“The world is changing. Soon there will only be the conquered and the conquerors. You are a good man, with a good heart. And it’s hard for a good man to be a king.”

Some of us might not have known her as Debbie Reynolds, the award-winning actress, dancer, singer, and humanitarian. Or as the beautiful Carrie Fisher’s mother. But for millions of us growing up as children, she was Aggie Cromwell, the witty, magical grandma we all wished we had. Although we know she’s more than a former character on Disney Channel, she affected the childhoods of many, including my own, teaching us life lessons that we carried with us into adulthood.
Thank you, Debbie Reynolds. May you be at peace with Carrie. We’re going to desperately miss you both.
Being normal is vastly overrated.

‘’My birthday is the day after Christmas, so it’s always the same. My whole family just descends on my birthday and I get no attention. And I like attention. So, I always end up getting really grumpy and selfish on my birthday.’’
Happy 30th Birthday, Kit!
I am one with the force, and the force is with me.
On Dallas:
1) The protesters and the snipers are two different entities… Black Lives Matter protesters would NEVER reduce their movement to the murdering of officers. These shooters were methodical and skilled, and in no way do they represent what BLM is about.
2) Cointelpro and other corrupt factions of government/police surveillance and infiltration have been known to hire informants to enter protest movements and organizations covertly to disrupt and discredit them. This includes local police donning street clothes to pose as protesters to escalate non-violent demonstrations, thus triggering police to respond even more violently towards civilians. Such may be the case in the Dallas shootings.
3) Mark Hughes aka the person of interest whose photo was blasted all over the media was a peaceful protester carrying a gun in an OPEN CARRY state. He spoke to police the minute he found out he was being hunted by them as a suspect, and he has since cleared his name.
4) A civilian was shot, a Black woman named Shetamia Taylor, who was hit when she was defending her child from gunfire. Please do not erase her from this narrative.
5) While the loss of life in Dallas is serious, watch how differently the nation and the media will treat the deaths of officers compared to how slain Black civilians have been treated. I can almost guarantee that the officers will receive swift justice, won’t have their dead bodies spread across newspapers, won’t have unflattering photos of themselves plastered everywhere, which I sadly cannot say with confidence for Alton Sterling, Stephanie Hicks, Essence Bowman, Philando Castile, Dylan Noble, Delrawn Small, or the countless others murdered by police in recent days.
There will be a difference in outcry, there will be words and actions of retaliation against Black communities. People will say that blue lives matter, despite the fact that the law and history have already proven they do.
All we can do now is wait for the truth to unfold and stand by our beliefs, stand up for one another, continue to stand up for Black communities and those who have felt suffering under police power, and try to take care of ourselves.

“Turquoise helps to open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word. It presents as a friendly and happy color enjoying life. In color psychology, turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability. It radiates the peace, calm and tranquility of blue and the balance and growth of green with the uplifting energy of yellow.”
