y'all it's always pissed me off when people gave Stolas shit for not defending Blitzo in Ozzie's

because motherfucker did we watch the same scene? Stolas is TERRIFIED.

this shit they're doing? reminds me of this:

this is mobbing behavior. the crows surround it and they're all cawing and yelling at it. the owl in this picture is stressed and overstimulated and cannot move or defend itself in any meaningful way. sound is the primal way owls perceive the world and their surroundings, and this owl is receiving so much stimulus at once that it has no real clue what's going on. this is how crows KILL owls. (crows do this to a lot of threats, but it is especially effective against owls)

(I argue that not only is Stolas an owl and also autistic-coded, but that these facts about his character are intrinsically linked and cannot be separated. owls are very autistic in a lot of ways)

Stolas didn't defend Blitzo here because he was not really capable of doing that. he's fucking scared and he barely even knows what's happening

Btw, can we talk about how Ozzie is being hypocritical by calling out Stolas “being with an imp” (Blitzo) when he is hiding his relationship with Fizz from everyone (they seem to have been together for a long time). He mocks Moxxie's love song, but helps Fizz with everything. And then, he had the audacity to say to Stolas, 'We haven't met since the day you crashed my place' (in Oops), aka the day he humiliated him in front of everyone.

At least, Stolas had the decency to be very open about their relationship from the start. In Harvest Moon + Loo loo Land: He flirts with Blitz in front of everyone. He didn't feel embarrassed about being with Blitz at Ozzie before Asmo talked about his abusive wife, while having absolutely no knowledge of his marital life. Stolas has it all? Yeah, Stella! is « stunning » but she is, above all, abusing him on a daily basis and the root of his depression. Thanks for the trigger Ozz.

Both Blitz and Stolas were both shamed that day. How can Stolas defend Blitz when he can’t even defend himself?
