HUFFLEPUFF: “Be humble. Be hungry. And always be the hardest worker in the room.” –Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
As my friend put it, to sum up:
A finance secretary that “forgot” to disclose $100 million. An education secretary that doesn’t understand the basic debates over how to teach our children, thinks the IDEA needs to be looked at and is a matter better left to the states, won’t agree to uphold the 2011 guidance on campus sexual assault, and has zero experience with public education (unless you count trying to take money away from public schools). An energy secretary that thought his job was to represent oil interests. A state secretary who was picked to actually represent American oil interests. An EPA admin who wrote a letter under his AG nameplate that was composed by an energy corp. An HHS secretary that invested in health stocks and then introduced bills that benefited those companies. A senior advisor who is a clear white supremacist. An attorney general who was denied as a federal judge because a republican senate deemed him too racist. A HUD secretary who is Ben Carson. A president who nominated these clowns. And a republican senate that is so wicked, corrupt, and cowardly that every single one of these nominees will be confirmed. An OMB director who “forgot” to pay $15,000 in taxes on his household employees. An agriculture secretary who prayed for rain to end a drought.
Awesome.
Like I said before, we’re all gonna die
Oh, you’re barely getting started:
A Secretary of Education who wants to dismantle public education, and whose husband wants creationism taught in public schools.
A Secretary of Energy who wanted to eliminate the Department of Energy.
A Secretary of State who is so supportive of Russia and Vladimir Putin that he won’t condemn murdering journalists and bombing civilians.
An Environmental Protection Agency Administrator who opposes environmental protection and is a climate-change skeptic.
A Secretary of Health and Human Services who wants to dismantle Medicare.
An Attorney General who opposes the Voting Rights Act; who will not pursue alleged civil rights violations by police and police departments; who called civil rights groups like the NAACP and ACLU “un-American” and “Communist-inspired”; and who thinks that grabbing a woman “by the pussy” isn’t sexual assault.
A Secretary of Housing and Urban Development who opposes the Fair Housing Act.
A Secretary of Labor who opposes the minimum wage.
A Secretary of the Treasury who helped cause the financial crisis.
A National Security Advisor who says “Fear of Muslims is RATIONAL” and won’t rule out torture.
A Committee on Vaccine Safety chairman who is a vaccine conspiracy theorist.
C’mon, join in! This is fun!
Yessssssss to all of the additions. Plus each day more and more ridiculousness abounds.
Oh, also please excuse the typos & formatting issues on the original post, I added to/”edited” it while day drinking.
‘Draining the Swamp’
As the, ‘Make America’s Monied Elite Great Again’ Candidate put it during his bid to win the office he now holds.
I suppose we could call it ‘alt-Draining the Swamp’ since redefining words seems to be the new RepCon trend.
Don’t forget DeVos owes Ohio $5 million dollars from a fine.
“Drain the swamp” actually meant “remove the scientists and experts, anyone who is part of that liberal east coast elite”
‘drain the swamp’ = ‘dump a ton of non-native landscaping on top of the (undrained) bird refuge, stiff the contractors, then charge $10k/month to wade around the amazing new golf course and tacky-ass clubhouse.’
DeVos also thinks that ADA-mandated accommodations for disabled students should be “up to the states”.

Not Much Progress
Not a whole lot to update in my journey at the moment, I tossed another pair of leggings since it began to get a hole in the knee. But I've not had a day off work. I can't wait to continue working on this journey of ridding my life of all this stuff that I don't need and use.
My only big change is ridding my life mostly of Facebook. I still have Facebook Messenger for friends that I don't have phone numbers of we can stay in contact. I still occasionally check it when I am on my laptop but I deleted it off my phone, which is great.
My only other plan as of right now is to downgrade my computer. Which is going from a major Acer Ultrabook with Windows 10 down to a Chromebook. This is a small process. My boyfriend with keep my Ultrabook and we will rid ourselves of his that's been broken and barely working for months. I'm currently eying the new Samsung Chromebook Plus that releases in mid-February, I will update once I figure that out for sure or purchase it and then I will let those know what I think about it. Mostly switching to that due to the Android and Chromebook capabilities.
I continue to get excited about this journey, and this is how I continue to know that this is where my life is supposed to lead, this is the correct direction that I am supposed to take to get where I want to be. I am also starting to work on the $5 Money Challenge in addition to the 52 Week Money Challenge to continue to save as much as I can.

Step One Complete
I did not get as much as I wanted out of getting rid of my clothes, but I would start with that I got rid of over a hundred articles of clothing. It wasn't an easy process and I didn't realize that I was as attached to my clothing as I am. But step one is complete. I went from probably having over two hundred articles of clothing to 61 pieces, this includes my seasonals, I live in Colorado so we do get some temperature extremes so seasonals are a little more important than not. This number does not include my underwear and socks as socks seem to be something that gets lost often and underwear because I've not the opportunity to really go through it yet.
So step two is going to be to go through the underwear and to try and take down my 61 pieces to about 50 pieces of clothing. This process will take down some possible work clothes and maybe some t-shirts. I will continue to try and document my personal journey through ridding myself of clutter and most of these things that I believed I had a connection to.
My Journey Towards Minimalism
These are scary words for me... My Journey Towards Minimalism. I've struggled with Bipolar most of my life, material goods have helped me through a lot of that. Buying things to make me happy... the only thing is, I am not happy. That takes a lot to say, I am not happy. Things in my life make me smile, but my overall mental well being would most definitely fall under the Not Happy category.
So I've tried this journey before, but I've never honestly tried. I feel that to become happy I must try. I must do my absolute best try. I don't know where this journey will take me or honestly if it will last, but if I can even take the steps to begin to a happier life, to begin to rid my life of zoning out on the computer while watching hours and hours of television with not a better thing to do.
So where does one start? Where does one begin when picking up the majority of their life and rid of it? I started with money... No, no, not to rid my life life of money, that is still a necessity. But no, I will not be ridding myself of money. What I did do with money instead was beginning to save it. This is something that I have also struggled with my entire life. Money tends to burn a hole in my pocket, not a good thing when you're nearly 26 and actually trying to begin a real life without as much stress.
I want to be happy, one of the biggest ways I can see myself happy in the future is by traveling, a passion that I've always had but never had the money to be able to do. By ending my spending habits I can look forward to be able to do this. Traveling is important and as I once read 'you don't have a passion for something if you continue to make excuses on why you can't do it'. I don't want excuses, I was experiences.
So currently I am working on the '52 Week Money Challenge' where you save money based upon the week that you are in. i.e. Week 1 you save $1.00 and Week 52 you save $52.00. So this is cool and an easy way to do it. At least as of right now it is, but I've only saved $6.00 so we'll watch the journey through the next 49 weeks. By the end of 52 weeks I should have saved $1,378.00, that is good news. I've made a whole chart that also adds things up on if I save anything extra. So during these first few months will be the best time for me do that. My overall goal is to begin saving at least $50 a month in addition to what I am saving with the 52 Week Money Challenge. That's an extra $600 in a year, getting me close to $2000 a year, which would be good. That is where I want to be.
My next step which is the biggest step for me is to get rid of clothes that I don't wear. This is always a struggle for me, so I may try The 333 Challenge. I will post more on this once I begin that journey. Hopefully soon. If you have any tips or tricks to make this journey a better one, please let me know.
