It seems like it was yesterday!
I found this on twitter and I’m fucking speechless.
Your honour, she’s her father’s daughter. I rest my case. No paternity test necessary.
→ Star Wars Adventures - Forces of Destiny - Princess Leia This comic is mostly just a really cute thing that’s meant for a younger crowd, but there were some moments with Leia feeling so exhausted and worn down, she’s not sure she can get back up again, that had a lot of weight to them. But this moment especially–the snow that consumes her, the depth to which she’s been covered, the exhaustion we’ve felt from her up to this point, wondering when is the day she doesn’t get back up again, what makes a hero, and how she’s at this really terrible point. “No matter how many times you’re beaten down… don’t let it be the final stroke. No matter how badly he wants it.” A good, solid story for Leia’s character! But an even heavier one knowing how much Vader wants her dead, wants her to give up and be beaten down and just die. It shows the weight of her hatred for him–and his for her–which is sad, knowing their relation, but more importantly it shows how Leia needed that anger in those years. That ultimately anger will burn you from the inside out, it will steal so much from you if you don’t let it go one day, you will lose so much of your life and your love to anger, but also that sometimes it’s the only thing there when you need something to keep standing up. Leia’s anger at Vader, the horrors he’s inflicted on the galaxy, the terror he looms over the Rebellion at any moment, probably even that she somehow just knows when his rage is spiking again, every moment it steals further into her very bones and cements itself there. She lies underneath all that snow, exhausted in heart and mind and soul and body, and reaches for the anger she has had building for so much of her life, so much that crossed into something bigger and darker after ANH. She can celebrate getting out of there, she can be happy about it, and those are genuine! But still. When she’s in the middle of all that snow, no light to reach her, hardly any air, cold surrounding her, she reaches for her anger, she reaches for “Don’t let him win by giving up.” It’s determination and such braveness. But it’s deliberately connected to thoughts of Vader, whom she hates, that keep her going. And, oh, my dear Leia, she’ll never let herself be fully consumed by that anger, but she will lose much to it and my heart hurts for her. In that, she is truly her biological father’s daughter.
That’s why I say: READ.THE.COMICS.

Carrie Fisher
Star Wars AU where Leia grew up on Tatooine but unlike Luke, she actually joins the Imperial Academy, and because her talent she’s often compliments and talked about even among high-profile imperials treated as some kind of prodigy, awaking an interest in Vader. Feeling her strength in the force just makes him more interested if not obsessed with Leia

She's awesome! She deserves more recognition!

seeing mon and kleya’s thrilling escapes from coruscant makes leia’s first reaction to luke and han even funnier. leia must’ve heard about these highly skilled rebels but then when she gets captured, she gets a hillbilly farmboy and an idiot smuggler to rescue her

“Maybe Vader had died heroically, but ten minutes of contrition did not make up for years of atrocities.”
