âMy show opens tomorrow and nervous doesnât even put into words my feelings.â
âWhy in the hell are you nervous? Have you seen yourself perform? Youâll do amazing. I swear.â
Try not to die around me, if Iâm not on the clock, I will not save your life.
Got it. Just one question, why is a half-assed good Samaritan in the business of saving lives?
âA certain someone? Care to tell me a little more about them? Picking out flowers is fun!â
âHaha, yeah- heâs the sweetest, definitely unconventional. But thatâs the thing, I donât know much about him. We just met and I just want to be nice. I might get someone myself! Iâm thinking about doing some redecorating.â

Jasper smiled, enthralled by her eyes; they were sparkling in the fluorescent bathroom light. He felt engulfed by them, entranced even. He listened to her speak but could barely focus - she was so beautiful to him in that moment, the room spinning slightly as he stumbled out of the bathroom with her hand in his.
The dancing was exactly what Jasper needed. His blood felt like it was pulsing through his body, the loud bass drilling into his brain and becoming part of him. His body moved in time to the beat, warm and relaxedâhe felt good. Jasper looked towards his new companion, stunned a little by her beauty yet again. She moved near to him, turning and closing the space between their bodies, his chest pressed to her back. The crowd quickly became packed, until they had no space between them. Jasper placed his hands on her hips, holding them and pulling her body even closer to him.
The music was pounding through his body, making him feel as though he and Jasmine were connected, their bodies swaying and shaking together, in time to the tune. Jasper couldnât help but smile, the whole situation making him feel alive with ecstasy. He spun Jasmine around so she was facing him, gently running a thumb over Jasmineâs cheek, curious - it was as soft as it looked. He laughed to himself, at how high he was. âI like you, Jasmine. Youâre fun. Youâre a lot of fun.â
Having a good time wouldâve been a complete understatement for Jasmine. She was no longer in her sobriety- feeling nothing but complete stimulation from all areas. Together the two gyrated, jumped, and just lived in the moment to the music that crawled out of the speakers. This was what made the days worth it, the nights that left you barely standing- or in in Jasmineâs case, breathing. Jasper managed to take her breath away and she barely knew him. He couldâve been anyone and the mere thought made her cringe, thinking about her ex, but that chapter died a long time ago.
Spinning on her heels, the girl faced her new friend- her eyes bright and full of excitement. With Jasper caressing her cheek, Jas could only feel millions of tiny needles prickling away as her skin. Her heart was beating a little too fast, even faster than her mind was working which was making her dizzy. She grabbed onto his forearms for support, not letting go until she was sure she wouldnât hit the ground- she wasnât ready yet. Not until she was sure sheâd meet him again. Jasmine leaned in when she saw his lips moving, Craning her neck so his words fell directly into her ear. She pulled back, grinning. taking a hold of his hands once again.
Without another words, Jasmine led Jasper through the rambunctious crowd of people. She giggled as she felt droplets of alcohol fly onto the exposed areas of her skin, turning around from time to time to make sure Jasper was still close behind. Finally reaching the door, the blonde swung it open, bringing the two outside. In comparison to Jasper and the tall apartment buildings, Jasmine felt like an ant, but safe. She knew sheâd always feel safe around him. They circled the building, coming to a stop when she led him to a small alleyway with streetlights on both ends. âI could barely hear you before.â She giggled as she gently pushed him against the brick wall. âBut I heard a bit. I like you too Jasper. I donât know who you are and what you want, but I want to see you again.â For a minute she was solemn with her words, trying to be as serious as the drugs would let her. However, it wasnât long before she was smiling again, leaning forward to plant a small kiss on his lips. âYouâre a lot of fun.â
âWelcome to Fannyâs Flowers! How can I help you?â

âHey, youâre not a dick. Not at all, I was just being fuckhead,â Jasper said quickly, feeling shittier than heâd like to admit for making Jasmine feel that way. He didnât usually care much about people he met at parties, and he especially didnât care what they thought of him, but it was undeniable - he wanted to impress this girl, wanted her to like him. He didnât know why, but he was drawn to her. She was enchanting, different. He smiled as she explained how she knew their friend, nodding. âThat sounds cool. Heâs a great fuckinâ guy. One of my favorite customers.â Jasper reflected, the cocaine coursing through his veins making him euphoric. âForeign kid? Shit.â his brows furrowed, thinking - if he wasnât as high as he would, heâd probably be pissed off. He wasnât one to get mad about someone selling on his âturfâ, but it sounded like this guy already had a great rep, and if he wanted to make any sales heâd have to start competing with the guy.
The thought slipped away almost instantly when Jasmine began speaking again, his concentration turned completely to her. He could think about it later on, anyway. âThis is imported. Comes from a place in South America,â Jasper grinned, locking eyes with Jasmine for a moment. âIf you wanna dance, I wanna dance. Letâs go.â Jasper murmured, placing his hands on her hips for a moment before she peeled away. They snaked between people to the center of the room, Jasper grabbing her hand and pulling her through groups of people gyrating against each other. The bass boomed loudly through the room as he turned to face Jasmine, flashing her a grin as he stepped closer to her, hips swaying as he moved.
Jasmine automatically managed a child-like smile. âYou werenât being a fuckhead. You were being weird- but it was cute.â She reassured him with a playful nudge on the shoulder. It felt good to be back on track. Everything seemed to be going too well too fast. The week had been merciless and in one night she was higher than she had been in years and hanging out in the bathroom with the kind of guy youâd only see in your dreams. He was dangerously handsome- Jasmine being certain that she wasnât hallucinating. She wasnât that high to have such an extensive conversation by herself- she couldnât be. As he spoke, the petite woman poked at his abdomen. He was definitely real. So how in the hell was she this lucky to have stolen him away from the rest of the world. Well, one thing was for sure- he had to have had a girlfriend. As soon as the thought crossed her mind, Jasmine automatically furrowed her brows. Where did that come from? Why did she even care? The chances of them meeting again were slim to none and she was wasting this moment thinking, again. âHmm? Oh yeah, heâs something else- heâs how I got started.â She admitted sheepishly. Now he probably thought she was uncool and just another groupie. âYeah, heâs from- fuck, L.A? I donât know Iâd be lying if I said I was listening all the way.â Shrugging her shoulders, Jasmine laughed at her blunder. âHonestly, Iâve never bought from someone- directly, if that makes sense. I usually give him my money, he goes and buys it, and probably gives he his shitty leftovers.â
âSouth America. Iâve never been, donâât think Iâve ever gone- but Iâve been to Paris..â With her eyes meeting his, Jasmine could help but wander off with her words. She fell silent, just looking into them. The colors baited her in, while her heart raced around the room. Gulping silently, she cleared her throat and looked away. Â âWhat?â Jasmine turned to him and laughed. Before she knew it, the two of them left the bathroom and made their way onto the living room/dance-floor. It was congested with the mosh-pit of dancers- it seemed as though everyone was dancing with everyone. Chills raced down her spine when he grabbed her hand but felt like nothing compared to when he had touched her waist. Nevertheless, the moment she felt the force of the bass piercing her chest, the only thing Jasmine could feel was the music and the only thing she could see was Jasper. She cheered him on as he started dancing, smirking as he neared her. Her instinct told her to to close the gap between them and she did, her body moving to the music. Her hair flew wildly to the music, her hands gently coiled around Jasperâs neck, and her back now pressed against his chest, moving in synch with him.â
âThank my brother, itâs his. And no problem. Howâre you feeling today?â
âSend him my love a thousand times over. I feel like shit, but itâs what I get- right? I didnât inconvenience you or anything-right?â
Itâs harder said then done, unfortunately. Thatâs what they say anyway but you and I both know thatâs not true. Or a taxi cab driver. Only thirty but itâs been at least 8 years sense Iâve been a student. It just feels like a long time. Youâd be amazed at how quickly things can pile up.
Yeah, but youâve got it under control-right? Thatâs complete and utter bullshit. But you have to smile and deal with it anyways for the sake of a potential sale. Hey, Iâd rather a cabie than a sales associate at least youâre not confined to a crowded space all day. And drunk people are the funniest. So why donât you just go back to school- thatâs what I did. Would you like some help?
