Avery: Good luck with that.

Avery: She's just so... charming. And it seems like she's trying. And when I'm around her my emotions are all heightened and most of the time I go between wanting to smile at her, fuck her, or hit her... which is an accurate description of our relationship before she left. This time though, it just kind of feels like she's done a lot of growing up. I'm praying my gut isn't wrong.

Jyn: One day I'll figure it out.

Jyn: Just remember charming people can be dangerous sometimes. Except me, I'm just adorable charming.

Jyn: It sounds like you want to give her a chance. Maybe just not dive head first into everything.

“That’s definitely wishful thinking right there.  I think we’d all love a little breather.”  It was the truth.  Most of her patients were at their wits end, she was the only think keeping them sane enough to remain in this town.  Her lips quirked when Jyn spoke about Gillian Anderson.  “She most certainly is perfect.  Gorgeous, talented, and her speaking voice does me in.  She’s one of those women that only continues to get more and more attractive with age.  She’s the main reason I enjoy it as much as I do.”

“Yeah, just consider me the optimist out of everyone.” She shrugged slightly, grabbing a drink ticket from the waitress. “Kind of the same thing with Angie Harmon. So, enough about me. What do you like to watch?” She asked with a warm smile, grabbing everything and starting to make the drinks out of pure muscle memory.

Avery: No.

Avery: Maybe.

Avery: She had a meeting about a permanent position on the town paper. Part of me wants to believe that she truly is going to stay but the other part of me is reminding me that my walls are a mile high for a reason.

Jyn: I really need to figure out a sure fire way to turn :| into :)

Jyn: It's a hard thing to think about I guess. You obviously still have feelings for her, but there's good reason why you are how you are.

“I’ve lived here long enough to know that the next crisis is waiting just around the bend.”  She shook her head a little and brought the glass back up to her lips.  “Sci-fi… are you an X-files fan at all?  I was a little obsessed with that show growing up.  I’m actually really excited they released new episodes just recently.”  

“Unfortunately, I have too. I still try to hold out a little bit of hope though. Maybe one day everything will finally quiet down.” For just once, that’s all Jyn really wanted. Some time that this town wasn’t running around going crazy about something or another. “I used to watch it as a kid. I wasn’t like a super fan or anything but it was definitely cool. Not to mention Gillian Anderson was and still is perfect.”

lyra-morton:

“I know he’s your friend, but I like you more than him. Not to mention, you’re the moral compass here, not me. I mean, it’s not his fault he sucks and you’re clearly the superior spousal option. Well, the first part is, but the second part is just the way things go.” She gave a slight smile. “I don’t think I mind. It’s reassuring. And she doesn’t hate you, she just loves to act like she hates you. Amazingly, there is a difference. I know, I was surprised at first too.”

“Well, I’m glad you like me more than him. I’d feel like a pretty bad sister if you didn’t.” She started fidgeting with her cup, listening to Lyra with a small smile. “It’s not easy being the moral compass, you know. As long as she doesn’t actually hate me, I guess I can live with all the ridiculousness she throws my way sometimes.”

Lyra: I'll try to believe you for now, for the sake of temporal efficiency.

Lyra: But you guys better watch each other's backs since I won't be there to do it for you.

Lyra: And I'm going to say the clone, opposable thumbs and all that.

Jyn: Thanks for at least trying.

Jyn: I always watch her back, it'll be fine.

Jyn: True, true. Thumbs can complicate things.

Lyra: You'd better.

Lyra: I swear Jyn, if something happens, you're going to be in big trouble with me!

Lyra: Of course. We got rid of the creepy clone and the killer bunny, so I think we'll be okay.

Jyn: If something happens I'd probably die [erased]

Jyn: Nothing is gonna happen to us.

Jyn: I don't know which is more terrifying, creepy clone or killer bunny.

Lyra: And a back up plan. I want both of you walking out of there alive.

Lyra: Considering how crazy he is, he'll either be impossible to find, or just strolling down the street.

Jyn: And a backup plan. We'll be fine.

Jyn: That is unfortunately very accurate.

Jyn: You just stay safe okay?

“Um, rude. If that happen, I at least deserve recognition.” She said with a scoff. “I know. I think I’ve just been a bit shaken up about this whole Davenport thing. Like, I know I live my life immersed in the supernatural, but I din’t think that was going to include super villains too.” Lyra shook her head at the absurdity of it all. “That sounds right. And I’m glad you do. I don’t think Cecelia-” She paused, “Yeah, I’m glad you keep an eye out for her. She’s a good person, and we can use as many of those in this town as we can get.”

“I know you don’t like Liam, but you could at least be a little sympathetic towards him.” Jyn gave her a pointed look before shaking her head. “Yeah, all this is a little insane. You still have to deal with me being overprotective until things get back to normal.” At the mention of Cecelia, Jyn couldn’t help the small smirk that formed on her face. “And I keep an eye on Cecelia, even if she hates me sometimes.”

Lyra: No, I won't. But it is tempting.

Lyra: Do you have a plan? I don't want you dealing with him without a plan.

Lyra: And maybe a back up plan, just in case.

Jyn: We'll have a plan before we go into it.

Jyn: First thing is just making sure we know where he is.

Any time their eyes caught and lingered her heart felt this tug, this pull to be closer to the younger woman.  The more she resisted it, the more of a struggle it became… almost as if it hurt.  “Thank you.  Zombies are a hard limit, especially after this town fiasco.”  She cleared her throat gently.  “So uhm… what other movies do you think we should watch?”

“Hopefully, this town fiasco is the end of all of whatever the hell it is that’s going on.” She kept an eye on the rest of the bar and restaurant, making sure nothing was getting out of hand as she spoke to Meredith. “I’m up for any kind of movies. I’m just kind of a sci fi nerd.”
