After hollanov get married they tend to keep their PDA on the dl for the most part because they're celebrities and also they both feel like too much PDA will make people associate them more with their relationship then their actual jobs which they don't necessarily want. However one day some stupid journalist comments on it and says it's like they're not even together or are pretending not to be a couple.

And something just clicks in Shane's brain where he's like... Fuck this I'm allowed to be touchy with my HUSBAND. why the fuck did we think that wasn't allowed??? Literally everyone else does it! And from that point on they are absolutely touchy. Ilya's hand on Shane's waist or the small of his back on every red carpet (even when they have solo pictures there's always one or two of one of them gazing lovingly to the side where presumably their husband is standing), Shane randomly holding Ilya's hand during interviews and Ilya kissing his hand when he's not talking.

Them holding hands everywhere they go and in every paparazzi picture. Numerous paparazzi pictures of them out with friends smooching against walls, holding each other from behind, stuff like that. They start posting each other more online and post stories that are sometimes even a little sexy. Like a picture from behind of Ilya shirtless making Shane breakfast or a picture conveniently showing off his hickeys.

The two don't feel like they are under any obligation to confirm this sort of thing for anyone, however it always feels nice to get back at some rando who thinks they know you and your relationship better then you do, and admittedly it feels nice to be more open about their affection with each other rather than treating it like something that's only allowed to be for them. So in a weird way, thank you random asshole!

on the topic of disabled characters, though, i think a LOT of artists give characters mobility aids that their character wouldn't actually benefit from using.

i'm sort of having a mild brain fog moment rn so i can't fully articulate what i'm on about, but i think a lot of able-bodied artists view things like canes and crutches as interchangeable. and they often don't know enough about the wide range of mobility aids to make an informed decision about what their character might actually use based on their disability

i also think that aids like walkers and rollators are sort of viewed as "cringe" on some level, and many people view them to be "just for old people," so many artists will opt for giving a character who has full-body pain and fatigue a cane (which, in many cases, can potentially WORSEN full-body pain) instead. and a lot of people don't realize that most wheelchair users are able to walk, so they don't consider it an option for characters with chronic pain

idk it's kind of frustrating. i've genuinely never, ever seen a character that uses a rollator before. not once. i cannot name a single one. i know of multiple ocs who are described to have full-body pain, dizziness, and fatigue that are drawn as cane users and are never shown with wheelchairs or walkers, though

it's also sort of sad? i've been diagnosed since i was twelve years old, and i only heard of rollators LAST YEAR. and that was only because i saw one irl and immediately asked what it was. i wonder how many disabled people out there don't even know it's an option solely because they're completely underrepresented online and in media

if you're a creative with a disabled oc, PLEASEEE check out this link. it's a very nice and detailed guide for telling which mobility aids suit someone's needs best. it's incredibly important to make the right choice for your character! mobility aids tell you a LOT about someone's lived experience. picking the right one will communicate to your audience #1 what your character goes through #2 that you UNDERSTAND what your character goes through!

Your life will not come to a dramatic and cinematic end to all of humanity and the world as we know it any time soon. The world will change and evolve as it always has throughout all of history and all of its constant perpetual bullshit, and you will continue to live on regardless of the outcome. Yes, even if you're queer. Yes, even if you're trans. Yes, even if you're neurodivergent. Yes, even if you're racialized. Set up your 401k and find ways to guard against becoming senile not if, but when you grow old.

Well... Yes and no.

The last time Ryland Grace was CONSCIOUS of any human touch was when he was knocked out. Absolutely true.

But the last human contact he would have had was Yao and Ilyukhina. Who were told that he was scared about panicking during launch and asked to be sedated. Who did all the pre flight checks before the Hail Mary launched. Who would have carefully, gently carried Grace to his bed in the dormitory, made sure he was secure, and initiated his coma procedure.

There would have been love there. Remember Ilyukhina throwing her hands high and saying "welcome to crew!" Remember Yao saying how he hoped Grace would say yes. Remember how much the crew trusted Grace, Stratt's First Officer, the guy who helped them so much, and was so kind to them, and was the one who they entrusted their preferred methods of suicide to. Who thought they were wonderful and brave.

They would have tucked him in. Maybe brushed his hair out of his face. Maybe said something kind to him before initiating their own coma procedures.

Ryland Grace doesn't remember, of course he wouldn't. But the last human touch he ever had was full of love.
