have fixed anything house-related in their lives before ("it can't be that hard" Suigetsu said at first and then the water pipes burst) but eventually after a lot of bickering between Karin and Suigetsu and many, many sighs from Sasuke the house begins to take a solid shape again. It's Juugo that brings everyone's ideas together into something coherent and he does it in that quiet, unobtrusive way he has about him and one day, they get back to the house and realize it has turned into a home.

i have a theory. What if, the uchihas were SUPPOSED to have a daughter when sasuke was about...two, ig? BUT when mikoto gave birth (let's just assume fugaku wasn’t allowed in the hospital room), the nurses who were there to help her were actually orochimaru's lackies. So they took the baby and told mikoto and fugaku that she didn’t survive. Orochimaru then took her in and raised her, completely isolated from a normal life except the people in his hideouts. The reason why orochimaru took her as a baby was because he wanted absolute control over this uchiha baby who could potentially grow up to be very powerful and become his vessel. However, she grew up to have a very weak and timid personality despite being a capable shinobi. Thus, instead of killing her, he put her in the same hideout with karin because he knows she won't retaliate or try to kill him (since he's manipulated her since she was a baby). And that's where sasuke finds her and karin and forms team hebi. However, neither sasuke or any member of the team knows that she's his sister bcs mikoto and fugaku were so devastated about their daughter's "death" that they never talked about it ever again. Itachi is the only one who knows about her true identity.

holy crap I didn't mean to leave you hanging for so long. sorry about that. This is a super creative idea. I've personally never been a fan of the surprise sibling plot twist but I do love this for you! also it's totally an Itachi thing to not mention something as important as another sibling. As for how I think Taka would react ('cause that's how this whole thing started I believe ^-^) I think Suigetsu would be extremely apprehensive. He's not a very trusting person (then again, who in Taka is) and I think it would take a lot for him to let another person onto the team. He'd needle her a bit, try to figure stuff out about her and honestly probably casually mention that she looks like "you Sasuke if you were a girl" almost every day but still not put two together. I can't really imagine there being another girl on the team without Karin immediately getting very territorial of Sasuke since she already low-key is to the rest of the team lol. (Which would make things weird bc the sibling thing) except that Karin can sense chakra and there's no way she wouldn't notice that Sasuke and the sister's chakras are similar.....idk what you'd want to do about that. Juugo--is generally a nice easy going guy so I don't think he'd have any issues with another person on the team especially since he respects Sasuke and his choices. He wouldn't be hostile to her at all, but I don't think he'd talk to her much either since he generally stays out of the way.

Ok so I know I've been super absent lately and it's mostly because Life. and I've been feeling kind of bad about it (because I miss interacting with my fellow Taka/JuuSasu lovers) so I figured I'd just post something. so without further adieu here is the most recent thing from my master doc of random blurbs as an offering to anyone else craving stupid Taka shenanigans but not getting them. (I didn't edit it at all so if there are errors I'll fix them when I re-read this in the morning lol) ... ...

Sasuke stirred when something bumped up against his side.

“Juugo?” He rolled over and reached, eyes still glued shut and limbs heavy from sleep.

There was no reply and Sasuke was drifting back to his half finished dream when icy feet touched his ankles.

He flinched, jerking himself awake as he sat up on his elbows and then immediately ducked back down into the blankets when the frigid air raised goosebumps on his neck.

Under the blankets beside him was a mop of sliver hair

“Suigetsu what the f—“ he cut himself off as he bumped into the warm lump of blankets behind him so he could murmur an apology.

“What’s going on” Juugo’s words weren’t formed right and he was groping blindly for probably the lamp but in entirely the wrong direction.

“Suigetsu what” Sasuke repeated, moving his feet away from the ice blocks that were taking up space in his warm territory.   Juugo’s reaching hand had stopped on Sasuke’s shoulder and was getting heavier as Juugo relaxed, evidently he’d decided there was no threat and was already dozing off. 

“Oh. Juugo’s here too” Suigetsu commented dryly as he tried again to stick his feet against Sasuke’s.

“Sasuke stop moving you’re taking the blankets”

Suigetsu inched closer in search of warmth and Sasuke scooted back.  

Sasuke knew it was cold, he’d spent the entire length of 15 minutes the night before pressed against Juugo like his life depended on it leeching body heat off of what was apparently a walking furnace.

“Suigetsu, stop”

Sasuke was backed up against Juugo now and getting wrapped in Juugo’s arms because half asleep Juugo didn’t understand personal space in bed.

Usually it was fine but—Sasuke shivered as Juugo’s warm, even breath ghosted across the nape of his neck and Suigetsu made a gagging sound—tonight they weren’t exactly alone.

“You know you guys are gross, right” Suigetsu commented.  Sasuke could actually hear him roll his eyes.

“You have blankets of your own” Sasuke pointed out, certainly not getting distracted by how warm Juugo’s hand on his stomach was.

“See that’s what you think but—put your feet back—Karin stole them all”

“You don’t sleep with Karin” There was no way to phrase that in a way that didn’t sound suggestive.  

From behind Sasuke Juugo made a noise that sounded suspiciously like he was trying not to laugh. 

“If I did I’d have blankets” Suigetsu’s response was quick.  “She took them all from the pile before I got there.  Now stop squirming, I’m trying to get some sleep”

This is some crazy lore you’re dropping anon can you share more of your thoughts on this? Like what made you think there’s a younger sister? I’m so curious because I read the series twice and unless they added something in a flashback in b*ruto or like added it in the anime I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about 🙈🙈

Rock paper scissors tournament

Chore chart with point system. More chores done=more points. Person with highest points gets to sit for one meeting

First person to the meeting gets the chair (worked all of once because they usually all arrive at the same time)

By raffle. Ended after Suigetsu picked his own name 5 times in a row by pure luck and Karin accused him of cheating.

Extremely competitive round of musical chairs. Rage fits were triggered, Sasuke had to shut it down.

They can’t decide and so everyone ends up sitting on the floor. Including Sasuke

New year's resolutions? Also thinking a lot about how their goals differ between their peaceful post-canon roommate era, versus during canon when they were still doing sasuke's revenge quest, versus in their difficult situations before they got together as a team

Yes! I love this. These are some of my random thoughts on the topic but I’d love to hear any ones you might have!

I think it takes Sasuke the longest to come up with his resolution because he had one goal that took up his entire life that determined every single part of his existence and with it finally gone….well, he spends a few new years eve’s just staring into nothing trying to find even a fragment of anything to build the next era of his life off of. I think his goals come slowly, carefully thought out and always focused on the people who are like he was; lost and abandoned and in desperate need of someone to stand for them.

Suigetsu always had a goal; to collect all seven of the swords (bc his life is actually a video game)…and after everything is over it doesn’t really change. The only thing that changes is now he was a family he cares about (even though he won’t admit it about Karin or Juugo), and he’s genuinely concerned for Sasuke so for a while his becomes keeping things together, keeping the team together. And that’s how he accidentally becomes the heart of the team for a hot second. (His New Year’s resolution is to keep Sasuke happy somehow)

I imagine that Karin went through her life (pre Taka) judging her life through metrics. Not because that’s all she cared about but because for a while that was the only thing she could focus on. She was the warden of the southern hideout and an object of experimentation and she coped by focusing on data. Then Sasuke came around and her goal literally became seducing him but gradually shifted into something more healed. The team was a safe environment for her and she started actually caring about each member of the team (even though Suigetsu is an active source of annoyance). Post Canon I imagine her wanting to explore her interests and passions, maybe she gets really into studying perfumes.

Juugo has never really had resolutions or goals. You really can’t when you have no control over this thing that plagues you. I think every year he hoped somehow the new year would be better, that the fits would be less or maybe wouldn’t even come at all. But they always did. Kimimaro was a reprieve but he disappeared and for the 3 years after that Juugo lost track of the years all together. The Team is the first taste he has of feeling normal, of being (somewhat) in control of his life and I think he struggles to figure out what to do with himself and so he ends up doing a lot of small, grounding things like cooking and carving and laundry that he could never do before. Post Canon Juugo is so careful with his life. not in a prohibitive way but because it means so much to him and he wants to use it to help others (including animals) and I think his goals each year reflect that.

Team Taka and New Year Prep part 1/?? | Cleaning house ((yes this is an invitation for anyone to send me their Taka New year prep head canons))

“Sasuke I don’t know that this was a good idea” Suigetsu is standing in the doorway with a box of what Sasuke assumes is part of the mist nin’s record collection and a look of what can only be described as severe distrust on his face.

Sasuke follows Suigetsu’s line of vision to where Karin is sat cross-legged on the floor going through Juugo’s small collection of shirts with the ruthless air of a vulture bearing down on the latest dead animal and then looks back at Suigetsu.

“We all agreed on the decision” he reminds Suigetsu and Suigetsu gives him a disappointed look.

“But Sasuke,” Suigetsu started, shifting the box he was holding to his hip so he could use one hand to gesticulate. “that was before Karin drew organizing duty from the bowl”

The Bowl had been the result of no one (besides Juugo) being particularly open to the idea of cleaning their small house in preparation for the new year.  While Suigetsu had very vocally thought that if Juugo wanted to clean he was welcome to ‘clean his guts out’ Sasuke had insisted they were a team and should all do their part to prepare for the coming year. So he’d made them write all the tasks that needed to be done down on slips of paper and then take turns taking a paper from the bowl until it was empty.

Which was how Suigetsu had ended up with toilet and laundry duty, Sasuke had ended up re-papering the windows and kitchen cleaning, and Karin had window duty and reorganizing everything. Including everyone’s personal belongings.

(Juugo had taken whatever was left and was already halfway through the stupidly long list of items that included changing lightbulbs, dusting door jambs and scrubbing the walls.  Never mind that Sasuke was helping him with some of it in order to put off opening the refrigerator)

“Next” Sasuke and Suigetsu both look over as Karin stands up from her latest conquest and stretches out her legs and back. At her feet are two piles, one significantly larger than the other and near the trash bin.  Sasuke opens his mouth to point out that if she throws away that much Juugo won’t have anything to wear and then shuts it again.  Shopping was on the calendar for the next day, surely Juugo would be alright until then. Karin looks at the box Suigetsu is holding and in her eyes is the glint of a hunter. “bring it over here” She points to the space in front of her, her hands resting on her hips when Suigetsu doesn’t move. “what, are you scared” Suigetsu is holding his precious collection with both hands, practically hugging it to his chest. “You know Sasuke," he's so close to just backing out of the door. "there’s a lot of other stuff to go through this year, I think this can be done next—“ Sasuke fixes him with a long, silent gaze. “Suigetsu” He’s deliberately not looking through the pile of his things Karin had finished going through right before starting on Juugo’s clothes.  It was mostly scrolls and scraps of paper he’d somehow amassed over the years and she had kept her promise not to peek into the really personal items but even so it had been a harrowing experience to watch.

“She’s not going to throw away anything important” Sasuke looks at Karin as he says it and she huffs. “of course not, why would I do that.” She pointed at the space in front of her again “now bring it over”

Team Taka and the petty things they do (music edition)

Karin - blasts shot through the heart by bon jovie anytime she is annoyed with Sasuke.

Suigetsu - once started singing ‘’manchild” when Juugo was going into a fit, and got in big trouble with Sasuke afterwards.

Juugo - doesn’t really do petty that often but once he “accidentally” “misplaced” the chord to Suigetsu’s record player and feigned ignorance about it for a whole week. The thing is everyone believed him and when the chord turned up a week later back in its usual spot no one questioned it. They still don’t know it was him.

Sasuke - never blasts petty songs but when hes peeved he uses headphones. Somehow this hurts them more than if he was playing a roast.
