I had no idea the commercial I was in was playing during the Superbowl. Let alone after Rihanna’s performance. Not sure you can imagine our surprise and excitement! Seeing the back of my head and quick flash of me. Something I never thought I’d say in my lifetime, “I was a part of Superbowl 57”. It makes me appreciate how unpredictable this life is. No matter how big or small I’m just grateful to be blessed with a variety of experiences. And I love that the commercial was about women in the NFL. Not to mention it was a great game with a lot of firsts going on. 2 Black quarterbacks, the first black female to coach in the Superbowl (shoutout @autumnlockwood), and four female pilots that flew during the opening to honor 50 years of women flying in the US Navy. I’m not that deep into football, but yesterday I was in it to win it. Go Chiefs!! What a game!! I had to have this on my wall, as celebration, as homage, as reminder, as encouragement. When I’m at my quietest it’s because I’m working the hardest. Not because I have to, because I love to. Not for the end result, for the journey. I’m at peace when I create. I find myself in making something out of nothing. I find strength in growth. I pray you all love what you do and do what you love. My granny turns 95 today and I’m just so grateful to have her in my life. She is unapologetically herself and I love her for that. Through fire, stroke, and pandemic all within the last decade and she is still cooking, cleaning, and hanging out. Not to mention sporting a #mortasay shirt.
