procrastinating on my book again. I already missed last year's deadline and learned nothing apparently because I am going the same way now. 1.5 pages of 30+ written, why am I like this? this sucker needs to be done by mid november incl illustrations and I have like 9 sewing commissions to finish before the end of the year despite me claiming 2024 was the year I was only going to sew for my own family. Urgh.

JWM 2024

I feel like I could do a little life update again, in case you've wondered. I used to have a post from 2022 in my pinned post but the link somehow got broken, idk. Anyway...

I'm still in remission, 3rd year and counting. There's been a few scares and some hospital visits along the way, but all of it had to do with aftereffects of the chemo and while annoying, weren't lifethreatening. I have shoulderlength hair again, which still feels like a novelty. My family life is doing ok.

I get daily emails from A03 and it makes me happy to know people are still reading fics.

I wish I could tell you I've been writing more, but apart from a yearly issue of a children's book series that I write for my son (5th comes out this christmas) I haven't been able to string 5 words together. My mind drifts a lot. I am actually writing this to procrastinate from writing the new book, lol. Focus is hard. I don't know if being ill made my adhd worse or if it's just old age- either way I find it super hard to bring any of my ideas out of my head onto paper.

So what do I do? I have started sewing plushies this year (mostly dragons) and now work on small-scale commission in my area for some pocketmoney to invest into new fabrics. One can never have too many dragons, right?

I'd love to hear from you if you see this post on your dash, and if you changed your username lately, I'd appreciate a little reminder. What are you up to and into? My whole dash is new things! Who are these boyband dudes? :) What's hot?

Oh, Sebastian. To be honest, Sebastian is good at manipulating situations, but when he enters the show, he’s a most, seventeen years old. And having worked with teenage boys via my awful tutoring job, he probably doesn’t think about what comes out of his mouth much at all. I’m thinking about this dead woman joke all the boys were laughing about, but they told it to all the female teachers, even though I told them that none of us would laugh… But they say all kinds of horrific things, and it’s a chore to get them to realize that these things aren’t actually funny.

Sebastian just reads people for filth and throws out gendered insults because it’s supposed to be funny. Which is a problem, because when it comes down to it, he does care when it comes to how KURT thinks of him, and it kind of throws up a roadblock between them. He has to mature a little before he and Kurt can get on the same page.
