Here’s a snippet of a story I began writing way back when and never posted!
Genre: horror/thriller
Groups: BTS x Loona
Yeojin.
Her name. That was the first thing she could remember before even opening her eyes. As she began to awake from whatever slumber she had been in there wasn’t much else to remember other than that. Her name. She couldn’t remember when or where she had supposedly fallen asleep, or how long it had been since she was last awake. Eyes fluttering open, the first thing she noticed was how cold she was. Shivers were sent through her body as she looked straight ahead, all that could be seen was a white ceiling. At least she assumed it was white, the room or wherever it was she had found herself seemed to be quite dark. Making the presumed white ceiling look more of a dark grey.
She could feel hard concrete under her body, she was laying on the floor. She was desperate to look around and find out where on earth she was, nothing seemed familiar, but she couldn’t bring herself to move. The truth being Yeojin was completely terrified, with no clue of where she was and the overwhelming feeling that she was in some sort of danger she found herself frozen. That was until she heard an unholy screech coming from somewhere in the distance. The noise pierced the silence that surrounded her as she jolted up into a sitting position. Hand on her chest she swallowed hard, her heart was racing at a mile a minute and her breath had sped up from the scare. She instantly started looking for her phone, searching her pockets and the space around her but it was nowhere to be seen. No way of communicating with anyone.

Idk how many of you r still active on here but hey ? It’s been years and I kinda wanna write again. I never got far enough or as many stories as I wanted on here so maybe I’ll try again
Currently I am the only person writing for this blog and as enjoyable as it is its become clear to me (and probably those of you who follow) its not easy.
I wanted to write for so many different groups and fandoms but I am one person!
so I am now looking for members to join this blog and help me create a place full of amazing stories.
requirements are :
Enjoy writing and being creative
18 + if you are wanting to write any smut or any other adult content
16+ for everything else (as long as we wont have issues with age, I'd like to give younger writers a chance too)
Be a genuine and nice person I don't want any bigots/bullies
You don't have to feel pressured when writing for this blog! Post as often as you want/can if that is not very often as life gets in the way sometimes its not a problem! (I'm not good with any of that myself) As long as you enjoy being part of this blog that's all that matters.
If you have any interest in this please give me a message so we can chat and sort it out!!

All her life she was looking for something more, something that was missing. Everyday she embarked on a journey to find the thing to fill the hole in her heart. To find what would lift the darkness that settled upon her shoulders or the addictive and toxic thoughts that occupied her brain on most days. It wasn’t that she didn’t enjoy her life, there were many moments she could recall when she felt true happiness, joy and fulfilment but as time goes on and people grow some things can feel like a million years ago. Life had so much more to offer her and yet it felt too far for her to ever reach.
Sometimes it was the sleepless nights, no matter how tired she felt or how much her body ached. It was the silent crying in the privacy of her bedroom when things felt too much or the sudden outburst of tears in public when things got overwhelming. It was the crushing feeling from small mistakes or the crippling anxiety of failing at anything and everything. It was throwing on a smile in front of everyone whether or not it was real or when she refused to smile at all and locked herself away so others couldn’t see that she was weak and out of control. It was the dull ache of life getting hard and the intense pain of trying to get through it. It was the rain splattering down to the ground on a stormy day and the thunder bellowing from above, the anger and hurt, the hopelessness. It was sitting in a room full of people and feeling the loneliest she ever had. It was laying in bed for days not bothering to change. It was the racing thoughts of failure going through her head at a mile a minute and then the deafening silence that followed with emptiness. Maybe she was broken, had a screw loose or a wire cut. Or maybe it was the state of the world, it was the hatred and bullying. It was wars and famine. It was global warming and endangered species. It was the planet ripping apart at the seams.
But sometimes, sometimes it was a good night's sleep, waking up refreshed and replenished and energised. It was the music blaring from her speakers as she put on her own concert in her bedroom or the giggling that came along with jokes and friendship. It was accepting small errors and turning them into a learning experience. It was having fun, going on adventures and showing genuine joy. It was knowing that struggling was a sign of strength not weakness. It was the relief when things got easier and the weight that lifted when it was finally getting better. It was the warm rays of sun dancing across her skin and the cool breeze that came along with it. It was ice cream melting on a summer's day by the pool. It was the calmness and excitement, the hopefulness. It was sitting in a room full of people and feeling the most loved and content she could. It was shopping for new clothes and trying out new styles, it was dressing up with her friends for a party or a get together. It was the zooming thoughts of creativity and ideas followed by a peaceful mind and a new thing to strive for in the morning. Maybe she was just fine, everything was in place and she was just as happy as others. Or maybe it was the state of the world, it was the love spread through family, friends and even strangers. It was countries celebrating legalising gay marriage and abortion. It was all the people helping heal the climate and look after the animals. It was festivals and beautiful scenery. It was inspiring the next generation to do good. It was knowing that there was so much to see and do. It was art museums. It was concerts. It was the sun and the snow. It was the ocean and the land. It was the planet fixing itself.
Life had so much more to offer and it was in her reach. She was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and chase it.
She is the one reading this. She is the one writing this. She is the one who scrolled past. She is not she at all. She is he. She is they. She is a mother, a father, a child. She is everyone who lives, who feels and who is.
This is a story, yes but not one of fiction. It is a very difficult time in the world at the minute and 2020 was not kind to us. Between the pandemic and everything else that has been going on I know its been hard for everyone. I’ve had a lot of thoughts and feeling about the way the world has been working recently and needed to get it written down. So I ended up writing this, its not much but i hope its enough to convince people to carry on and to not let how shitty things have been stay that way. We all know it will pass but its hard to keep telling yourself that when it feels like there’s no end.
With that being said I hope that someone, anyone can go along after reading this with a little more hope in their heart for the future. and if not then at least I know I’ve made myself feel a little better getting it out.
Hello dear followers! With the situation the world has been in lately it’s been hard to concentrate on writing.
While I adore the secrets series I’ve come to realise that I hate how I’ve written it. My writing style has significantly changed and improved since starting and it’s very clear from early chapters.
This is why I’ve decided to rewrite it. And while it’s not even finished yet hopefully I can gather where the actual story is going (I sort of wing it with a very thin outline of what I want).
I hope you all understand and accept that it’s going to be on hold for a while. But don’t worry! Hopefully I’ll be getting other content out, mostly one shots or very short stories.
Thank you all so much for your support so far and as always
Just an update friends!! I’ve been working really hard on this secrets 2.0 thing.
I’ve decided to combine some chapters into one and can proudly say I’ve got the first 3 chapters rewritten into one and have more than doubled the word count for these chapters.
Hopefully this will be a better reading experience for you when I post it

Summary: You’re they only one who knows about Jimin’s secret but there’s someone else you didn’t know about...
Jimin’s POV
It was almost time for us to meet back up after some time to try and relax. We needed as much down time as we could get, this was going to be very stressful for us all so we thought it would be best to calm ourselves whenever possible. I had been watching youtube videos for an hour or two and was surprisingly a lot calmer, the power of youtube I guess. Everyone had taken some books home with them as we hadn’t really decided where we were meeting yet just the time. Y/n and Irene had to work but the rest of us were free so I was gonna try and see if Lisa could come help as we were using her books and she did say she would try to help. Just as I was thinking about it my phone got a notification, it was Lisa.
Lisa: Hey jimin! How are things going with the research? Sorry I had to bail last minute!
Me: Dont worry about it, you had to go! And good? We didnt get a whole lot of information because half of us were in the woods :/ BUT Irene found out about the moon cycles. Are you free? We are meeting up and theres actually a lot to tell you.
I put my phone back down after replying to her, I hoped she could make it, we could really use her expertise and if not hers then her family’s. I was wondering if there might have been anyone else she knew that could help us out, this was a threat to the entire supernatural community after all. It wasn’t just us in danger and with that beast running around the ordinary humans were in trouble too. After a minute or two I received another message from Lisa.
Lisa: Yeah Im free. What time and where? I will see if theres anything else i can bring that might be helpful.
Me: Thats great! We havent picked where but we are meeting up in about 2 hours
Telling Lisa that reminded me that we still needed somewhere to go so I decided to message the group chat to see where we would be conducting our research tonight.
Me: Hey guys Lisa is coming to help tonight. Where are we gonna go?
I was instantly met with replies from the others.
Hoseok: I dont mind where we go maybe just not my place nc yoongi is a grump and wasnt happy with being woken up early last time lol
Jungkook: How about our place
Taehyung: our place is free if nowhere else is?
Jin: All those in favour of Jk and taes place say EYE
Namjoon: You mean I?
Jin: I know what i said and i meant it. All those in favour!
Tae: EYE
Me: EYE
Jungkook: EYE
Hoseok: EYE
Yoongi: eye
Namjoon: I
Jin: So its settled see you guys later!!
I texted Lisa back letting her know where we were meeting. She didn’t know where Taehyung’s was so I offered to go with her. We agreed she would come by my place first and then we would go meet the other’s. That way I could catch her up on everything before we got there. And that's exactly what we did.
Lisa got to my apartment around three thirty and from there we made our way over to Taehyung’s place in her car. I explained everything, from being chased by the beast twice, to the whole france thing, the witch with the book and how she contacted us all in our sleep and what we found out about the cycles.
“That’s… That’s some crazy shit for one day.” She huffed glancing at me momentarily before sticking her eyes back onto the road.
“Yeah and I got a feeling there's much more where that came from.”
“So do you guys definitely know it's Jungkook’s grandmother?” She asked.
“Well not for definite but we are pretty sure considering he said it was her voice. I don’t think we will find out unless he asks her. I sort of wish he would but that's up to him.” I explained.
“That's true, you don’t wanna force him to ask and then freak him out even more. Seems like you guys have enough evidence though.”
After a few more minutes of driving we finally got to their apartment complex and got out of the car and grabbed the books we had brought from my place and headed up to their apartment.
“Oh yeah I forgot to ask. Do you think there’s anyone you know who could help us out? I know it’s a lot to ask but we do kind of need all the help we can get by the looks of things.” I asked Lisa as we got into the elevator.
“Uh yeah probably, I know Momo would definitely help. She has this thing about repaying us for helping her. Even though we’ve told her she doesn’t have to.”
“Is she human or supernatural?”
“She’s a kitsune.”
“Huh cool.”
“I’ll text her and ask.”
The elevator dinged and we got out and headed down the corridor of apartments, eventually we got to Taehyung and Jungkook’s place and I knocked on the door. I listened and could hear the other’s chatting away meaning we must have been the last to arrive. Taehyung opened the door with a big smile on his face.
“Hey!” He beamed.
“Someone’s overly happy?” I raised an eyebrow at him before continuing, “This is Lisa.” She waved.
“Namjoon brought snacks. Hi Lisa!”
He opened the door wider and let us in, I let Lisa go first and shut the door behind me as Taehyung hopped back over to the group in the living room.
“Thank god I recognise everyone here.” I heard Lisa sigh and let out a little chuckle, I was way too familiar with the feeling of relief finding out there are no strangers in the room. We made our way over and greeted everyone quickly. We sat down in the little circle everyone had made on the floor to start discussing and researching.
“Well with all of this chaos and bad luck I bring some good news for you guys!” Lisa addressed the group and everyone’s faces lit up a little. “I think I can get us some more help, the more the merrier right?!”
“That’s great! Who is it?” Yoongi asked.
“Well I don’t know if you guys know her but it’s Momo. Hirai Momo?” Lisa told him, well the group.
“Oh yeah! She’s on one of the university dance teams!” Hoseok perked up in knowing who was helping or could possibly be helping.
“Oh I know Momo I’ve seen her around!” Jin suddenly recognised the name.
“Is she supernatural?” Namjoon asked.
“Yep. She’s a kitsune. I messaged her before about it. Just waiting on a reply.”
“Ooohh that’s cool!” Taehyung yelled.
“Wait what’s a kitsune?” JIn questioned, putting down a book he had in his hands.
“A kitsune is a fox spirit, they have many magical powers and after one hundred years of living they can shapeshift into human form. And as they get older they gain more tails.” Lisa happily explained. “Sorry I geeked out a bit. Kitsune’s are kinda cool.” She ran a hand through her hair and smiled shyly.
“All I got from that was that Momo is over a hundred years old!?” Jungkook practically shouted, shock written all over his face.
“Uh technically yeah.” Lisa laughed back at him.
We began putting the books down with the rest that had been brought over and started on our reading again. Lisa had also brought her laptop and for some things we used google too. We decided to put a little bit of music on instead of sitting in silence, it helped us keep focused as well. After a few minutes Jungkook spoke up but it wasn’t about anything he had found.
“Hey Namjoon, is Y/n working tonight?” He asked.
“Uh yeah she’s finishing up at the cafe and going straight there I think, I don’t start until nine though.” He answered without even looking up from the book he was reading.
So far we hadn’t found much but we weren’t giving up it took a little while for us, well Irene, to find the little passage about the irregular moon cycles so there was hope this wasn’t for nothing. Taehyung was also doing great at lifting everyone’s spirits. He was being so optimistic and I silently thanked him for that as it was something we really needed at the moment.
“Hey did anyone write down what Irene found about the moon cycles?” JIn asked out of nowhere.
“We’re writing shit down?” Jungkook questioned very seriously although he earned a few snickers from his remark.
“I mean no but I was just thinking maybe we should write really important stuff down so we don’t forget it?” Jin explained.
“Smart idea actually, someone write it down.” Namjoon agreed and demanded, Taehyung jumped up to go find a pen and paper. He disappeared into his room and within a few moments came back out holding up a pad of paper and a little pencil case. He sat back down and opened up the pad of paper and rummaged through the pencil case before bringing out a pen.
“I haven’t used this yet so this can be our ‘impending doom book’.” He smiled, taking the lid off of the pen and leaning over to write.
“So what was it? Irregular moon cycles every two thousand years?” He asked not looking up from the paper and already writing before receiving an answer.
“Uh yeah and they can last for months at a time.” Namjoon added.
“Also there's no known reason for it but wasn’t there a theory?” I asked around the circle.
“Uh yeah! It was something to do with the cycle around the galaxy I think.” Hoseok answered.
“Yeah it was about the positioning of the solar system in the galaxy Hobi.” Yoongi chimed in.
After a few more seconds Taehyung finished up his writing and put the pen down, a grin on his face.
“Our first bit of info in our Impending Book of Doom!”
“Do we have to call it that?” Jungkook sighed.
“Yes! It’s catchy!” Taehyung exclaimed.
“How is it catchy? That’s such a mouthful to say.” Yoongi asked.
“IBD. Impending Book of Doom!” He was very pleased with himself.
“I give him that one.” I announced receiving a cheer from Taehyung. Everyone else just laughed a little and went back to reading.
Y/n’s POV
I had no idea how I was supposed to just work and get on with my day while there was a beast running around the city trying to kill me and my friends. There was no getting out of working this time though, Henry made that very clear. I wasn’t looking forward to my nightshift at the club either but at least I had Namjoon there, it was great working with your friends. Plus working in the cafe gave me a chance to catch up with yugyeom and see how things had been with him. I hadn’t talked to him much since he went home after we magically got back from France, only to see that he got home in one piece. I could tell him about the little information that we had found and about Jungkook’s grandma too. It was the perfect opportunity as we were both on the closing shift and were going to be the last people in the cafe.
Everyone else would be meeting up soon to continue researching about this whole thing while I was putting on my uniform and making my way over to the cafe. At least it gave me some time to relax to some extent, although I knew that all I would be thinking about was going to be about this situation we had all landed in. As I was walking to work I got a message from Jimin.
Jimin: Hey currently still reading. Tae has decided to create an Impending Book of Doom for our info and we have Lisa here helping too. Oh also she thinks she can get someone else to help us, Hirai Momo. Do you know her??
Me: Thats great! And yeah i think i know Momo. Gonna assume Tae came up with the name lol.
Jimin: Uh yeah he did. Anyway, ill let you know if we find anything of importance and Namjoon will update you later too.
Me: Okay thats cool im gonna catch Yugyeom up on everything while we die of boredom. See ya later.
I put my phone back in my pocket and carried on walking, the sun was really hot at this time and wearing an all black uniform was not doing me any favours. I was basically boiling. Music filled my ears and as hot as it was I tried my best to enjoy it on my little journey. I was happy to hear that Lisa was giving a helping hand since she couldn't make it before, Also the fact that she was asking around for help meant a lot, it was going to be difficult to get rid of this thing. Whatever we had to do to get rid of it, it was already very clear that it wasn’t going to be an easy task. The more help we had the better chance we had at succeeding.
I was soon outside of my workplace and entered. I opened the door to see a good portion of tables taken up by customers, at least I wasn’t going to be as bored as last time. I saw Yugyeom and Jennie at the counter and gave them a quick wave before heading into the staff cupboard to put my things away. I took my jacket off and hung it up, unplugged my earphones and put them into the pocket. I kept my phone on me and just put it in the little pocket of my apron, incase of any important updates or emergencies. Who knew when that creature was going to strike again. I then made my way back into the main part of the cafe and over to the till to clock in on my shift. Once I did that I went into the kitchen to give Baekhyun and Wendy a quick greeting before getting on with my actual job.
“Boy am I glad you’re here!” Jennie sighed, giving me a little nudge.
“Busy?” I asked her as I began to sort some stock out.
“No. It just means that my shift is almost over. Finally!” She let out an exhausted breath and dramatically crashed her head onto Yugyeom’s shoulder. He shook her off and continued with the drink he was making.
“She’s been like this since I got here.” He told me, back turned away from us but it was clear that he was probably pulling a face.
“Hey! I was on an open shift, plus I’ve had to deal with so much shit today.” Jennie whined, explaining more to me than him. Even as someone made their way over to me for an order.
“I can’t wait for you to leave, all you’ve done is complain for the past three hours.” I heard Yugyeom carry on as I took the order and cash from the customer I was serving.
“Well that’s a blatant lie. You’ve only been here for like an hour and a half!” Jennie argued back, walking over towards the kitchen.
“I don’t have to be here to know you were complaining though. Flat white? Have a great day!” He retaliated before finishing off his service.
Jennie gasped and stormed off into the kitchen. I shook my head at their bickering, every shift without a doubt they would do this. They would be joking around again in five minutes, they were just both so dramatic when it came to banter.
I finished off the order I was making and of course sent them off with a smile, customer service for you, service with a smile otherwise we would be getting some bad reviews. I found a cloth and a sanitiser and took them out into the main area of the cafe to clear some tables I made sure to check on everyone's food and drink as I gained a collection of dirty plates, cups and glasses. I took them all back over into the kitchen for cleaning and gave Baekhyun a little bit of help with loading the dishwasher while I didn’t have a lot to do. Going back over to the tills I saw Jennie excitedly clocking off, slightly jumping up and down with a huge grin on her face. She then disappeared into the staff cupboard for a few moments before reappearing with her jacket on and bag in hand.
“Later losers!” She hopped past us in the direction of the door.
“I have never been happier to see you leave!” Yugyeom yelled over to her, the response? A very polite middle finger in the air to which he just rolled his eyes at her.
“Bye!” Jennie shouted once more before leaving while Yugyeom and I gave her a small wave each as she left.
I watched through the glass as she waved back from outside before she was eventually out of sight.
“So.” Yugyeom caught my attention and I looked over to him. “Any updates since, you know.” He put his hands out in front of him and made a claw gesture in reference to the beast.
“Uh a few.” I let out a sigh and scanned the cafe to see how busy it was before deciding to tell him everything. It wasn’t as busy as when I had clocked in, it had gotten a bit quieter due to the evening approaching.
“Well?” He asked as he prepared to polish some cutlery that had been washed. I decided to join him as I explained everything Grabbing a cloth and picking up a couple of forks.
“Where to start...Um, first off Jimin, Hoseok,Jungkook and Yoongi were chased again.” I kept my voice quite low trying to make sure no one else could hear me. Obviously Yugyeom didn’t have a problem hearing me so I could keep quiet.
“Wait really? Twice in one day? That’s...weird.” He paused his actions to confirm, I nodded.
“That’s not the weirdest thing. Jimin had a dream a few days ago about the beast.” I was practically whispering to him.
“So he’s psychic too?”
“He might as well be at this point.”
I carried on explaining everything that had happened within the last twenty four hours, it was a simple and dumbed down explanation because of the amount of people in the building but he got the idea. I decided on waiting until we closed to go into any further detail. Before I knew it Baekhyun and Wendy were saying their goodbye’s after cleaning up and closing the kitchen which just left me, Yugyeom and very few customers. Soon enough the cafe was empty and I found myself cleaning up with Yugyeom. I had put the closed sign up while we were sorting everything out. Yugyeom was clearing the tables as I cleaned all of the coffee machines and wiped down the counter area.
“Isn’t it weird how quick this has all popped up?” I had my back facing Yugyeom as he asked the question from the middle of the cafe.
“Yeah it did all happen quite quickly, this time last week there wasn’t even a sign that all of this was happening. Well apart from the irregular moon cycles but you know what I mean.” I replied, turning around to where some leftovers sat on the shelves. I was definitely taking some home with me.
“I think all that’s left to do is move the tables, brush and mop the floor and then put the cash in the safe right?” Yugyeom concluded as he walked back over to me, putting down his cleaning supplies on the counter.
“Uh yeah almost done, finally.” I let out a little huff and came around to the otherside to help move the furniture.
“You sound like Jennie.” Yugyeom snickered and I just sent him a slight glare, nothing too serious though.
We began moving the tables and chairs one by one, preparing to clean the floor.
“I think we still need more help.” I mumbled from one side of a big table we were carrying to the edge of the room. Not that Yugyeom couldn’t do it himself with his werewolf strength.
“You know Henry won't put more than two of us on a close shift.” Yugyeom told me from the other side, misunderstanding what I meant.
“Not about the cafe you dummy.” I let out a little giggle while we placed the table down and walked back over to its previous place to get the chairs. “The whole beast thing, Lisa asked Momo to help but I still think we need more, this thing seems really dangerous.”
“I mean I would ask my parents but that would only cause complications for the rest of us, even if they could get rid of it.” Yugyeom began dragging the chair he had over to where we took the table, not bothering to pick it up.
“Your parents know about the supernatural?” I asked, actually lifting my chair off of the ground and following him.
“Uh yeah, they don’t know about me though. They’re hunters and not the kind like Lisa’s family.” He explained, putting the chair down and moving on to the next table.
“What do you mean?” I asked not fully understanding what he meant.
“Well as far as I’m aware they still hunt the supernatural, which means if I asked for their help I would be putting everyone else and myself in danger.” He told me from across the room as we had separated to collect in the smaller tables on our own.
“Oh shit, that's rough. I’m sorry.” My voice was a little lower than it had been before.
“No need to apologise. It’s not your fault. I just hope one day they can accept the supernatural and help us instead of hunting us.”
“Me too.”
We finished moving all of the tables pretty much in silence, it wasn't an awkward one though, we had done this a hundred times before now. Yugyeom went and took the money from the till over into the safe while I grabbed the brush and began sweeping the floor since it was clear from tables and chairs. When Yugyeom returned he took the mop bucket and filled it up ready to clean the floor once I had finished sweeping. I put all of the dust and dirt I had brushed up into the bin, when I looked back Yugyeom was already halfway through the mopping. Someone was eager to go home. As was I but it was only half five and I would only be going home to get ready for my next shift which started at eight. At least I had Namjoon to speak to while I was working my ass off.
“Hey do you want some of these to take home?” I asked Yugyeom as I packed some of the baked goods into a takeaway box for myself.
“Ooh yes please!” His head shot up in excitement and I grabbed another box for him, and began packing some up for him too.
“Do you hear that?” He suddenly asked, he had stopped mopping by this point and stood very still.
“Hear what?” I looked over to him, it must have been something his werewolf senses picked up because I didn’t hear anything.
“Sounded like… Screaming or something.” He said quietly, he slowly turned his head towards the huge wall of glass and looked outside. Clearly looking for the source of the noise.
“Screaming?” I stopped what I was doing and walked over to him, after standing for a few moments I heard it.
“It’s getting louder…”
“Uh yeah I can hear it now.”
“Hey look...” Yugyeom pointed over in the distance.
I couldn’t see properly but I could make out the figures of people running, the screaming and shouting got louder as we watched more people sprint in all different directions. Then I saw it and I wished it wasn’t true. The head of the beast popped up from behind a car. It’s eyes as red as the last time I saw it.
“Shit.” I heard yugyeom whisper from next to me.
We both watched on in silence, the beast was destroying cars and clawing at people. Unfortunately for a few of them it looked as though it may have been fatal. My breath got caught in my throat as I saw it pick one person up in its claws and bite down on their torso, even from here the blood gushing out of them was visible, it made me feel sick. So far we hadn’t seen it cause actual harm but now? Now it was literally ripping people apart. Something I noticed though was that it seemed to be picking certain individuals to attack. There were so many people around as it walked but it seemed to scan the crowds of terror and pick out particular people. Then it stopped dead in its tracks and turned to look in our direction, it was closer now than when we first heard the screaming and it was clear it had seen us.
“It’s looking at us…” Yugyeom gulped from beside me but as I stared on I noticed that the beast's gaze wasn’t central. In fact it didn’t seem to be looking at me at all.
“No..” I began turning to Yugyeom, he glanced at me. “It’s looking at you..”
“What do you mean, me? We are both right here!” He waved his hands around, confused. I noticed the beast start to stride in our direction.
“Watch..” I moved myself away from Yugyeom, over to the other side of the room and watched the beast as I did so. It didn’t take notice of my movements and kept its eyes on the boy across the room. “It's looking at you!”
“It’s looking at me…”
Jin’s POV
I was starting to get sick of the sight of books, we had so many here and had been reading for about two hours now, with little to no success. Most of the group were still on their first book, apart from me, Jimin and Taehyung. I had started reading a book titled ‘Supernatural Beings And Their Abilities’. The title itself gave me some hope that it would be at least somewhat useful to the situation. It was sectioned into families, so things like witches, necromancers and warlocks were under the same section because of their similarities. I had gone straight to the section on canine like creatures and had begun reading up on something called am Amarok. It was apparently a huge arctic wolf that would hunt alone and devour anyone who would come into contact with it. There was a picture on the first page and it looked rather similar to what the others had described the beast as, except the colour of its fur was white.
“Hey guys does this look like that thing that chased you?” I asked, mainly to Hoseok, Yoongi, Jungkook and Jimin but everyone leaned in as I stretched my hand out to show them all the picture.
“Apart from the colour it does look quite similar...” Jimin mumbled. Examining the page.
“It looks like it has more fur too. But yeah it looks almost the same.” Jungook mentioned.
“The eyes too, they’re not the same.” Hoseok pointed at the eyes on the picture. “They were red.” Yoongi chimed in, I saw him shiver with the thought. I huffed and pulled the book back.
“Why what is it?” Taehyung asked me.
“Says here it's called an Amarok.” I told him, scanning the paragraph for any important information.
“Oh I’ve heard about those! It’s like a giant wolf right?” Lisa clicked her fingers as she remembered what I assume she had been taught as a child.
“Yeah it also says here that it's an arctic creature, usually with white fur. To find one of a black colour would be rare apparently but it is possible.” I read the description of the creature. “I mean it seems extremely similar so maybe it's in the same sort of family? Like how doves and pigeons are?”
“I say we write it down in the IBD. It’s not exactly the same but it’s the closest thing we have so far. It could come in useful.” Jungkook proposed and Taehyung immediately grabbed the book and pen again. Ready to write.
I told Taehyung to move closer to me so we could get all of the information down without distracting everyone else as they continued on with reading their own books. We both shuffled a little away from the circle. I sat with my legs crossed and the book in hand ready to tell Taehyung everything he needed to write down. He made himself comfortable, laying next to me on his stomach with the book open in front of him.
“Ready?” I asked him and he responded with a smile and a nod.
I began reading the points that stood out the most to me.
“Okay, so the Amarok is a giant wolf-like creature that could be found in the countries of the arctic many millennia ago. More recently within the last couple of centuries the creature has been found in other countries around the world.” I paused so he could write that piece of information down before continuing. “It is usually seen with white fur but there have been reports of multiple Amarok with black fur although this is a rare occurrence. The Amarok is a lone wolf and does not hunt in a pack but rather as an individual.” I took another pause and Taehyung gave me a little nod, letting me know he was ready for me to carry on. “The Amarok is also able to take someone's soul from them, which in turn kills the person.”
“Lucky us.” Taehyung huffed writing down the last of the information.
We didn’t return to the circle, just stayed where we had moved to. Lisa was typing away on her laptop which made me wonder if she was looking at something useful as her face contorted through a range of different confused states. I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye and looked over to see Hoseok digging through the many piles of books. He looked like he was looking for something in particular otherwise wouldn’t he have just picked a random book up to read? My question was very quickly answered as he spoke up to the group.
“Has anyone seen that book?”
“There’s like thirty books here. You’re gonna have to be more specific buddy.” Namjoon snickered at the lack of detail.
“The one Jungkook found at Irene’s shop.” Hoseok stopped looking through the books and faced him, I shrugged not knowing where it was.
“Oh the one his grandma was using to talk to us? I don't know.” Namjoon looked towards the rest of the group looking for an answer.
“Um may or may not be my grandma we don’t know yet.” Jungkook rolled his eyes.
“Oh I think Irene took it with her. And she’s also not coming back today so…” Taehyung explained not looking up from the book he was reading.
“Oh right. I was just wondering if she had anything to say about the beast.”
“We will just have to wait until we next see Irene I guess.” Yoongi told him to which he just nodded with a little sigh before picking a book up to read.
I carried on reading and trying to see if any of the other beasts in this book looked like the one we were dealing with. Asking for everyone's opinions after going over the paragraphs myself. Unfortunately though nothing seemed to be as close as the Amarok, it seemed like that was as close as we were getting for now as I closed the book and threw it over to our pile of ‘books we have read’. I decided I needed a little break and thought that a walk would do me some good. I stretched my arms out in front of me and stood up to stretch my legs out too, I almost kicked Taehyung accidentally in the process. Not that he would have noticed he seemed way too immersed in the book he was reading.
“Anyone want to come for some fresh air? I’m gonna go for a quick walk.” I asked the group. Everyone replied with some variation on ‘no’ apart from Namjoon.
“Sure I’ll come with, I’ve been trying to stop my legs losing feeling for ages.” He jumped up and stretched as well.
“Okay let's go.” I instructed and made my way out, Namjoon somewhere behind me.
We got outside and a cool breeze hit us instantly, it felt relieving, contrasting against the warm summer air. It was still light out but the sun was close to starting its descent in the sky to bring on the evening. We walked slowly, taing in the relaxing atmosphere, the streets a little empty but they still felt busy. There were people presumably making their way home from work and some kids running around and playing with their friends. I loved summer, everything was just full of fun, sunshine and cold drinks. Back in the winter I was telling myself this summer would be different and that I would do more than lounge about in the heat. I was not expecting it to be this different though, fighting supernatural creatures off and finding out my best friends were supernatural. It was crazy but at least it was something different, right?
“I want more snacks.” Namjoon stated as we strolled around a corner.
“Let’s go buy some then.” I suggested, smiling.
We headed to the nearest newsagents, it wasn’t far only a few minutes away from where we were so it wasn’t much trouble going. Once we got inside we began looking for food and drink we wanted and I called Jungkook to see if anyone else wanted extra snacks.
“Hey Kook we’re getting more food you guys want anything?” I asked down the phone, picking up a packet of jellies and inspecting them making sure they were the right ones.
“Oooh yeah! Guys who wants more snacks!” He shouted to the others, I winced as he didn’t move away from the phone to shout. I could hear everyone talking but couldn’t make out individual requests so I waited on Jungkook to tell me. Namjoon was shoulder deep in the fridge collecting various bottles of drinks, not that he needed to get them from the back as there were plenty of them in stock. I walked over to him and nudged the back of his knee with my foot. He turned around, arm still lost to the coldness.
“What are you doing?” I asked him. I could hear Jungkook arguing with someone as I awaited an answer.
“They’re colder if you get them from the back, I don't want warm lemonade.” He explained finally bringing his arm out of the fridge, lemonade bottle in hand.
“Oh right. Are you guys done yet?” I asked Jungkook through the phone, growing impatient with their inability to make a decision.
“Um...” There was a scream coming from the other end of the line. “What the fuck Hoseok?!” Jungkook ignored me.
“Why are you guys screaming, just give me an answer!” I huffed down the phone, Namjoon rolled his eyes at me and walked away to another isle of the store.
“Dude chill!” Jungkook screamed down the phone but it clearly wasn’t aimed at me.
I heard more shouting and someone yelling “Jimin do something!” I suddenly got really concerned, what was happening?
“Kook what's going on?” I asked but he didn't answer. Anxiety was spiking and I went to search for Namjoon as I pushed for Jungkook to explain what was going on.
I found Namjoon and the counter, the employee scanning his items. I gave him the packet of jellies I had in my hand and he added it to the rest of the stuff. I tried to patiently and calmly wait for Jungkook’s explanation but it never came. They were still shouting and there were sounds of crashing. I could hear Jungkook breathing heavily, it definitely sounded like he was panicking. But why?
“Hello? Jungkook? What's going on?” I asked for what felt like the hundredth time. No answer from him, just incoherent yelling before the line went dead.
“What the fuck…” I mumbled to myself bringing the phone away from my ear to redial his number.
“What’s all that about?” namjoon asked after paying for the food, he picked the bag up and headed for the door.
“I don’t know… I think something’s happened. We should hurry back.” I followed him before overtaking him as I began to speed up to a jog. Jungkook hadn’t answered my call and it caused me to worry even more.
We rushed back, I was afraid of what we would see when we returned. From the sounds of things Hoseok had done something, maybe he turned or something and that’s why they were calling for Jimin to do something. We got back to the apartment building and headed straight for the elevator. Once inside we finally had time to catch our breath, we were both breathing really heavy from running. The elevator was taking too long to get to Jimin’s floor, each second was agonising knowing something bad might have happened to my friends. I bounced slightly as I was growing impatient, watching the numbers go up. I felt Namjoon’s hand on my shoulder and turned to look at him, he gave a small smile.
“I’m sure they’re okay.” He reassured me and I nodded lightly.
The doors opened and I took a breath before heading it out, Namjoon was right. It probably wasn’t that bad, everything would be okay and I would be panicking for nothing. We made our way to Jimin’s apartment, once we got to the door it was quiet. It didn’t sound like anyone was in there, either that or they were all being really quiet. I looked at Namjoon who nodded at me to open the door, I slowly turned the handle and opened the door. As I did so the first thing I noticed was the mess, all of the books were no longer in the neat piles they were when we left, they were scattered all over the floor.
We walked in and I spotted Jimin picking up a tipped couch, putting it back in its original position. I stopped in my tracks while Namjoon carried on further into the living room. I looked around at the mess, a lamp had been knocked onto the floor, cushions from the couch were thrown all over the place and it seemed that a few of the books had pages ripped out of them as there were lone pieces of paper on the floor. I could see Hoseok and Yoongi in the corner of the room, it looked like Yoongi was trying to calm him down. Hoseok’s chest was quickly heaving up and down. I scanned the room and noticed that Taehyung, Jungkook and Lisa were missing.
“What the hell happened in here?” I asked, approaching Jimin. Namjoon had gone over to Hoseok and Yoongi.
“Be glad you’re only just getting back.” Jimin huffed picking some books up off of the floor. I decided to give him a hand. “Hobi almost turned, lost a bit of control and now he’s freaking out even more because he scratched Tae. Who’s fine, it wasn’t that bad.” He explained, putting the books back into a pile in the middle of the room. I looked over to the corner again but I couldn’t see Hoseok as Namjoon and Yoongi were blocking my view.
“Where’s everyone else?” I asked and handed some books over to him.
“Kitchen. Lisa is patching Taehyung up.”
“Right.”
Taehyung’s POV
I sat on the countertop in the kitchen as Lisa pulled out the first aid kit we had in one of the cupboards. I had pretty much calmed right down after Hoseok gained control, Jungkook on the other hand was staring at my small wound and he still looked shook up from the whole thing. Nothing too bad had happened though, just a little scratch and even though I was the one who got hurt my mind kept thinking of Hoseok. This was the second time this had happened and last time he hurt Jimin. I knew it would be breaking him if he thought I was badly injured, especially since it would take me longer to heal than a werewolf. I didn’t heal extra fast, there were spells that could be used but for something so minor it wasn’t worth the effort.
Lisa rummaged through the box for something to clean my cuts with. Hoseok had only scratched me, it wasn't that deep but there was a bit of blood coming from my arm so it was best to fix it up. Lisa held my arm as she cleaned the wound, it stung a little but I had definitely felt worse before. Jungkook had done more damage to me in the past than this.
“That blood is making me feel sick.” Jungkook whined, still watching Lisa clean up my arm.
“Then don’t look at it?” I laughed and Lisa smiled as she turned around to get a little bandage for my arm.
“I would love to but I can't bring myself to look away.” I just laughed at him and told him to go help clean up. He left the kitchen, leaving me and Lisa alone.
She cleaned the small wound on my arm as best she could, which was pretty well, before rummaging through the first aid box once again to find a bandage of some sort. She pulled out a roll of fabric and began wrapping it around my forearm where I had been scratched. We didn’t talk, but it wasn’t awkward just quiet while she fixed me up. I could barely feel any pain at this point so hopefully that would put Hoseok at ease. She grabbed some medical tape to keep the bandage in place and we were done, she began repacking up the first aid box and put it away. I jumped off of the countertop and made my way into the living room, Lisa somewhere behind me.
When I entered the living room I saw that Namjoon and Jin had returned and were helping Jimin and Jungkook clean up the mess. I looked over to the corner of the room to see Yoongi with his back towards me talking to Hoseok. I decided to go over and see how he was doing, as I approached Hoseok’s head appeared from behind Yoongi. He stared at me and gulped.
“Hey, you okay?” I asked once I had gotten close enough to talk to him.
“Am I okay? Tae… I could've killed you..” Hoseok whispered, barely audible to me.
“Um, I’m gonna give you guys a minute…” Yoongi looked between us before walking away to help the other’s clean up.
Hoseok looked down at the bandage on my arm and sighed deeply, he didn’t look back up at me though.
“I’m fine you know?” I told him, my voice soft. I felt like he would break if I spoke any louder.
“I keep doing this… I keep hurting people. I’m really sorry Tae, I didn’t mean it. I wouldn't hurt you on purpose…” He was refusing to look at me as he apologised.
“I know Hobi. Look It’s okay, it's getting hard for everyone to control themselves recently and you’re not used to being a werewolf anyway.” I explained trying to comfort him. He looked back up at me,tears in his eyes, I could tell he was trying his hardest not to cry.
“This will pass soon enough, and I promise I’m gonna be here. We’ll get through it together.” I gave him a small smile after encouraging him.
“We will?” He sniffed.
“Yeah of course.” I put my arms up in a gesture to hug him and he didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around me tightly. I could hear him mumble something along the lines of another apology but it was muffled by the fabric of my shirt.
Summary: You’re they only one who knows about Jimin’s secret but there’s someone else you didn’t know about…
Hoseok’s POV
I couldn’t wait to have a good night’s sleep, I was exhausted and was sure I would pass out straight away. Jungkook had gone and slept in Jimin’s room since he had space for someone else which left the rest of us to figure out sleeping arrangements. I personally didn’t care, I would’ve fallen asleep anywhere I was so tired. It took about ten minutes to decide who was sleeping where. In the end it was Y/n, Irene and Jin on one couch, then Namjoon and Taehyung cuddled up on the bean bag which left me and Yoongi with the other couch. I placed my head on the arm of the couch with my legs on Yoongi’s lap as he had insisted he was going to sleep sitting up. After a few minutes I heard something moving, it sounded like pages so I opened my eyes and lifted my head a little. I looked over to see one of the book’s pages whirling from one side to the other. I then noticed Irene in the corner of my eye and as I looked over I realised it was her controlling the paper.
“What are you doing?” I whispered to not wake anyone as the rest of them seemed to be asleep.
“Oh sorry!” Irene’s head snapped in my direction, as soon as she moved the pages stopped. “Trying to tire myself out, I feel really awake. Doing spells takes a lot of energy.” She explained, her voice low.
“Oh no that’s okay I just didn’t know what was going on. You didn’t disturb me, don’t worry.” I told her and she smiled.
“Both of you are disturbing me. Shut up and go to sleep.” Yoongi grumbled from the other end of the couch, without moving an inch or opening his eyes.
“Sorry.” Both Irene and I whispered as I laid my head back down and she got comfortable. I closed my eyes and it didn’t take long before sleep took over my body.
All I could see was darkness, no objects or any indication of where I was. I also didn’t have a body? I tried moving but was met with silence and stillness. It took a moment before realising I was dreaming, at least I assumed I was dreaming. It was either that or I was lost somewhere in my conscience. Whatever it was it was really quiet and was making me feel a little uneasy. I stared into the darkness for what seemed like forever and I was beginning to wish I was just sleeping normally instead of being aware of my brain activity, or the lack of.
“Hoseok.” A voice echoed through my mind, it was a woman’s voice but I didn’t recognise who it was.
“You can answer me Hoseok. I’m not here to harm you.” Her voice spread through the emptiness of my head.
“Uh who are you?” I asked, I was a little weirded out to hear my own voice echoing as hers did.
“It doesn’t matter who I am, all you need to know is that I was controlling the book. I’m here to warn you.” Her tone was warm and welcoming but the last part of her sentence had me on edge.
“About the beast?” Another question of mine travelling through the black void. I was glad it was the same person speaking to us through the book I wasn’t prepared for another mystery guest on our mission.
“Exactly. I know this is all very new to you but you and your friends are in danger. Which is why I am trying to help.” I knew we were in danger but hearing this bodiless voice tell me gave me chills even if I was still technically sleeping.
“Um okay… So you’re a witch?”
“Yes and this situation, that beast is going to be hard to handle. It’s going to take as many people as you can find to beat it. It’s a lot stronger than you realise.” I appreciated her helping us and telling me all of this information but it was mainly stuff I was already aware of. I didn’t know how to answer her so I stayed silent in hopes I would be back to my usual sleep or that she would carry on talking.
“Look I’m sure you already know this thing is dangerous but I need to let you know I’m here to help. I know that all of you were sceptical about whether I wanted to actually help or not. I know one of your friends and trust me I wouldn’t want to cause him harm.”
“And because you invade my brain I’m supposed to believe you?” I asked, something still seemed off, if she knew one of us why didn’t she say who.
“I know it might be hard to believe because of the extent I’m going to but I just ask for your trust and your group’s trust too. I really am here to help.” The voice did sound sincere but I was itching to ask that question and before I could stop myself it slipped out.
“If you know one of my friends why don’t you just tell us who you are? Surely it’s easier than being all anonymous and stuff.”
“I understand your concern Hoseok, I do. If I revealed who I was there would be even more questions than answers. Your friend doesn’t know I’m a witch and this is no way for him to find out.” I didn’t answer.
“So do you trust me?”
“I don’t know yet you’re going to have to do more than this to convince me.”
“Well you’ve given me a challenge there Hoseok. I’ll try my best. Have a good night’s rest.”
“Uh you too I guess..”
I was confused to say the least. Did the stranger enter my mind while I was sleeping for the sole purpose of trying to get me to trust her? If anything it made me a little more suspicious. I didn’t understand why it was such a big deal for the woman to tell us who she was. It would certainly make life easier, the less trouble we had right now the better. The whole thing made me trust her a little less. But it wasn’t long until I was forgetting about the whole ordeal as I went back to my usual sleeping state.
It felt as though I was waking up as fast I had fallen asleep but one thing was clear, I was feeling very well rested. I stretched my legs out, my feet hitting the other arm on the end of the couch. Eyes still closed but my limbs were sticking out in every direction as I tried waking myself up. That was until someone slapped my leg, I lifted my head and remembered that Yoongi was there once I saw his face. I brought my legs away from him and sat up properly on the couch, my mind hazy and my eyelids still drooping. I sat still trying to gain my thoughts and remember what the hell was going on and why I was sleeping on a couch. It took a few seconds but i remembered I was on Jimin’s couch and then memories of being chased by that beast again came flooding back. I would have rather not remembered that.
I noticed that the apartment was particularly quiet. I looked around to see that everyone else was still pretty much asleep. Taehyung was still on the bean bag while Namjoon looked like he had been kicked off onto the floor. Although his head still rested on a small portion of the beanbag next to Taehyung’s knees. Yoongi still had his eyes closed even after hitting me and Jin had his head resting on Irene’s shoulder, both of them in a deep slumber. Y/n was missing from the scene, I heard noise from the kitchen and assumed that was her. It must have still been early in the morning given the fact everyone was still sleeping, or trying to still sleep. I searched around for my phone before spotting it on the floor next to the couch. I picked it up to look at the time. It was seven in the morning, that explained things. I saw that my phone needed charging badly but I didn’t have a charger with me so it would have to wait.
I stood up off of the couch and stretched my body, this time without interruptions from a sleepy Yoongi. I stepped over Namjoon’s body and headed for the kitchen, yawning as I did so. When I entered the room in question I saw Y/n or well the back of her as she was rummaging through cupboards.
“Morning.” My voice came out a little hoarse as I greeted her. She must not have heard me come in because she jumped a little and turned around quickly, letting out a breath when she saw me.
“Hobi you nearly gave me a heart attack..” She breathed heavily, hand over her chest.
“Sorry.” I snickered a little, walking over to her by the counter top.
“Good morning too though.” She turned back to the cupboard and went back to searching the contents, “Hungry?” She asked without looking in my direction.
“Starving.”
“Good!” She took something out of the cupboard and began preparing it.
I wasn’t paying attention to what it was, I was too busy trying not to fall back asleep in the middle of the kitchen. I also didn’t care what it was as long as it cured my hunger it was good enough. We just stood in silence for a few minutes as Y/n moved around the kitchen making the food. I didn’t know what she was making until she put a plate down in front of me. French toast.
“Bon appetit.” She smiled, taking a bite of her own.
“Is that supposed to be a reference?” I laughed, Y/n just shrugged with a smirk on her face.
More silence as we ate, taking in the seemingly calm atmosphere of the early morning. This was nice, it almost seemed like the beast didn’t exist and it was a normal summer morning. No beast, no supernatural drama, just a peaceful breakfast on a normal day. Although I knew that wasn’t the case it was nice to pretend for a moment. I knew that in a few hours it would be back to chaos. One thing that really stood out to me was Jimin’s dream basically coming true. He dreamt about that beast before any of us knew it was a thing, him included. It made me wonder if any other dreams he had could be a possible indication of something about to happen. Maybe he was psychic or something like that, in a world full of werewolves and witches I’m sure there’s psychic’s running around too. I was definitely going to ask if that was a possibility once everyone had woken up.
“Hey Hoseok.” Y/n caught my attention while placing her plate in the sink and going over to what I assumed was to make herself a cup of coffee.
“Yeah?” I answered with half of my mouth still full of food.
“I had a real weird dream last night..Well I think it was a dream anyway.”
“What was it about?” I asked, taking another bite of my french toast.
“It was crazy. Want one?” She held up a cup.
“Yeah sure. Crazy how?” I finished my breakfast and put the plate in the sink too.
“Well it was completely black, absolute darkness and I heard this woman’s voice. Not too weird but here’s the thing that makes me think it wasn’t a dream.”
“Wait stop there!” I cut her off. “You heard a woman’s voice?”
“Yeah..” She answered cautiously as she poured the coffee into the cups.
“Just the voice? No head, no body? Was she talking about the beast?”
She furrowed her eyebrows and put the coffee jug down. “How do you know that..?”
“I spoke to her too..”
“Oh.” She handed me my coffee and we both stood quiet for a moment.
“This is crazy..” I sighed. “Do you think she spoke to anyone else?”
“I don’t know, maybe.” She wasn’t looking at me but staring out of the kitchen.
Honestly I had forgotten about the woman in my head until Y/n mentioned it but if it wasn’t just me she was speaking too that meant she was insanely powerful. I took a sip of my coffee after trying to cool it down for a minute or two. I was determined to find out who this was and why they were being so complicated. It wasn’t hard to tell us who she was, this was important, a life or death situation and our new friend wanted to play games. A shiver went down my spine, the whole thing didn’t sit right with me. Getting into our heads, literally, just to convince us to trust her? It sounded wrong and my gut was telling me not to trust her, I had such a bad feeling about it. But she was right about needing all the help we could get, whoever she was she knew what was going on. Either way, whether she wanted to help or hinder the situation it was really weird how she was going about it.
We decided to go back into the living room and sit down. I sat back on the couch next to Yoongi although he had taken most of the space up in my absence. Y/n sat back next to Irene, both her and Jin in the same position I had left them in.
“Should we wake them up and ask about the woman?” Y/n asked, scanning the room filled with sleeping bodies.
“Um I think we should let them sleep.”
“You’re right it’s been a tough few days.” She sighed.
“Yeah, looks like things are only gonna get tougher too. We both took another sip from the warm cups in our hands.
Jungkook’s POV
I opened my eyes and stretched, consciousness slowly taking over as I woke up. I looked over to see Jimin still sleeping peacefully, I wasn’t going to wake him up so I reached under the pillow for my phone. It was seven thirty in the morning, why was I awake so early? I sat up and stretched once again, yawning in the process. I might as well get up as I felt pretty well rested and didn’t think I would get back asleep now. That’s when I remembered the weird dream I had, there was a woman talking to me about all of this beast stuff and when I thought about it a bit harder she sounded familiar but I couldn’t figure out where I had heard her voice before.
I shuffled out of the bed and made my way across the room, there was a horrible taste in my mouth, a little bit of a metallic taste too.Maybe I had bitten my cheek or something in my sleep. I really needed to freshen up, that was going to be the first thing I did as soon as I got home. I made my way to the living room to see everyone apart from Y/n and Hoseok passed out still, they were both chatting and drinking what I assumed was coffee. As I got closer Hoseok turned his head in my direction and smiled when he saw me.
“Morning sleepy head.” He took a sip from his cup.
“Uh yeah.. Morning.” I rubbed my eyes as I walked over to the kitchen to grab myself a drink. I grabbed a glass and got myself some water, this was bound to make me wake up a little more. I took a couple gulps of the cold, fresh water and instantly felt more alive.
Entering the living room once again I sat myself between the two couches so I could hear both of my friends. I looked over to Taehyung who was still sleeping, it looked like I wasn’t going home yet. He would kill me if I left without him. I had no idea what they were talking about when I sat down so I just listened instead. That dream was still on my mind, I knew that voice and it was on the tip of my tongue but I still couldn’t place it. Then I heard Y/n say something about missing her grandparents and that’s when it hit me. It was my Grandma, that’s whose voice it was. Then why the hell was I dreaming about my grandmother telling me about the beast? It was a little weird but I guess it probably had something to do with missing my family and the stress of everything. Being chased by that thing last night really freaked me out. I couldn’t stop thinking about its eyes, its teeth, the way it seemed to smirk at us while we were worrying if we were going to make it out alive.
I thought to leave it alone and not think about it as it was all calm and peaceful for the time being. I was going to enjoy this somewhat normal morning. I was getting bored of the current conversation and decided to spice things up.
“Who wants to hear about my whack ass dream?” I asked, completely interrupting what Hoseok was saying but also not caring. They looked at each other before looking back at me.
“Let us guess.” before I could answer they both started talking in turns.
“Complete darkness.” Y/n began.
“And you heard a woman’s voice, right?” Hoseok continued.
“And she was talking about the beast.”
“Trying to get you to trust her.”
“But you couldn’t see her.”
I looked between the two of them, confused and a little scared as to how they knew what I was going to tell them. It was creepy to say the least.
“How did you know that? I don’t understand how you guys know about my dream.” I spoke slowly and I think it was clear how freaked out I was by it.
“Because it wasn’t a dream Jungkook.” Y/n told me.
“Uh what do you mean? I dreamt it, that means it was a dream?” right?” I looked at Y/n who just shook her head at me.
“We had the same experience. It wasn’t a dream and I think that woman spoke to everyone else too.” Hoseok explained to me.
“But wait that’s not possible…”
“It is. Whoever that woman is she’s a powerful witch and she spoke to us, all of us. We’ve been waiting for everyone to wake up so we can see what else she said.” Y/n continued telling me about the woman but there was just one thing that didn’t add up.
“No you don’t get it my grandma spoke to me in my dream.” I told them before either of them could start speaking again. They both looked at each other with a look of pure shock washing over each of their faces.
“What do you mean?” Hoseok asked me.
“The woman’s voice I heard was my grandma’s.I couldn’t figure out who it was at first but I knew it was familiar and then I realised. It was my grandma.” I continued to explain.
“Um Kook… Do you think your grandmother could be the witch we’ve been talking to through the book?” Y/n asked cautiously.
“What? No. I’d know?”
“Not necessarily.” We all jumped in hearing Irene’s voice. I looked over and it seemed like she had been awake the entire time and none of us realised.
“You scared the shit out of me.” Hoseok huffed, putting his cup on the ground.
“Sorry. But seriously Jungkook, didn’t you say your grandma used to visit the shop? My own Grandmother used to run it.” Irene continued, Jin still resting on her shoulder. Was she right? Was my own grandmother a witch and was she the one helping us? Surely I would have been told by her or my parents. I sat and stared at Irene. I didn’t really know what I was supposed to say or do.
“Maybe you should ask her?” Y/n suggested. I just nodded while they began asking Irene if she had the same experience last night.
I would be lying if I said I was handling this information well, but wouldn’t I be a witch too if my grandma was? I’m sure I would’ve known by now but it didn’t stop the urge I felt to ring my mother and ask about it. I didn’t though, we had bigger issues at hand. That didn’t stop me from interrupting my friends again though.
“Wait, so does that mean my dad is a witch too? What does that mean for me?” I asked rushing questions. I didn’t mean to be rude, I was just really misunderstanding this whole thing. I looked over to Irene as did the other two, she was definitely the expert out of us all here.
“Well it kinda depends.” She began, I could tell she was choosing her words carefully as she tried to explain. “It’s like normal genetics right? Certain genes are stronger than others.” I raised an eyebrow, I sort of understood what she was saying but how did it work in terms of witches. She definitely noticed that we were confused. “Okay um, punnett squares? It’s how you can predict what genetics a child will get from each parent. Some genes are stronger than others, say your mother had blonde hair and your father has black hair, you would be more likely to have black hair. If your grandfather is also a witch then it’s pretty much definite that your father is. And if your mother is a with then you probably are one too.”
“Ooh right!” I started to fully understand the whole concept of it all. “So if my grandfather is a normal human there’s a fifty percent chance my dad is a witch meaning there’s less chance of me being one?”
“Yeah, exactly, and if your mother is a human then the probability of you being a witch is really low.” Irene continued.
“That makes sense. Thanks and sorry for interrupting.” I apologised sheepishly, I felt as though I was being really rude.
“It’s okay, don’t worry about it.” Hoseok leaned down and ruffled my hair.
“Hey I’m not a kid!” I moved my head out of the way as he laughed.
“You might as well be.” Y/n giggled.
“Anyway, back to your ‘dream’ Irene.”
Turns out the woman, who may or may not have been my grandmother, had also spoken to Irene and as a witch to witch thing had given her some tips on different spells she could use to help with everything. Especially if things got messy? It was unsettling to think about but there was a possibility of casualties during this situation. Of course we wouldn’t rule it out, with a creature that big and dangerous it was going to be near impossible to not get hurt. It didn’t put me off though, I was going to stick to making sure we stayed safe and got rid of this thing as fast as we can.
Jimin’s POV
I woke up to hear the voices of my friends in the living room, sometimes this superhuman hearing was more of a hindrance than a help. I didn’t want to hear Y/n’s loud ass laugh before I even opened my eyes but here I was. I stretched my arms and legs and sat up, rubbing my face to try and wake up properly. I noticed Jungkook was not next to me, meaning he was already awake. By the sound of things I was the last to wake up. I sat for a moment as I remembered a dream I had, there was a woman’s voice talking to me about everything that was going on and how I needed to protect my friends at all costs. And if my last dream was anything to go by, it wasn’t a dream at all but more of a prediction.
I shuffled myself off of my bed and stood up to stretch further, I grabbed my phone off of my bedside table and unplugged it from the charger. It was ten oclock, why was everyone so lively this early? I decided to stop wondering and actually go out to my friends as I was technically the host of this impromptu sleepover. I opened my bedroom door and headed towards the living room. Jin and Irene were sitting on one couch seemingly calm amongst the chaos I could see. Jungkook and Taehyung were play fighting in the middle of the room with Hoseok narrating the entire thing while Y/n was shown Yoongi and Namjoon something on her phone. It felt like a normal morning, as if we hadn’t been chased by a monster yesterday. It didn’t take long for my friends to notice my presence as I approached them.
“He lives!” Taehyung suddenly stopped attacking Jungkook and shouted pointing in my direction.
Everyone’s heads instantly turned to me and I was met with a cheer from them all. I rolled my eyes and sat on the couch next to Irene.
“Someone’s finally awake.” Jin leaned over and poked my shoulder.
“It’s literally ten in the morning why are you guys so awake?” I asked, swatting Jin’s hand away as he laughed.
“Um we were a bunch of early birds today.” Y/n shrugged from the other couch.
“Flock.” Namjoon corrected her.
“What?” She turned her head to him, eyebrows raised.
“Birds come in flocks not bunches.” He explained.
“Whatever.” She smirked, elbowing him lightly.
“Jimin! Before the morning continues there is a very important question we got to ask you!” Hoseok pointed at me and as he did so it seemed everyone remembered what he was talking about straight away. Taehyung and Jungkook instantly hit the floor sitting down right infront of me. Everyone seemed to lean in closer and it made me feel very pressured.
“What? You guys are freaking me out…”
“Did you have a weird ‘dream’ last night?” Irene asked from next to me, her voice came out louder than it would have usually due to the short distance between us. I jumped a little.
“Um yeah.. Why? What’s going on?” I asked, very confused.
“What was it about?” Yoongi joined in on the interrogation.
“Um a woman, I could only hear her voice and it was pitch black. She talked to me about the whole beast thing. Said she’s the one who was using the book to talk to us… Don’t tell me guys heard her too?” I wasn’t met with an audible answer just everyone slowly nodding their heads at me. It looked kind of creepy and cultish.
So that rules out it being a dream although I had a feeling it wasn’t one in the first place. No one said anything after that, they just went back to chatting and enjoying their morning. I didn’t blame them, this was the most normal thing we would get for a while. After a few minutes of barely listening to whatever the hell Jin was talking about I got up to get myself a drink and something to eat, I was starving.
I entered the kitchen to see Namjoon making himself a cup of tea. He turned around when he heard me come in and smiled before grabbing another cup. He didn’t even have to ask to know what I was in here for.
“Looks like it’s been a bit of a crazy morning.” I sighed, leaning against the worktop next to Namjoon.
“You’re telling me. I woke up to Jungkook staring over me. Like a few inches from my face.” He huffed back, shaking his head a little.
I laughed lightly, a very Jungkook way to try and wake someone up. Namjoon handed me my tea and I cautiously took a sip to not burn myself on the hot liquid. Namjoon and I both let out a breath, synchronisation causing us to snicker a little.
“How long have you guys been awake?” I asked, still trying to gain some energy.
“Well I got up at about half eight? Something like that. I know y/n, Hobi and Kook were awake from about seven.” He told me, taking a few more sips of tea.
“Fuck that’s early.”
“About that dream as well. We all had it, a little variation. Well I know it clearly wasn’t an actual dream but you know what I mean.” I nodded in response. “Everyone thinks that the woman is Kook’s grandma, apart from him. He’s finding it hard to believe he may be part witch.” Namjoon continued explaining the events of this morning.
“Why his grandma?” I asked him for further explanation.
“Well apparently when he woke up Hosoek and Y/n guessed about the dream he had which was the woman, when they were talking about her he told them it was his grandmother’s voice. He had recognised it but it took him a few minutes to realise why he recognised it. And with the fact his Grandma used to visit Irene’s shop, it’s probably true.”
“Well shit.”
We went back into the living room and after a while my friends began leaving, first was Taehyung and Jungkook, then Hoseok, Yoongi and Irene left leaving just four of us still here. We made a plan to meet up later once everyone had freshened up, apart from Y/n and Irene who had to work Namjoon also had to work but that wasn’t until later on in the night so he was still coming. Soon enough I was left on my own and went to take a shower.
I felt instantly refreshed as soon as the water hit my body, this was all getting a bit exhausting. With the creature chasing us any chance it gets and having to constantly think about what to do next, not to mention all the research we were having to do. It felt like I was still writing essays and assignments for my classes. At least we had a little time to relax before getting back to business. I was hoping this was going to be easy and finished with as soon as possible although I knew that probably wasn’t going to be the case.
Taehyung’s POV
“We’ll see you guys later!” I exclaimed to all of my friends as Jungkook and I were about to leave. I needed a shower, food, my phone charging and to brush my teeth. My mouth felt disgusting.
“Byyeeee!” Y/n waved as we left Jimin’s apartment.
Our apartment wasn’t too far from Jimin’s, only a few blocks so there wasn’t any problem in walking there, it wouldn’t take long anyway. We both stayed pretty silent as we made our way home, enjoying the sun and absorbing the heat. So much was going on lately. I was still trying to get used to spells and being a witch, Hoseok was new to the whole werewolf thing, we had irregular moon cycles ruining everyone’s day, a beast on the lose out to get us and Jungkook’s grandma being all ominous and stuff. Even with all of this chaos I felt pretty good about everything, I had decided to be as optimistic as I possibly could. Sure we were in danger but I knew we would get through it and come out fine on the other end. At the end of the day we were going to be okay, I just knew we would and the beautiful summer morning was only making me believe it even more.
Once we got back home I took a shower first while Jungkook made himself, and hopefully me too, some food. I jumped in the shower and gave myself a good scrub, listening to some music as I did so. I got out of the shower and headed towards my room, towel around my waist and phone in hand. I walked out of the bathroom and into my own room before drying off and attempting to find something to wear. The weather was pretty nice so I went for shorts. Plus if by some chance I was chased by that beast I wouldn’t be as hot and sweaty as I would wearing longer pants. While I was getting ready I heard the shower turn on meaning Jungkook had gotten in.
I went to the kitchen to get myself a drink and when I got in there found some food left for me to eat too and started digging into the meal. My phone was still playing music when I got a notification about the low battery. I sped into my room and grabbed my charger and returned to the kitchen plugging it in and charging my phone. After a little while Jungkook had returned from showering and we both sat in the living room awaiting the call to meet up with the others. We were giving ourselves as much time to relax as possible, to clear our minds and be prepared for the upcoming days, maybe even weeks.
We put some music on the TV and both plugged our phones in to charge. We sat for some time just singing along to the songs and occasionally checking our phones, we were relaxing. But then I remembered the whole thing about Jungkook’s grandmother and decided to start up a conversation.
“Hey Kookie.” I grabbed his attention as he was watching the music video on screen. He turned his head to face me, listening to what I had to say.
“Do you think your grandma is actually a witch?” I asked.
“Um I don’t know. I mean it’s a possibility it’s her. But it could also be someone who sounds like her.” I nodded agreeing.
“If she is that means you could be one too! I could teach you everything I know!” I jumped in my seat.
“Uh I think I’d rather Irene teach me.” He snickered.
“Hey! I’m good at spells and stuff!” I exclaimed, feeling a little offended.
“Prove it.” Jungkook smirked at me.
“Fine.” I huffed.
I scanned the room trying to figure out what I could show him, I looked over to where our phones were charging when I got the idea. “Aha!” I pointed at the phones, “Watch this.” I began reciting a simple spell Irene had taught me when she first began mentoring me. I hoped I was saying it right otherwise I was about to look like a fool. I concentrated really hard on the phones and as I came to the end of the spell Jungkook’s phone began levitating.
“No way that’s so cool!” I heard him squeal in excitement.
“Wait a second..” I concentrated even harder than I already was and then my phone too was levitating in the air. I glanced over at Jungkook for a quick second to not lose my focus and he had the biggest grin on his face. He was amazed by it all. That was until my phone flew across the room and hit the wall on the other side, taking the cable with it. Jungkook’s phone heavily hit the table it was on as it dropped out of the air.
“Shit.” I mumbled and ran over to pick my phone up. When I got it off of the floor I turned it around to see the screen had cracked from the corner of the impact all the way across the whole screen. I sighed and showed Jungkook the damage.
“What happened there?” He asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe I wasn’t focusing enough. Or maybe it’s the irregular cycles, they’ve been messing with my magic lately.” I plugged my phone in. it was a miracle the charger actually still worked. I made my way back over to the couch where I was previously sitting.
Summary: You’re they only one who knows about Jimin’s secret but there’s someone else you didn’t know about...
Namjoon’s POV
JIn had fallen asleep on me and I was sure I would be next to pass out, even though we hadn’t done a lot physically this was all mentally draining. Especially for some of us who had no idea that witches and werewolves and all sorts of creatures existed. It was crazy, really crazy but at the same time it had already made my life ten times more interesting.
I didn’t want to move and disturb Jin but my arm was tingling and I wasn’t so comfortable anymore. I slowly tried to move my arm from underneath his head, as I freed it Jin instantly shuffled about so that his head was on my lap and his legs took up the rest on the couch. At least my arm wasn’t tingling anymore. Everyone was beginning to get really tired, it wasn’t just me and Jin. Taehyung was sprawled out across the floor not too far from my feet, if he wasn’t actually asleep he deserved an oscar for acting like he was. Y/n and Irene were slowly reading through a couple pages of some books, yawning and stretching as they did so. We were still waiting on the other’s to get back otherwise everyone would be asleep by now. I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure werewolves don’t carry around spare keys to their apartment in their fur. It wasn’t too late either, around ten thirty or so and it was just a waiting game now.
“Tae?” Y/n mumbled, her voice grainy from not speaking in a little while. She didn’t look up from the book she was reading, not that I think she was actually reading it. When she didn’t get an answer she dropped the book from in front of her face and craned her neck to see Taehyung seemingly passed out on the floor. “Tae?” She asked again a little louder after clearing her voice. Taehyung didn’t move an inch but he did hum a quiet reply. “Could you sing for me please?” She smiled over in his direction even though he couldn’t see. I laughed a little, she was a sucker for his voice, we all were to be honest. I heard Irene suddenly perk up as Taehyung lifted his head to look at Y/n.
“Tae can sing?” She shuffled around so all of us were in her view.
“Yep.” I answered her and she looked surprised,
“Tae? As in that Kim Taehyung right there?” She pointed at him in astonishment. “Hey!” Taehyung sat up abruptly, “I’m offended, yes I can kinda sing. Why don’t you believe it?” He was acting dramatically hurt by her comments.
“Prove to her you can then.” Y/n pushed on and he gave in way too easily, rolling his eyes playfully accompanied by a sigh. She took that as a yes and quietly clapped, a happy little grin on her face.
Irene and Y/n came a little closer making sure they could hear Taehyung in all of his glory. Taehyung cleared his throat and gently started singing a song I didn’t really know the name of but I definitely recognised it. His voice was so relaxing, I felt like it was a lullaby tempting me to fall asleep. I watched as Irene’s eyes lit up, she definitely wasn’t expecting that voice to come out of Taehyung although I thought she would have figured it out by now considering how much time they must spend together with her being his mentor of sorts. We all stayed quiet as we listened to Taehyung singing until he was interrupted by his phone ringing, he unfortunately stopped singing and picked his phone up. “Oh it’s Jungkook.”
Yoongi’s POV
I had never ran so fast in my life up until this point, Sprinting through the woods with the boys while we were being chased by the exact same thing that had been chasing me earlier on. My legs were aching and my chest was burning, my lungs begging me to stop but I couldn't risk slowing down. Right now I was really wishing I had superhuman speed like my friends although they weren’t using it, that would have just left me and Jungkook for dead.
“Can this thing give us a fucking break today?!” Hoseok yelled from in front of me, looking back every couple of seconds. I had no idea where we were or how close the car was. I just wanted that thing to leave us alone, I wasn’t ready to die.
“Told you guys something was wrong!” Jungkook piped up from my left, chest heaving as he spoke.
“Now is not the time for ‘I told you so’s’ Idiot!” Jimin whipped his head back at him before his eyes widened, “Where the fuck did it go?!” His remark caused all of us to turn our heads and see that it had disappeared from behind us but we could still very well hear it running and growling from the darkness of the woods.
“You know what, I don’t care where it went! Where the fuck are we?!” I asked the others as we carried on running.
“Uhh I’m working on that one, trying to find a car when all I can smell is terror is kind of hard!” JImin snapped back at me, understandably.
We just had to carry on running, carry on trying to avoid becoming this beasts next meal. It was proving difficult. I was confused though, that thing was able to keep up with my car earlier on and somehow hadn’t devoured us whole yet. We were only running as fast as me and Jungkook could. Maybe it was tormenting us, maybe it fed off of the fear of it’s victim’s and that’s why we were surprisingly still alive. Or maybe it just wasn’t as agile in the dark? Whichever the answer was I was happy to wait until we lost it completely to find out. MY heart felt like it was going to come out of my chest while my lungs felt as though they were deflating with each step. Breathing was getting really hard and it didn’t help with that thing making horrible noises behind us, it sent waves of anxiety over my body. I was surprised I hadn't passed out yet but I guess I could thank the adrenaline for that.
“Fuck this.” I heard Jungkook huff from beside me and as I glanced over her was bringing his phone up to his ear. “Uh.. Might be late, big wolf thing chasing us..” He practically screamed down the phone to I’m not sure who. Although I could guess it was one of the others back at the apartment. He carried on rambling on to the person on the other side of the line as we followed Jimin making a sharp turn.
“Yoongi get your keys ready!” Hoseok shouted back at me. It was a huge relief knowing my car was somewhere near. I shoved my hand in my pocket and felt around for my keys. Once I had them I yanked my hand back out of my pocket and a few seconds later I could see my Car emerging from between the trees and unlocked the car, survival was in sight. Jungkook had finished up his conversation when we got to the car telling his listener that we were fine now and hung up the phone.
I had been running so fast that I slammed into the side of the car rather than stopping to open the door. My shoulder took most of the impact but I couldn’t feel much over the instinct to survive. We all quickly jumped into the car and I shoved the key into the ignition and turned it. Only for my car to not start up right away. “No no no not now..” I mumbled to myself as I tried again.
“Hurry up Yoongi!” Jungkook tapped the side of my seat aggressively.
“I’m trying! C’mon you piece of shit don’t do this to me.” I turned the key again and again. After another few moments of trying to start the car in a panic I stopped to give it a second before trying again. That’s when we all noticed we couldn’t see the creature, or hear it for that matter. I glanced at Hoseok in the passenger seat and he shrugged. The silence wasn’t good, there was so much tension in the car I almost forgot about leaving. Suddenly it landed on the hood of the car, rocking the entire vehicle and causing us all to scream at the sudden shock. As terrifying as it was at least we were getting a good look at it. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of the beast as I began turning the key again.
“I’m gonna die. I’m gonna fucking die!” Jungkook started panicking even more from the back of the seat while Jimin did his best to try and get him to be quiet and Hoseok was shouting at me to drive. This thing was even more horrific up close, it was staring at us all and scanning the car with those dreadful eyes. It was letting saliva fall from its mouth and onto the windscreen. I could've sworn it was grinning at us as if to mock our fear.
The car finally started up after what felt like an eternity, the only problem I had now was getting this thing off and out of the way. I could see past it a bit but was mainly relying on the feeling of driving to determine if I was on the road or not. I had everyone yelling at me where to turn or how fast to drive but I was doing the best I could. I swayed the car from side to side as aggressively as I possibly could. I had to get rid of it but it didn’t seem to move an inch, it just sat on the hood of the car growling and snarling at us from the outside.
Y/n’s POV
“What's going on that was a lot of yelling?” I asked, anxiety spiking after hearing Jungkook scream down the phone. Taehyung had already hung up and put his phone on the floor. He rubbed his face with his hands.
“Uh it was a lot. They were getting chased by that thing that chased you guys before but he said that they’re back in the car now and are okay.” He explained in a huff.
“As long as they're safe.” Irene sighed in relief.
I let out a breath of relief, they were okay and on their way back to the apartment. This was starting to get scary, not that it wasn't scary in the first place but getting chased by that beast twice in one day made things feel ten times worse. I wondered whether it was a reason it was going after the same group of people, why us? Maybe it was intentionally targeting us, the thought sent shivers down my spine. I looked up at Namjoon to say something only to see him struggling. His elbow rested on the arm of the couch, hand rubbing his face which was scrunched up a little.
“Uh Namjoon you okay?” I asked with raised eyebrows.
“I really gotta pee..” A pained huff came from his lungs.
“Just go to the bathroom then?” Taehyung told him in a puzzled tone.
“I can’t..” Namjoon looked down at Seokjin sleeping on his lap. “I don’t wanna disturb him.”
“Cute.” Irene snickered a little before returning to reading the book she had in hand.
I stood up and walked over to where Namjoon was situated and carefully slid my hands under Jin’s head and neck. I slowly lifted his head up so Namjoon could escape, he slid out from under Jin and bolted to the bathroom. I replaced Namjoon’s lap with my own and put JIns head back down. He began squirming a little so I softly put my hand in his hair and played with it a little. He must have been exhausted, it had been a few chaotic days and I was concerned there were only more of them to come. When Namjoon returned he sat on the floor next to Irene and picked up one of the book’s to start reading. Taehyung was on his phone and humming a random tune and it felt rather peaceful for a moment, like everything was normal and we were just hanging out. Of course that wasn’t the case but it was nice to feel like nothing was wrong for a little while. I hoped that this would be over as quick as it had started.
“Guys..” Irene called out not looking up from the page she was reading. I looked over and saw her face slowly lighting up, eyes widening, eyebrows raising and her lips forming a sort of half smile. “I think I’ve found something.” Taehyung quickly crawled over to where she and Namjoon were sitting. I leaned over the arm of the couch to get a good listen as I was currently trapped under Jin.
“It’s not a lot but it’s a start.” She brought the book back up into her line of sight and began reading a passage from the page. “The moon goes through a cycle each month of the year. This includes all eight phases of the moon: New moon,Waxing crescent, First quarter, Waxing gibbous, Full moon, Waning gibbous, Last quarter and Waning Crescent. This is a regular cycle of the moon but approximately every two thousand years the cycle of the moon becomes rather irregular. It is believed by many that it is because of the solar system’s cycle around the galaxy but there are neither supernatural or mortal ways to confirm this.” She looked up after her explanation and put the book down in front of her.
“So that means this isn’t the first time this has happened? That’s good!” Taehyung pointed out, a smile on his face and his eyes seemed to sparkle with hope. That was until Irene shot him down.
“Well yeah there is probably some stuff on it but every two thousand years also means we don’t know anyone who’s lived through this before. It's still going to be a challenge.”
“Well it’s a challenge I’m willing to accept. besides I don’t see anyone else trying to figure out what’s going on so it might as well be us right?” Taehyung beamed, he was always so positive and we definitely needed the good vibes.
JIn started shifting and my attention was drawn back to the boy on my lap. He lifted his head up and opened his eyes slightly, his hair messy from when I was playing with it.
“When... When did you.. Get there?” He quietly mumbled. I could see the confusion on his face as he had fallen asleep on Namjoon earlier and apparently he had no recollection of us swapping.
“Morning sleepy head.” I laughed lightly and ruffled his hair.
“It’s morning?” He propped himself up on his elbows and in his dazed state rubbed his face.
“Nah it's been like thirty minutes. Maybe an hour.” I told him as he sat up completely and stretched with a little “Oh.” escaping his lips as he did so. He yawned which caused a chain reaction as the rest of us yawned after him.
There was a knock at the door and Taehyung sprung up to answer it. “ It must be the other’s.” Namjoon called after him. Finally they were back and presumably back unharmed.
Jimin’s POV
I could hear my heart beating in my ears, I could also hear everyone else's and let me tell you not one of us was calm. Not that you needed superhuman hearing for that everyone was audibly freaking out. Yoongi was swerving the car in a very dangerous manner trying to get that thing off of the hood but nothing was working. I figured out that it must have been strong but I couldn’t tell how it was clinging on to the car. I was struggling to keep still in my seat because of how the car was jerking from side to side and the sharp turns Yoongi was taking. I spared a glance at Jungkook since he had gone oddly quiet in all the chaos, He had his hands covering his ears and his head pretty much between his knees. I gave him a little pat on the back to try and calm him down, it seemed like he wasn’t taking this chase too well.
I looked back up to the front window of the car to see that the beast had barely moved an inch, it was terrifying yes but it was also starting to really irritate me that it wouldn’t budge. Hoseok was yelling commands at Yoongi as that thing on the hood stared on and growled at us from outside. It was weird, it wasn’t trying to get in the car or attack us. It was like we were being tormented, like it was enjoying watching us freak out. This was all taking too long for my liking so I scanned the floor of the car and checked all the little compartments until I found two bottles of water. Was I about to do something a little dangerous? Yes. Was it going to be worth it? I hoped so. I held the bottles between my torso and my elbow while I put the window down. I stuck my head out for a second and saw that the creature hadn’t noticed and was staring at Yoongi and Hoseok specifically so I continued. I began to work the rest of my body out of the window until I was able to sit where the window previously was.
“You guys o- Jimin what the fuck are you doing?!” I heard Hoseok ask from inside as he had turned around to check on us.
“Helping.” I stated, not too sure if he heard me or not. I then noticed Jungkook’s head pop up as I was trying to make sure I didn't drop the bottles.
“Jimin! Get back in!” He shouted at me before I heard Yoongi yell from the front seat. “What do you mean ‘get back in’!? Why isn’t he in the fucking car!?”
I clung on to the top of the car with one hand and put one bottle between my knees while the second one was in my hand. My heart was beating even faster than before and my breath was getting caught in my chest as the wind hit me with force. I brought my arm back and made sure I was aiming properly before throwing the bottle as hard as I could. The bottle hit the beast in the shoulder and because it wasn’t paying attention I managed to knock it off balance so without any hesitation I grabbed the other bottle and threw that one too as fast as I could. When the bottle hit, the beast lost its grip on the car and rolled off completely. I watched as it rolled across the ground as we drove away, it stopped rolling and stood up and just stood there watching us as we left it behind.
I climbed back into the car and put the window back up to its original place, my hair was sticking out in several directions from the wind and I inhaled a few times to catch my breath. The car was silent apart from the heavy breathing from the others and when I looked up I saw Jungkook and Hoseok staring at me in utter shock and Yoongi eyeing me from the mirror.
“That was fucking insane…” Jungkook whispered
“I apologise for shouting at you. That was smart, well done.” Hoseok said, voice low as if he were too scared to speak any louder. I just nodded and sat back in the seat trying to get over the adrenaline rush.
The drive back to the apartment was pretty quiet, honestly we were all just trying to process what had happened and I think everyone was just really in their heads for pretty much the entire journey. I couldn’t shake the thought that my dream was somehow becoming a reality. The beast had already come to life and so was being chased, although it seemed like that was going to be a regular part of our routine now. I was praying that the other things wouldn’t happen, especially the whole death part. I was beginning to hate the silence, I was freaking myself out with all of these thoughts. And just like he could read my mind Yoongi turned the radio on, the car began to fill with the music being played and I felt a little more at ease.
Once we arrived back we all got out of the car and headed up to my apartment and knocked on the door. I heard Namjoon speaking and a few seconds later Taehyung opened the door with a small smile on his face.
“Boy am I glad you guys are back.” He sighed lightly and headed back inside as we followed him in. When we were all inside I noticed Jin’s hair was looking messy and his face a little puffy, he must have been sleeping. He was sitting on the couch next to Y/n while Namjoon and Irene were sitting on the floor between all of the books. Everyone gave us a quick greeting and asked if we were okay, apart from the terror we were all fine. It looked like they had been reading some of the books as they were open on random pages.
“I can’t believe you guys got chased again. That’s twice in one day.” Namjoon said from his position on the floor, a little bit of shock in his tone. I situated myself on the other couch between Hoseok and Yoongi while Jungkook joined Taehyung on the floor with the other two.
“That thing was terrifying. I actually thought I was gonna die.” Jungkook huffed, stretching his legs out in front of him while using his arms to prop himself up.
“Yeah but luckily Jimin was a quick thinker and saved the day.” Hoseok mumbled from beside me, he had his head resting on the back of the couch, eyes closed.
“Oh yeah I didn’t tell you Tae. The thing was on the hood of the freaking car for like ten minutes.” Jungkook exaggerated the last few words as he spoke.
“That’s crazy.” Y/n stated from across the coffee table, hand in Jin’s hair as he leant his head on her shoulder.
“You’re telling me, even crazier though? Jimin defeated it with water bottles.” Yoongi snickered. It did sound a little unbelievable, taking down a creature of that size with two bits of plastic but it sure as hell worked.
“Well while you guys were fighting off the evil, we found something.” Irene lifted one of the books and waved it in the air slightly.
“We did?” Jin’s head snapped up, eyebrows furrowed and confused.
“Yeah you were asleep.” Y/n told him.
“That’s great! What did you guys find out?” I asked, perking up a little at the good news.
“Well it's not a lot but I was reading this book and discovered that these irregular moon cycles happen around every two thousand years and can last for months. No explanation as to why though.” irene explained. Even though it was only a small bit of information it was something. It was progress and it meant we were finally getting somewhere with this investigation. It might have been slow but we were still making the progress.
“That’s cool! I wonder why it’s every two thousand years?” Jungkook asked, now fully laying down on the floor.
“Well the book said that a lot of people think it’s because of where the solar system is in the galaxy, right?” Namjoon began explaining and then looked to Irene for confirmation.
“Exactly. But it does also say that there is no way that this has been proved to be the reason yet. No supernatural or human way to explain the irregularity of the cycle.” Irene answered putting the book down and yawning.
“Looks like we are making some progress then. I know everyone is exhausted so how about we call it a night?” I asked everyone, looking around the room there was nothing but yawning and droopy eyes ready for sleep. I was answered with a series of mumbles and excited yes’s.
I went to my room and offered my bed up to anyone else as I had a double bed so I could fit another person in my room. It ended up being Jungkook as he was complaining the most about how uncomfortable my couches were. Everyone else was getting comfortable on the couches where they could fit as Jungkook and I headed into my room. Jungkook practically ran to my bed and let himself flop down onto it. I took Hoseok's jacket off and found something to wear before climbing into bed. I turned my bedside lamp off and settled down.
“Hey Jimin..” Jungkook whispered from behind me, I hummed in reply as I was too tired to speak anymore.
“We got this, we’ll figure everything out. I know we will. Goodnight.” He somehow sounded really enthusiastic even with the volume of his voice being so low.
Summary: You’re they only one who knows about Jimin’s secret but there’s someone else you didn’t know about...
Yoongi’s POV
“It sounds crazy but I promise that we are telling the truth.” Namjoon held his hand up.
I looked at Y/n and Hoseok next to me and shrugged. “Can’t be as crazy as ending up in France. Go ahead.” The three of us joined the circle of our friends and sat down to listen.
Irene and Taehyung started explaining everything. From finding the book to Jungkook realising the words appearing on the page and finally ending on what we walked into, them asking whoever it is behind this if they can be trusted.
“Let me see the book.” Hoseok put his hand out towards Jungkook who had hold of the book.
Jungkook stretched over the circle to hand Hoseok the book, once he had it he started flicking through the pages and reading what was written on them. His eyebrows were furrowed and he was sticking his tongue out a little, he looked like he was trying to find something between the pages.
“What exactly are you looking for?” Taehyung asked in the silence that had settled.
“I’m not sure” Hoseok mumbled back, still looking at the book in detail. That was until he got the blank pages, he let out a sigh and frowned. After a couple of seconds his face started to light up again, interest washing over his features.
“Looks like you’re getting your answer Kook.” Y/N pointed out as she leaned over to look at what Hoseok had seen.
“More writing?” I heard Jin ask.
“Uh yeah..” Hoseok then started to read out the new sentence. “I can not reveal my identity but I can tell you that I am acquainted with a member of the group..”
We all looked over to Irene who looked rather confused once she noticed the attention on her.
“Why are you guys looking at me? I’m not the only witch here you know.” She pointed towards Taehyung.
“I doubt Tae knows any other witches, apart from you.” Jimin deadpanned.
“I mean just because I’m a witch doesn’t mean I'm the acquaintance. Could be anyone.”
“Let’s leave the book for now. I wanna know how you ended up in France?” Tae took the book off of Hoseok and closed it while everyone’s eyes were on us.
“We’d like to know too...” I told them.
“Guess we’ll start with that thing chasing us.” Y/N offered to start the explanation.
Everyone listened patiently as we started to tell them about everything that had happened in our absence. From getting stuck in traffic and waiting for Hoseok and Yugyeom to me almost killing several people while trying to drive away from the beast.
“What did it look like? The beast thingy” Namjoon asked.
“It was like this huge hairless wolf, black and it was standing on two legs instead of four.” Hoseok began answering.
“It had these really big red eyes, kind of like an alpha but the shade wasn’t quite right it was sort of … off.” Y/N explained.
“Oh and not to mention the claws on that thing, they were so sharp. Ripping cars and shit. The sound it made was horrible too.” I finished.
We continued our story but before we could get much further Jimin interrupted.
“Wait a second..”
“What’s up Jimin?” Jungkook asked.
Jimin took a breath to answer but no words came from his mouth. He seemed to be struggling to find what to say, like he had connected some dots in his head but didn’t know how to communicate it to the group. After a few moments of silence and Jimin not being sure on what to do I finally spoke up.
“Jimin, is everything okay?”
“I-I don’t know, I don’t think so...” He mumbled.
“You’ve figured something out haven’t you? or at least realised something, right?” I asked softly.
All he did was nod, he wasn’t even looking at me at this point. Just had his gaze fixed on the floor. “Can..” he swallowed and looked up making immediate eye contact with me. “Can you explain what it looked like again.” He then switched to look at Y/N then Hoseok for a brief moment before back to me.
“The beast?”
“Yeah.”
I explained again, slowly. I waited for him to give me a nod after each detail to make sure it had registered in his head before moving on. After I had finished repeating the description he nodded a few times in a row and stared at the ceiling before whispering.
“Oh no..”
“What’s wrong?” Jin gently nudged him.
He was still looking up, it was as though he was frozen in time. I noticed Hoseok started to fidget and turned my attention to him. He was leaning towards Jimin ever so slightly, head tilted a couple of degrees. I couldn’t really read his expression, he was eyeing Jimin up and down when he inhaled really deeply. Maybe he can smell something on Jimin? I thought, with him being a werewolf and all he had heightened senses now and could sense other people's feelings. It was at this point that Jimin’s head snapped down and looked Hoseok right in the eyes.
“You can smell it can’t you?” He asked the new wolf but was met with silence.
“What can he smell?” Irene leaned into the middle of the circle .
“Fear.”
Hoseok broke eye contact with Jimin and went back to his original posture before managing to squeak out a “Yes.”
Jimin’s POV
I was finding it hard to organise my thoughts, they were everywhere. Scrambled about in my brain and I knew exactly what I wanted to say but the words got stuck in my throat. While Yoongi was repeating what they said a few minutes earlier about the creature I tried to collect my thoughts and put together a coherent sentence that I could say. I was hoping it wasn’t this, hoping none of this was real. Hoping that maybe I had misheard them the first time but as he continued telling me what it looked like it became clear that I was correct in my jumbled up thought process.
I looked above me, towards the ceiling, if I wanted to tell everyone what was going through my head I needed to figure out how to calm down and make it make sense. I could feel everyone’s eyes on me, especially Hoseok’s and I knew he could smell how sacred I was as I came closer to my conclusion. I kept taking deep breaths to calm myself before facing the young wolf. After a moment I looked right at him.
“You can smell it can’t you?” I asked him. He didn’t answer me, just continued to stare at me while Irene asked what he could smell. “Fear.” It was only then that Hoseok couldn’t handle looking at me anymore as he re-positioned himself and squeaked out a quiet “Yes.”
“Fear? what are you scared of Jimin?”" Yoongi narrowed his eyes at me, I only kept eye contact for about a second before turning to Y/N.
“Y/N do you remember that nightmare I told you about? Not too long ago” I asked.
“Umm..” She scrunched her face up as she thought back. “Yeah I d-” Her eyes suddenly widened as her hand flew up to cover her mouth. She let out a muffled “Oh my god..”
All eyes were on us as everyone waited in anticipation to find out what we were talking about. I was finally able to get the words out after a few more seconds.
“I had a bad nightmare, literally like a couple days ago. That creature was in it.. The way it's been described is exactly what I saw in my dream. And if I somehow managed to dream about it before I knew about it I’m scared about what else happened in the dream.”
“Wait what was it doing in your dream? what happened?” Jin asked.
“You don’t want to know...”
I put my head in my hands, I couldn’t believe that this was happening. All I could think about was that dream. The screams. The smell of death. The feeling that my life was falling apart at the seams. What was going to happen if my dream somehow came true? My friends and family would suffer, possibly die. These thoughts started to consume my mind, I heard the others voices but they were mumbled. My chest started to feel heavy and my breath short. That's when I started to lose my self control.
I tried to calm myself down and tell myself it would be fine. We would find a way out of this and everything will go back to normal. It didn’t work though. The wolf inside of me wanted out and I was on the verge of letting it. I felt a hand squeeze my shoulder and a voice, I assumed it was Jin as he was closest to me but I couldn’t make out much of what he said. I managed to catch “Take deep breaths” though so I did. I needed to ground myself. I needed to find control. I also needed fresh air.
Y/N’s POV
Jimin had his head in his hands, clearly stressed out about this entire thing.
“Y/N what happened in his dream?” I heard Jungkook ask me.
I looked away from Jimin to the source of Jungkook’s voice before answering him. “Um I can’t exactly remember but I know it wasn’t good, like at all.” I glanced back over at Jimin and realised his breathing was kind of short and quick. I leaned a little closer towards him and tried to get his attention from across the circle we had created. “Jimin?” I was met without an answer. “Jimin are you okay?” Still nothing. I sat back and addressed everyone else. “Guys, I think he might be starting to hyperventilate.”
Jin’s eyes widened and he instantly turned to Jimin who still hadn’t said anything. He gently put his hand on Jimin’s shoulder to try and give him reassurance and I saw him squeeze every so slightly before he got closer and spoke. “Jimin, I know you're scared, but you got to try and calm down. Take deep breaths and try and regulate your breathing okay?” Jimin started taking deeper breaths, slowly but he was doing it. That was until he jumped up and bolted out of the door. We all shouted after him but he was already too far down the stairs to care. Hoseok stood up from next to me and walked towards the door. “I’ll go see if he's okay.” He told us and ran out of the apartment. The rest of us were left in silence.
“Should we go with him?” Namjoon asked quietly.
I shook my head “I think he was gonna turn. probably best if we just leave Hobi to it.”
There was a silence as we all seemed to be thinking, I couldn’t tell you what anyone else was thinking about but I was starting to think if maybe this was bigger than us, maybe we weren’t cut out to handle this kind of thing. I was starting to doubt if we could do this alone, it felt out of our control. I got a little lost in my thoughts for a moment but was soon paying attention to the group again. Yoongi was taking his turn in looking through the book while seemingly refusing to tell the rest of the story about somehow ending up in France. I decided to help ease Jungkook’s whining and tell him.
“Anyway about France.” I announced to the rest of the group’s relief. Yoongi gave me a thumbs up without taking his eyes off of the book the entire time.
I began explaining everything that happened again from being chased to not knowing where the hell we were. Before finally letting everyone know how we found out we were in France and somehow magically ended up right outside.
“That’s virtually impossible!” Namjoon exclaimed while making himself comfortable on the couch.
“Well it did happen so…” Yoongi mumbled, finally looking up from the book.
“Still almost impossible though, that’s incredibly rare for someone to do.” Irene seemed to be speaking more to herself than the group.
“What do you mean?” Jin asked as he decided to sit on the couch next to Namjoon instead of staying on the floor.
“Well you see, it sounds like some sort of spell.” She looked around at the group, “Something I would never be able to do even if I had the ability.”
“Why wouldn’t you be able to do it if you had the ability?” I asked, would there be something stopping her from doing so.
“There’s ranks in witchcraft, a hierarchy if you will. The likes of Tae are at the bottom.”
Taehyung was lying down on the floor but sat up upon hearing his name. “Thanks.” He huffed only to earn an eye roll from Irene.
“You know it's true. Tae is a new witch so he’s at the bottom in terms of ability and his practices. I can do simple transportation spells and by simple I mean the most I can do is move a bottle of water from one room to another. Transportation spells as a whole are incredibly difficult which is why you’ll find not many of us can do them or offer to do them.” Irene carried on explaining. It was weird hearing things like this, I still wasn’t used to the idea of being in a witches presence.
Irene fidgeted to get more comfortable, we all waited in silence. Ready for her to continue, it was very fascinating learning about this kind of thing especially from an actual witch. Irene cleared her throat and continued. “Because they’re so hard to conduct you have to be a highly powerful witch to be able to cast a large scale transportation spell. And the fact that whoever did this managed to get several people and a car to a different country and back? They must be extremely high in the ranks.”
“So we are dealing with someone seriously powerful?” Yoongi asked as he fiddled with the pages of the book.
“Very powerful indeed.”
“Wait. Let me get this straight.” Jin stood up from the couch and caught all of our attention. “We are currently dealing with Hoseok who clearly isn’t able to control when he turns into a wolf, an evil beast that wants us all dead, a witch who can apparently only communicate through a freaking book and another witch that likes to send people on their holidays?!” He counted each on his fingers and seemed quite worked up about the situation.
“In short yes.” Taehyung told him bluntly.
“Well that's just fantastic.” Jin huffed and threw himself back down on the couch almost landing on Namjoon in the process.
This entire situation was getting weirder and weirder with each passing hour, it hurt my head. “Safe to say I didn't think this is what I would be doing in my time off from college.” Jungkook pouted. “I mean it's interesting yeah but I didn’t think I’d be risking my life for an entire magical community I had no idea existed this time last week.”
“Is that a complaint?” Irene asked with stern tone.
“Not at all.” Jungkook let out a nervous laugh.
Hoseok’s POV
I ran through the streets as fast as I could, Jimin was clearly freaking out about everything, I was too but I surprisingly was able to control turning for the time being. I didn’t even care about who saw me running at this speed, it couldn’t be weirder than the beast in the city creating chaos. It was hard, I still wasn’t used to tracking someone by scent and Jimin had a head start. I kept losing his scent and then finding it a few minutes later before losing it again. I had to really concentrate to find him and make sure he was okay.
This entire situation was insane, almost too much for me to handle but I had to go through with helping. I would never forgive myself if something were to happen to my friends and family if I didn’t help. I wasn’t going to run away and hide from this although the urge was strong. It was a scary thing considering not too long ago my life was normal and my only worries were to do with my classes. Now I had a whole other world of problems.
I was running around for so long that I began losing my breath, my legs burned as they filled with lactic acid so I decided it was best to slow down. I noticed that Jimin’s scent was rather strong in this area and then realised where i was. I had made it to the woodland just outside of town. It would usually take around half an hour to drive here but I had run it in about fifteen minutes. That’s if I had timed it correctly, either way I was sort of proud of getting this far. I began slowly wandering around the woods to try and find Jimin. I tried to tune in to all of the sounds around me for some sort of indication he was close.
The woods were usually a quiet and scary place around this time but as I carried on walking I realised it wasn’t quiet at all. I could hear water from the stream that ran through the area and animals that I couldn’t see. It was almost peaceful. “Jimin…” I cautiously called out for my friend between the trees but was met with no answer. “I’m sure you can hear me, well I hope you can. I just want to make sure you’re okay.” I walked for a few more minutes in one direction as Jimin’s scent got even stronger. At least I knew I was on the right track. I called out his name again silently begging for a reply. I was intently listening when I heard some leaves and twigs on the ground being crunched. I snapped my head in the direction the noise came from and followed.
After a few moments I came across Jimin sighing and grumbling to himself. He had his back turned to me but it was very clear he had none of his clothes meaning he had indeed turned and then turned back. “Jimin.” I called out and his entire body spun to face me, hands covering his crotch. I held my hands up defensively, “Just me.” He instantly relaxed as I brought my arms down. “And don’t worry I’m not looking.” I let out a small scoff. “Thank god it's you, how would I explain this to a regular person from the city?” He let out a breath, “Help me find my shit?”
“Sure.”
I began looking around with him in search of his clothes. “Are you okay?” I asked as I was looking around an old tree stump. “Um yeah. Just… I just freaked out a bit these stupid irregular moon cycles are really messing with me.” I heard him huff from a few metres away. “As long as you’re okay man.” I walked around the stump checking the floor when I saw some material and picked it up, when I lifted it I was met with a small piece of clothing and turned to face Jimin’s direction, “Found your underwear.” I began to walk over to him with the underwear pinched between two fingers. “Oh my god thank fuck for that.” Jimin rushed over and snatched the clothing from my hands and hurriedly put it on. “At least no one can see your dick now.” I smiled which only earned me a playful nudge from him. Jimin sighed, “I give up with the rest, let's just go home.” He looked so tired and worn out so I just agreed and began walking with him.
After a few minutes I realised it was getting a little cooler so I took my jacket off and handed it over to Jimin who just stared at it. “Don’t be stupid put it back on.” I rolled my eyes and shoved it into his chest and let go so he had no choice but to keep hold of it.”You'll freeze to death idiot.” He silently obeyed and put the jacket on. My phone rang in the quiet which made both of us jump a little. When I took the device out of my pocket I saw that it was Yoongi calling. I answered the phone as Jimin very clearly listened to the conversation.
“Yo Hobi did you find him yet?” Yoongi’s voice echoed down the phone.
“Well hello to you too. Yes I found him. Do you mind coming to pick us up?” I asked.
“Why can’t you guys just run back?” Yoongi huffed.
“Because Jimin’s butt naked.”
“No I’m not!” Jimin shouted down the phone.
“Hmmm okay then, can’t let the whole city see his little friend can we? Where are you guys.”
“That’s not funny!”
“The woods just outside of town.” I told him ignoring Jimin’s remarks.
“Cool I’ll be there soon.”
“Byyeee.
Jungkook’s POV
“I’m gonna go pick them up, Jimin’s naked and he will definitely get arrested if he roams the streets like that. Who’s coming with?” Yoongi announced once he put the phone down. He stood up and found his car keys.
“I have to see this!” I jumped up, it would be too funny to pass up the opportunity. I received a few confused looks from the group, especially Yoongi.
“You seem a little too excited by that.” JIn giggled, head leaning on Namjoon’s shoulder. He seemed tired and I wasn't surprised, we had been pretty busy lately.
Yoongi rolled his eyes as he told me to hurry up, he was already out the door before I had managed to grab my jacket. I snatched the material off of the couch from under Namjoon who just huffed as I disturbed his position. Almost falling over Irene I bolted out of the door after my friend. I impatiently waited for the elevator doors to open bouncing as the numbers counted up to the floor that we were on. The doors finally opened and I jumped in pressing the button for the bottom floor. As the doors closed my phone rang. It was Yoongi.
“I’m leaving without you, you take too long.”
“What!? No you’re not!”
“Watch me.”
The ding of the elevator made me snap my head up and continue running through the building until I reached the exit and made it through the door. I saw Yoongi’s car sitting there and opened the door. “I thought you were leaving without me?” Yoongi glanced at me before turning the engine on. “I can’t do that to you can I? Get in.” I sat down and put my belt on, “Let’s go find nakey Jimin.” I smiled, Yoongi just snickered a little and pulled off.
We were driving for about twenty minutes before reaching the woods, traffic wasn’t too bad so we made it there quicker than we usually would have. I had started eating some random snacks Yoongi had in his car while he pulled up and rang the others to try and find out where they were. They didn't pick up the first time which was a little weird, what else could they be doing other than protecting Jimin’s decency. Yoongi tried again and this time they answered and he put it on loud speaker so i could hear the conversation.
“Hey, we have just arrived by that big ass sign.” Yoongi told them only to be instantly answered.
“Yeah I know.” Hoseok told us.
“How?” Yoongi asked him a little confused.
“I can hear Kook eating.” I instantly stopped crunching the food in my mouth while Yoongi looked over at me in slight disgust.
“Sorry..” I muffled, my mouth full of food.
I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and snapped my head in that direction, I intently looked out of the window in search of what I saw while Yoongi carried on talking to the others. I didn’t pay much attention as I was focusing on the woods outside of the car but one part caught my attention.
“Are you guys close or should we come meet you?”
“Um about a ten minute walk? You can if you want.”
“Why not. C’mon Kook.” Yoongi tapped me.
“So that wasn’t them..?” I asked, more to myself than anyone else but it seemed like Yoongi heard me.
“What are you talking about?” He had already hung up on Hoseok and was getting out of the car. I decided to follow suit.
“I thought I saw something over there.” I pointed in the direction I was looking as I closed the car door, Yoongi shut his side and walked around to me, inspecting the area.
“Probably just a fox or something, let’s go.” He patted my shoulder and turned in the direction of Jimin and Hoseok.
I stayed put for a couple of seconds, staring intensely at the beginning of the woods. I could've sworn it was something else over there but shrugged it off and jogged over to catch up with Yoongi. It was already dark and I did not want to be left alone here. The woods were really pretty in the daytime but at night? It gave me chills. Always so creepy and eerie, I hated it. I now hated it even more knowing about all of the mythical creatures that roamed the streets. It had started to get cooler as we were walking around the trees and I didn't have the warmest of jackets on so I was shivering a little bit but then I thought of how cold Jimin would be and suddenly I felt better.
I felt very anxious walking through the woods at this time, it was unusual I was never usually this on edge about being here. I had been here on my own before and not felt an ounce of anxiety before and yet here I was jumping at every little sound. I heard something rustling in the bushes and instantly jumped closer to Yoongi and grabbed his sleeve. He looked at me a little confused. “What is wrong with you lately, it's just animals.” He didn’t shove me away though, just let me cling onto his arm for dear life. “Look I don’t know, I just wanna get out of here as quick as possible okay?” I sighed. I just wanted to be back in Jimin's apartment, or at home with my parents, I missed them like crazy and everything's fine when you’re with your parents right?
It took a few more minutes before we bumped into the boys, Jimin looked hilarious which took my mind off of the constant fear for a second. All he had on was his underwear and Hoseok’s jacket. “You lied, also you look so funny right now.” I pointed at Hoseok and then at Jimin before laughing a little. Jimin just huffed in response as I continued giggling at him. Yoongi started smiling too and soon enough audible laughter could be heard from the both of us. Hoseok was just smirking the entire time while Jimin became a little irritated. “Can you guys cut it out? This is kinda embarrassing.” He sighed. “Why are you embarrassed with a body like that? Mr. I work out in all my spare time.” JImin shoved Yoongi out of annoyance as I slowly brought my phone out of my pocket and snapped a picture. Jimin turned towards me, “Really?!” I laughed as he just walked past me in the direction we had come from, back to the car. “Let’s go assholes!” He shouted from a few feet ahead as we followed.
I still wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible but annoying JImin was easing the feeling of impending doom. I was still jumpy as hell though. We hadn’t been walking for long when Jimin turned around, eyebrows furrowed and pointing at me.
“Why do you reek of anxiety?” we all stopped as I smiled sheepishly back at Jimin. “You can smell that?” I asked, sniffing my shirt.
“You can’t smell it, idiot.” Hoseok shook his head and I let go of my shirt and straightened it out. Jimin stood waiting for an answer but I was too busy wondering how on earth they can smell emotions.
“He’s been like this the entire time.” Yoongi sighed and carried on walking ahead of Jimin, back to the car. I awkwardly scrambled towards Yoongi and walked next to him. I heard something in a tree and my heart almost stopped right there and when I turned back to see Jimin and Hoseok they were staring at me, still waiting for an explanation on why I was so on edge. “Look it's just dark and creepy, okay?” I shrugged and carried on walking. The other two walked a bit faster so they were walking directly beside me.
“You used to voluntarily come out here on your own when you were like fifteen what changed?” Hoseok nudged me with his elbow.
“Uh I didn’t know about big ass wolf-like creatures trying to tear up the city back then.” The other’s just snickered, guess it was my turn to get made fun of now.
For the next few minutes everything felt safeish, I mean if anything did go wrong I had two werewolves right by my side to protect me if need be. Even though I had protection the uneasy feeling in my stomach just grew with each passing second we were still in the woods. I must have really smelled and I was silently apologising to my friends for the stench I was no doubt producing through my emotions. Yoongi had to stop to tie his shoelace and it only made me more impatient to get back home, he was taking forever because once he did one lace it was a different tightness to his other shoe so he untied that one and redid it too. I was irritated by how long it was taken and began to fidget, jerking my head at every rustle of leaves. “Why can’t you stand still for thirty seconds?” Hoseok huffed, shivering in the process as Jimin had obtained his jacket. “I just don’t want to be here right now. It feels off. I have a bad gut feeling..” I whipped my head behind me in hearing something else, something that sounded a lot like a low growl. “We’ll be fine Kook-” “Shut up.” I cut Jimin off. “That's just rude yo-” “Yo I said shut up a second.” I listened hard as the other’s stood confused. “I swear I heard a growl..”I trailed off and as soon as I did I heard it again only this time it was a lot louder and everyone else seemed to hear it too. “What the fuck was that?” Jimin whispered. We all stood there in silence searching the bushes and trees until I came across red eyes illuminating in the darkness, I gulped and tried to tell the others but sound refused to come out of my mouth. Instead I just used my arms to grab everyone's attention and when i did i heard Yoongi and Hoseok mutter in unison.
Summary: You’re they only one who knows about Jimin’s secret but there’s someone else you didn’t know about...
Jimin’s POV
I had never been so relieved after hearing Yoongi’s voice through the phone. I was more than scared when Y/N had told us what was going on and I was more than ready to go find them when Tae finally got a hold of them to find out that everyone was okay. It still left us with a problem though, a random creature running around the city. I had a feeling it had something to do with the moon cycles which meant that we needed to get through all of these resources as fast as possible.
We had to start without the others if we wanted to get through as many as we could before we all passed out from sleep deprivation, which is where things seemed to be heading at this point. I grabbed the bag and crate I had brought with me from Lisa’s and set them down in the middle of the room, I sat next to them crossed legged and began taking all of the books and articles out. Namjoon and Jin looked over at me and their faces lit up with realisation and they started doing the same. Jin was to my right and Namjoon to my left as we were piling the books.
“Woah..” I heard Jungkook from behind me.
“That's a lot of books.” Taehyung stated and I heard Irene snicker.
“That's because they belong to Lisa. Am I right?”
“Yep.” I smiled at her.
Taehyung, Jungkook and Irene started piling their books too, there were not many but I wasn’t too surprised since Irene didn’t have many general books anyway, they were all spell related. Irene sat next to Namjoon and Jungkook sat next to her while Taehyung sat next to Jin, we were sort of in a half circle with enough room between us for all of the books we had. Once we had all of the books on the floor we threw the bags and crates to the side and looked at the resources we had in front of us. There was a lot there.
“We need some sort of order, it's too messy.” Namjoon spoke.
“Yeah maybe we need to categorise them?” Jin picked up a book and read the title before huffing, “How though?”
I thought for a moment before speaking up.
“How about obvious things? So a pile of books that are specifically about moon cycles, one for books on supernatural creatures and then a separate pile for books that don’t fit into either category?” I suggested.
My friends around me nodded and we began sorting the mess in front of us. Even though there were at least sixty books here it didn’t take long for the six of us to categorise the books into the agreed piles. Once we were done we took a quick break to see how the others were. I took out my phone and texted them.
Me: You guys okay??
Hoseok: Yeah, on our way back now
Me: Good let me know when you get close
Y/N: Will do dont worry!
I put my phone away and told everyone else that they should be back soon before deciding to get started on looking through the books.
“The sooner we start , the sooner we can finish.” Taehyung stated.
“Oh wait there's something we have to tell you guys first.” Irene intervened as she looked between Jungkook and Taehyung. They looked a little confused at first but then seemed to understand what she was talking about when she held up an old looking book. I stared at the book and wondered what could be so important about it.
“Someone is helping us.” Jungkook chimed in.
“Oh that's cool, who?” I asked still not sure what the book was for
“That's the thing..” Irene began. “We don’t know.”
I scrunch my face up in confusion and look at Namjoon and Jin to see the same variant of expression. At least I wasn’t the only one who had no idea what was going on.
“What do you mean you don’t know?” Already I was starting to regret asking. How did they know someone was helping but not who? I let them explain as I couldn’t figure it out for myself.
“Well while we were looking through the books Jungkook found that and it's not exactly the same as Irene’s” Taehyung began, pointing at the book. He was right though it looked nothing like Irene’s other books she had, was it even hers? “She said it wasn’t hers and we were a little puzzled but left it at that and went back to research but then he called us back over.”
“It was blank when we first looked at it but then writing started to just randomly appear, freaked me out if I’m being honest.” Jungkook continued. He looked at us with a dead serious expression, I knew Jungkook liked being a bit of a prankster but he was definitely telling the truth even if I didn’t exactly know what the truth was yet.
“Wait.” Jin held his hand up as though he was in school. “Writing just randomly appeared on the page?”
“Agreed.” Namjoon shifted his position so he had his arms stretched backwards supporting him and had his legs straight out in front of him. “ How does that even happen? Not that I’m finding it hard to believe after what's happened the last few days.” He sighed in the last part.
“A witch, I don’t know who but they’re strong.” Irene set the book down on an open page with the words ‘you need help, am I right?’ written across the page. “They were able to hold a spell that was enabling them to hear everything we were saying while also using one to communicate to us through this book, that takes a lot of will power its difficult even for really skilled witches.” She explained as I reached over Namjoon’s legs and picked the book up looking at it. “I suggested a tracking spell to see if I could find out who it was but according to this so-called helper it wouldn’t work.” Irene rolled her eyes and I turned the page to see more writing ‘It wont work’. My eyes wandered to the page opposite to the words ‘Can’t tell you’ and I pointed at it, “What about that?” Irene sighed loudly before answering me “I asked who they were and why they were trying to hide, I looked like an idiot talking to a book to say the least.” It was a lot to take in, a mysterious witch that no one knows the identity of wanting to help. It seemed a little off if you asked me.
“Then what happened?” Namjoon asked, sitting back into his previous position of crossed legs.
“Y/N told us about that creature chasing them and we came straight here, didn’t have time to chit chat with the ghost of the book.” Jungkook sighed.
“Witch.” Taehyung corrected him.
“Whatever.”
I started playing with the pages between my fingers as I tried to process everything and come up with some sort of solution to this new problem. Jin grabbed my hand stopping my actions.
“What?” I turned to him and he was looking at the page on the other side of ‘Can’t tell you’. I furrowed my eyebrows and cautiously turned the page to see more ink. There it was swirling around the page from left to right and up and down until letters and words started forming before my very eyes to reveal a sentence.
‘Do you want my help or not?'
“Have they seriously been listening the entire time?!” Taehyung sighed loudly.
“Apparently so…” Namjoon stared at the book, a moment of silence before Jungkook broke it.
“We will consider your help, IF you answer some questions.” I looked at him, eyebrows furrowed. He was pointing at the book as he spoke and I looked around the group to find everyone as equally perplexed as me.
“What is this gonna be twenty questions or some shit?” Jin jokes.
“Don’t tempt him.” Namjoon rolled his eyes.
“What questions were you thinking, kook?” I asked cautiously.
“Well…”
Y/N’s POV
After Yoongi had gotten off of the phone with Taehyung we decided it would be best to start moving since we weren’t actually too sure on how to get back to Jimin’s. We were too busy trying to lose that thing to actually pay attention to where we were going, we didn’t exactly want to lead it to a building with all our friends in it. We drove around looking at our surroundings to find that we actually had no idea where we were.
“You guys recognise any of these buildings?” Yoongi stretched his neck to get a better look.
“I do not, no. I do however have a headache that's randomly appeared out of nowhere so that's fun” I answered scanning the buildings we were passing while Hoseok just mumbled.
“Nope. I feel you Y/N I feel sick it's kind of making me want to vomit.”
“Not in the car I beg. But I'm feeling a little off too.” Yoongi also wasn’t feeling too good, weird how we all felt like this so suddenly.
We drove around for a few more minutes in silence. Not one shop or café or house looked familiar to us and it was starting to worry me a little bit.
“Don’t you think it's a little weird?” Hoseok asked after a while.
“Which?” Yoongi inquired as he drove slowly up the road, trying to get a hint of where we were.
“This.” I turned around to see him motioning to the space around him. ”How can we be this lost, we’ve grown up in this city, we know the ins and outs of this entire place. And yet here we were not recognising a single thing.” He was beginning to get agitated, as was I.
“You do have a point..” I looked back out of the window, now that I looked closely and actually thought about it nothing even resembled our home. “Do you think there's something supernatural to do with it?”
“I hope not, we have enough on our plate right now.” Yoongi joined in. “Fuck this, I’m asking someone.” He slowed down the car and pulled up before rolling down his window and shouting somebody over. “Hey!, Excuse me can you tell us where we are, I think we might be lost.” The girl looked around before realising he was talking to before coming a little closer to the car before she answered.
“Je regretted, je ne parle pas anglais.” She gave an apologetic smile before rushing off.
“No idea what she just said,I’ll try someone else.” He leaned back out of the window asking once again if someone could tell us where we are, this time it was an old man who came over to the car.
“Je suis désolé je ne parle pas anglais parlez-vous français?” when no one in the car gave him an answer he shrugged and walked away.
Yoongi turned slowly to us, jaw dropped and eyebrows knitted together. I stared back with widened eyes and I heard Hoseok exclaim from the back seat.
“They both spoke the same language.. was that a coincidence or ..? What language was that?! What the fuck is going on?!”
“I think that was.. French?” I hesitated.
“That can’t be right..” Yoongi tried calling a few more people over but he was pretty much ignored.
“Wait. shut up and listen.” I pulled him back into the car and we all sat in silence while listening. We could hear all of the people on the street and the cars going by, other various noises. The only one I was focusing on was the people, every conversation I heard as people passed by sounded like it may have been French.
After a minute or two I looked back to Hoseok and then over to Yoongi, concern covering my face.
“It's all French. They’re all speaking French…”
“Do not tell me what I think you’re gonna tell me because I will throw hands.” Yoongi narrowed his eyes at me.
“What? that I think we’re in France? Because I think we are in France..” My conclusion felt very far fetched but with the sort of evidence we had and the fact that I was pretty sure anything can happen with the whole supernatural thing, I was pretty sure I was correct.
“How the fuck are we in France?” Hoseok lunged forward from his seat so that he was in between me and Yoongi. “I’ve never even been to France!”
“You have now,” I sighed.
“No. Nope. Nada. Not happening.” Yoongi began speaking. “I refuse to believe we are in France. I refuse!”
We needed a plan and fast. I had no idea how we had even ended up in France? We were being chased for about ten to twenty minutes tops and somehow ended up in a completely different country.
“I’m freaking out just as much as you are Yoongi believe me but we need to figure out how on earth we are getting home. None of us are witches so that plans out of the window.” I Closed my eyes trying to come up with a way to get home but my thoughts were interrupted when the car horn beeped loud and constantly. I opened my eyes to see Yoongi’s head against the horn.
“Yoongi!” Both me and Hoseok shouted at him over the noise but he didn’t lift his head and people were staring at us. “Yoongi! Stop it!” I shouted even more and grabbed the back of his shirt and lifted him from the wheel. The horn stopped blaring and people stopped looking but Yoongi didn’t stop making noise as he went back to complaining about being stuck in France.
“How the FUCK does this shit even happen? I don’t get it?! WE are in fucking France? How? What bastard thinks it's acceptable to do this? HUH?” He went on swearing and ranting while I turned and looked at Hoseok and rolled my eyes at Yoongi.
“Dude shush..” Hoseok winced as Yoongi became louder in his rant.
“What fucker did this? I will personally punch them in the fucking face! I’m not afraid to beat a bitch, I will NOT hesitate to slap the fuck out of one!”
“Yoongi will you shut the fuck up!” I shouted at him quite loudly, Hoseok put his hands over his ears and winced again while Yoongi stopped mid sentence and just stared at me. “Thank you.” I said more quietly.
“We are gonna die in France. You do realise that Y/N? How are you so calm?” Hoseok asked after recovering from the nose in the car.
“No we are not, we can find a way to sort all of this out.” I smiled confidently.
“What's your plan then genius?” Yoongi had slouched in his seat, arms folded with a huff.
“I don’t have one yet..”
“That's great! WOW! Best plan ive ever heard in my enti- what the fuck?”
What we saw seemed crazy, out of this world. Everything around us looked like it was beginning to disintegrate. The buildings, the people, the cars, everything.. It was like reality was being ripped at the seams and we were on the edge. A sudden wave of nausea hit me out of nowhere and I curled over in my seat grumbling and holding my stomach. I heard the other two whine and mumble in pain. The feeling was starting to get worse and I was now squeezing my eyes as tight as possible hoping the feeling would go away. It was getting unbearable and it seemed like the others pain was too. All I could hear was my friends suffering, plus my own. But almost as soon as it started the feeling started to vanish and after a few moments I opened my eyes and sat up, I still felt nauseous but it was at least tolerable by now. I looked around to see a very familiar building next to the car. Yoongi and Hoseok hadn’t noticed as they were still trying to recover from the pain but I made sure to point it out.
“Um.. Guys look.” I spoke softly.
They both turned their heads carefully to the direction I was pointing in, next the car.
“Is that..?” Yoongi began.
“Jimin’s building?” Hoseok continued.
“Yeah..” I answered them.
There it was, Jimin’s apartment building. The place we had been trying to get to all along.
“So we aren’t in France anymore?” Hoseok asked hesitantly.
“I guess not”
“Oh than fuck for that I was getting real stressed out back there.” Yoongi let out a huge sigh but pulled a pained expression in the process and brought his hand up to his head. “You guys okay?”
“Apart from wanting to vomit right here right now yeah I’m fine, Hobi?” I answered before asking Hoseok, turning to face him.
“Uh yeah, my head feels like it might explode but it's all good.”
We sat in silence taking in whatever it was that had just happened before deciding to make our way up to Jimin’s apartment to tell them as it was pretty crazy.
As we approached Jimin’s door I noticed it was slightly open, meaning we didn’t have to knock but it also concerned me a little. Jimin never leaves his door open. As we got closer I could hear multiple voices and recognised them as the other boys. I pushed the door open, Yoongi and Hoseok on my tail as we entered the building. I could see the tops of our friends' heads gathered around something in the living room but various objects like the couch were blocking my view so I shut the door and made my way over them. I saw them all gathered around something and they were asking questions, which I could not hear any answers to. The three of us stood behind them for a moment.
“Okay but why should we trust you? We don’t know who you are.” I heard Jungkook ask.
“Who are you guys talking to?” Yoongi interjected and they all jumped away from each other and looked terrified. Obviously they hadn’t noticed we had arrived.
“Um it sounds crazy but a book.” Taehyung answered panting.
“You scared the shit out of me, are you proud of yourselves for that?” Jin exclaimed, hand on his heart.Yoongi just smirked at him and gave a quiet ‘yes’.
“You think talking to a book is crazy?!” Hoseok snorted.
“We’ve just been to France.” I finished for him. Everyone looked back up at us in confusion.
“Did you just say France?” Jimin furrowed his eyebrows.
“Yeah, I’ll explain in a second but first. You guys are talking to a book?”
Summary: You’re they only one who knows about Jimin’s secret but there’s someone else you didn’t know about
Y/N’s POV
“That..”
I inhaled quickly when whatever that thing was looked back at us. Those eyes were staring so intensely as if it were examining us. I held my breath. It felt like this thing was looking into my soul and I was too scared to breathe, never mind move.
“Yoongi…” I kept my eyes on the monster in front of us as I tried to edge Yoongi on to driving but what followed was silence and stillness.
People had begun getting out of their cars and running, yet were still sitting here and then it started walking towards us.
“Yoongi!” I let out my breath and turned to look at him, the poor boy was mortified. His entire body was tense, hands wrapped tightly around the wheel, I felt bad but this thing was getting closer and we needed to move. At least it was giving me time to get a closer look even if I did feel as though I was about to die.
“Yoongi! Drive!” I pushed his shoulder and he snapped out of whatever ever sort of trance he was in. He started the car back up in a fumble and attempted to get out of the tight fit of cars but there was no hope. The creature was only two cars in front of us now and it looked angry. No it looked more hungry. And I had a feeling we were lunch.
“Fuck it.” Yoongi spun the wheel and the car sped onto the pavement. I held on to the sides of my seat if fear. My heart was beating faster than I had ever experienced and I’m pretty sure I smelled like absolute terror, I turned around hesitantly and saw Yugyeom fumbling with his phone and Hoseok keeping his eye out of the window, watching the street. We weren’t on the pavement for long but the fear that Yoongi was going to kill someone was still present. He was swerving left and right trying to not hit anyone when he finally came off of the curb and onto the road flowing in the opposite direction to the library.
“Um guys, its running..” I spun myself around to see Hoseok and Yugyeom looking out of the rear window. They were right. The creature was sprinting after the car. After us.
“Oh no.. FASTER DRIVE FASTER!” I started yelling at Yoongi who said nothing in reply and just obeyed my orders. He was very well breaking the speed limit at this point but we were literally being hunted so if we made it out of this alive we were probably ending up in prison. We were not the only people speeding though. Others had noticed the huge, fur-less and wolf-like creature running on its hind legs after us and they had decided to start speeding too. Which only led to more problems. There were way too many other cars getting in the way, one bumped into the side of us and thankfully it was only a bump. We all shifted to the side in the car when it happened and there was a moment of panic but it was soon replaced with more panic but for the reason of that thing that was pretty set on eating us in particular.
“Where am I even supposed to be going right now?!” Yoongi exclaimed, making a random left.
“I don’t know..” Yugyeom mumbled from the back seat. I turned around again to check on the well being of my friends, they both looked scared for their lives don’t get me wrong but Yugyeom? Yugyeom looked sort of chill, apart from his face, in the madness. He was sitting with his arms crossed and was in sort of a lounging position, a lot more relaxed that he needed to be, guess that's his way of coping I thought. The wind was forcefully entering the car through the windows because of the speed and was causing me to lose my breath a little.
“Anywhere away from that thing!” Hoseok freaked out. We needed to lose it somehow. It was able to keep up with the car pretty well so how were we going to be able to lose it completely. More importantly why the hell was it here in the first place?
“Just go to Jimin’s or something.” I blurted out not knowing where else to go at this moment.
I got my phone out and with shaky hands started messaging the group to let them know the situation.
Me: Um guys we are getting chased by this enormous wolf type creature. We might actually die
Taehyung: Woah wait what?
Jimin: Seriously?!
Namjoon: You guys okay?
Jin: Where?
Jungkook: Wait why are you being chased by it?
Jimin: What does it want?
Me: Idk but like we cant lose it. Its actually the biggest creature ive seen in my life and we need to try and get rid of it somehow
Namjoon: Shall we come and help?
Taehyung: Yeah where are you guys?
Me: NO dont its too dangerous just stay where you guys are we’ll figure something out. maybe itll get tired.
Yoongi carried on twisting and turning trying to make the journey to Jimin’s as difficult as possible in an attempt to get the creature off of our tail. But alas there was still no hope, the thing was still not far behind us and was showing no signs of giving up anytime soon.
“Hey quick question.” I heard Yugyeom from behind me in a panicked tone. “Why the fuck is it chasing us?”
“I don't know, maybe it can sense that you guys are wolves or something.” He didn’t look content with the answer I gave and looked at me as though he was wanting me to answer differently. I was panting, half from the wind attacking my face and half from the fear that I may be about to die.
We drove down a few more roads and side streets with the creature not seeming to be losing the ability to follow us at all. How much stamina did this thing have? We were debating how much longer we would have to do this when Hoseok got our attention.
“Yo guys..”
I turned around to see that the creature had started.. slowing down? Maybe it was finally running out of breath. I watched as it got slower and slower, the sprint turning into a run, the run turning into a jog before it turned into a walk and stopped all together. Hoseok and Yugyeom turned back and looked at me rather confused.
“It stopped?” Yugyeom questioned.
“Oh thank god.” Yoongi let out a huge breath and started slowing down the car.
It just stood there and stared at us, watching us get away as if it had never been chasing us in the first place.
We were all panting, adrenaline pumping throughout our veins. Yoongi drove for a little while and we were silent for a few minutes.
“That was. Eventful.” Hoseok sighed. I looked at him through the mirror to see him slouching in the seat, eyes closed.
“Yeah, that was close.” Yoongi still had a tight grip on the wheel.
“Too close.” I corrected him.
We decided that we needed to stop somewhere to gather our thoughts and to calm ourselves down so we ended up stopping at a newsagent. We went inside and bought ourselves a quick snack and a drink. We were all literally shaking and needed something to stabilize us. We got back into the car to eat and just take a few minutes to ourselves. As soon as he had finished Yugyeom began moving towards the door.
“I need to go guys, I’d stay but my parents messaged me and they need me home.” He explained as he opened the door. He didn’t get out yet though, just hung his legs out.
“We can drop you off then if need be.” Yoongi offered, mouth half full with snacks.
“No, I can make it on my own.” Yugyeom refused.
“Are you sure? It's not any trouble.” I tried to persuade him.
He shook his head.
“I would stay, you know, it's still dangerous we don’t know where that thing went. It could still be around.” Hobi sat forward and warned him.
“Honestly guys I’ll be fine.” He laughed lightly. “It's not far anyway.”
“Well be careful..” Yoongi gave a concerned look.
“And message someone to let us know you get back safe.” I told him.
“Yes mother, of course father.” He laughed again and we chuckled along with him as he got out of the car and shut the door. He waved one last time before walking down the street.
We had all finished our snacks by now and sat in silence for a little longer until Yoongi’s phone rang.
“Oh it's Taehyung.”
Taehyung’s POV
I stared at the book. What is going on? I was severely confused as to who else knew about our little dilemma and who was concerned enough to ask if we needed help. It was also an odd way to ask, they couldn’t have just called or text? We all just looked at eachother not sure about what was going on. It was obvious that it must have been another witch or someone with connections to a witch otherwise there would be no other way to do this.
“Uuuuhhh….Anyone have an explanation for this?” Jungkook asked.
“Definitely a witch, no idea who though…” Irene looked back down at the book.
“Any way of finding out?” I was still very new to this too. Spells were hard and I didn’t even know I was a witch up until a couple of months ago.
“I guess I could try a tracking spell?” She looked up at me and shrugged.
I caught movement out of the corner of my eye that led my line of sight back to the book. More words were appearing. The ink danced around the page once again before another sentence was visible.
‘It wont work’
It seemed that whoever was doing this could hear everything we were saying which made me wonder even more about who this could be. Jungkook had his eyebrows furrowed and kept opening and closing his mouth as though he was trying to say something but the words didn’t seem to come out. Irene took the book out of Jungkook’s hands and examined the page before speaking.
“Who are you? And why are you trying to hide?” She paused before looking back at me and Jungkook and dropping her shoulders. “I’m talking to a book, that's new.” Her eyes shot back to the book before she pulled an unamused face and exclaimed, “Seriously?!” She turned it around to reveal the words ‘Can’t tell you.’
From what I had learned in the last couple of months the witch doing this must have been well trained and was probably older than us. Spells like this were hard. Whoever it was had to have been conducting two spells at the exact same time, one to be able to hear us and another to be writing in the book. Not to mention the strength it would take depending on how far away they were from us.. I knew Irene got real fatigued after doing one spell after another, never mind two at the same time.
I sighed at Irene, “What now?” I asked walking over to her and taking the book, she just shrugged.
“May I suggest something?” Jungkook walked over to us and I nodded. “Maybe just cooperate? We do need help after all.” He wasn’t wrong and I was about to answer when Irene beat me to it.
“It could be dangerous though”
“Why?” I raised an eyebrow at her.
“We don’t know who this is, they might have bad intentions and don't actually want to help.”
“You have a point..” Jungkook scratched the back of his neck.
I was about to speak again when my phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out to see the message.
1 New message: Squad
I unlocked the phone to see an alarming text from Y/N
Y/N: Um guys we are getting chased by this enormous wolf type creature. We might actually die
Me: Woah wait what?
Irene must have noticed my expression change, eyes widened and I was beyond shocked.
“You okay Tae?” She asked.
“Y/N said they're getting chased by a creature, said she thinks they genuinely might die…”
“Woah what?! Are they okay? What creature?” Jungkook started panicking.
“I don’t know..” My phone was vibrating in my hand but I couldn’t bring myself to look at the messages.
“We need to help them!” Irene put the book down on the table. “They could be in some serious trouble, out where they are.”
I finally lifted my phone back up
7 New messages: Squad
Jimin: Seriously?!
Namjoon: You guys okay?
Jin: Where?
Jungkook: Wait why are you being chased by it?
Jimin: What does it want?
Y/N: Idk but like we cant lose it. Its actually the biggest creature ive seen in my life and we need to try and get rid of it somehow
Namjoon: Shall we come and help?
Me: Yeah where are you guys?
As I waited for an answer I started piling the couple of books that seemed useful and grabbed a bag, I assumed it was Irene’s, and put them in. Our friends were in danger and I had a feeling it had something to do with the problem we already had.
1 New message: Squad
Y/N: NO dont its too dangerous just stay where you guys are we’ll figure something out. maybe itll get tired.
I didn’t care what Y/N was saying, we were helping no matter what. We couldn’t just let them get hunted down, what sort of friends would we be if we didn’t have each other’s backs and protect each other. I gave Irene the bag and started dialling Jimin’s number and headed for the door of the office.
“Come on”
Irene and Jungkook followed me out and Irene explained to Dowoon that she was going out. Jimin didn’t answer at first but as we walked out of the shop he picked up.
“Where are you?” I asked straight away.
“Almost at my apartment.” There was a small pause before he continued, “We need to help the others.”
“I agree, I have some books and stuff here, we’ll meet you there and we can find out where they are and help them.” I explained a plan.
“Yeah that sounds good, is it just you and Kook?”
“No Irene is helping too.”
“Okay see you soon.”
“Bye.”
I put my phone in my pocket and we began rushing to Jimin’s apartment, we needed to help them and help them fast. I tried calling each of them. Y/N, Yoongi, Hoseok and Yugyeom but nobody answered which had me insanely worried.
We didn’t talk much on our way, just tried to get there as soon as we could. After a while we made it to Jimin’s place and got to his door in a sweat. He opened the door and we piled in. Jin and Namjoon were with him and they all looked worried sick. They were a bit pale obviously thinking of the worst case scenario, as was I. I dumped the books in the living room and tried ringing my friends again, the only one to pick up was Yoongi.
“Hey.” He sounded shook up.
“Are you guys okay?!” I basically shouted down the phone and everyone around me looked up, hope in their eyes.
“Yeah we um… it stopped chasing us. We’ve stopped off to take a breather, to calm down.” He explained and all of my tension dissipated. They were okay and alive.
I noticed Jimin was staring intensely, he must have been listening to what Yoongi was telling me. I saw his shoulders drop in relief as he heard that everyone was okay and everyone else figured it out from mine and Jimin’s reaction.
“Okay good, We are already at Jimin’s so hurry back. Or do you want us to meet you guys. There was a moment of silence and I assumed he was consulting with the others.
“I think we’re good. Thanks though Tae. We are gonna make our way there in a minute.”
”Okay well be careful. Please. We can’t have you guys dying on us.” I sighed.
I put the phone down and the tension in the room was now gone, it felt very tranquil and that made me feel so much better. We all sat in silence just taking in the panic that had been running through our veins. The last thing we needed was four deaths on our hands as well as irregular moon cycles and apparently a creature prowling the city.
Summary: You’re they only one who knows about Jimin’s secret but there’s someone else you didn’t know about.
Yoongi’s POV
“Lets get started then”
So we now had Yugyeom to help us out, the more people the better. This stuff was still new to me which meant that I needed as many experienced people I could get around me. On the outside I made it out as though it didn’t bother me at all but when Hoseok first turned in front of me I was freaked out to the max, I was seriously confused and quite honestly thought I was going insane. I had to learn to understand it and live with it and now I was here, talking to another werewolf about irregular moon cycles.
“Where exactly do we start?” I asked.
“Find out what the hell an irregular moon cycle is and why it's happening.” Y/N said in a matter of fact tone.
“Okay but how?” Yugyeom asked my follow up question before I got the chance.
“Library.” Hoseok stated. “They have tons of stuff on mythology and stuff like that. And let's be honest we basically are mythology at this point.” He sat with his arms folded.
I glanced around to see Yugyeom and Y/N both nodding in agreement.
“Library it is then” Yugyeom stood up. “You guys coming or not?”
Y/N’s POV
We all made our way back into Yoongi’s car and headed to the library although we were losing out on time because a car had broken down in the middle of the road which was only a one lane road anyway.
“You have got to be kidding me!” I whined.
“How far is the library from here?” Yugyeom’s head popped in between me and Yoongi.
“Like another 15 minute drive, god knows how long it would take to walk.” Yoongi answered as Yugyeom returned to his seat.
He was right though it would take way longer to walk than drive but at this point it might have been our only option. We needed to utilize the time we had efficiently and being stuck in traffic because a car broke down was not efficient in the slightest.
“Two of us go and two of us stay” I heard Hoseok from the back seat.
“Good idea Hobi,” I told him. “If traffic gets moving we can pick you up on the way.”
“Woah wait a second, who said me and Hoseok were the ones going?” Yugyeom’s head was back in the space between me and Yoongi.
“Me.” I pushed his head back so he would sit down properly. “You guys are the werewolves, you have super speed. Use it.”
Yugyeom sighed in response.
“She has a point.” Hoseok shrugged.
“You’re supposed to be on my side!” Yugyeom exclaimed.
“Oh my god stop being childish and go, this is important.” I turned angrily in my seat and glared at him.
“Okay okay” They began getting out of the car when the horn sounded really loud making them both jump. I looked back at Yoongi who was holding down the horn, it was way too loud and not helping at all so I slapped his arm. He flinched away from me and the horn.
“Nobody is moving!” He slammed his hands on the steering wheel and groaned.
The boys continued with shuffling towards the exit of the car doors when we suddenly heard a loud howl. I snapped my head back to Hoseok and Yugyeom who were looking back in shock, Yoongi had turned around with wide eyes.
“That was a howl…” I hesitated.
“Even you guys heard that, that means everyone else in this area did too.” Yugyeom was still sitting on the seat with the car door wide open.
“Who was it?” Hoseok asked standing up out of the car and looking around.
“Jimin?” Yoongi suggested.
“No I would be able to tell if it was Jimin, he is my alpha after all” Hoseok bent down and poked his head back into the car. “It didn’t sound threatening or anything. Shall we go check it out?”
“I mean if it didn’t sound like it was a problem I’d leave it, maybe it's just someone calling for their pack?” I shrugged.
“Yeah we have more important things on our hands right now.” Yoongi added.
We didn’t have time to be worrying about another werewolf, there were probably another dozen in the area anyway. Hoseok and Yugyeom got out of the car and shut the doors behind them and without another word started speeding down the road, not too fast though in an attempt to not draw any attention to themselves. Me and an extremely irritated Yoongi stayed in the car in case the traffic got moving. While we were waiting I decided I should update the rest of the group on what was going on.
Me: Yo guys we are stuck in traffic, a car broke down and we can’t get past. We were going to the library buuuuuuttt.
Taehyung: Thats gonna have an impact on the amount of research you get done.
Me: Yeah, Hobi and Yugyeom have got out and started walking/running there in case we get stuck for a while. If we get moving again we are gonna pick them up on the way.
Jimin: Lisa has a lot of resources so even if you don't get much done we can probably borrow them off of her
Me: how is it going with everyone btw?.
Taehyung: Jungkook was shook by Irene’s office and now we are looking through all of her books to try and find something to help.
Me: Awesome
Jimin: We are trying to get through as many resources and articles we can find in this place, they have tons of this shit.
Me: Great, I'll keep you guys updated.
I put my phone away and huffed. This was going to take a while.
Taehyung’s POV
We had been searching for about an hour with no luck whatsoever apart from the first book Irene pulled out. It didn’t have much information, just basic stuff about the moon cycles nothing about irregular cycles though. Because it was only a small office, half of which was filled with potions, there weren’t many books too look at but you were wrong if you thought that we weren’t going to scan and analyse every page to make sure we didn’t miss something potentially important.
I was half way through a book on nature and spells, the first volume of three, when I heard Jungkook from behind me.
“Hey what about this one?”
I turned around and saw Irene walking over to him. I decided to follow, it was weird though since Jungkook hadn’t asked whether or not he should look in a particular book yet. As I made my way over Irene took the book from Jungkook’s hands.
“Huh…” She looked at it for a moment before turning it over to examine the back.
“What's the problem?” I asked when I reached them.
“I.. I don’t think this is mine?” Irene furrowed her eyebrows. “It's different…”
“Different?” I glanced at Jungkook. I went and placed the book I was holding onto the table in the middle of the room.
“That’s why I asked, it doesn’t look like the other books.” He explained as I walked back.
He was right. All of Irene’s books had patterns all over the covers, front and back, apart from where the title of the book was. And each book had its own unique pattern, not one of them was the same, they had different colours racing through the patterns too. To indicate what that book was about, it helped find a series or the context of the books. But this book? It was old, really old, it looked like it was going to fall apart if Irene didn’t handle it carefully enough. It looked really dusty and from what I could see of the pages they looked wrinkled and ripped in parts.
Irene was still looking the book over trying to find any hint of what it was called. “Yeah, it's definitely not mine” She confirmed, looking up at us.
“Then how did it get here?” I asked.
“Maybe someone left it here.” Jungkook suggested.
“I don’t think so. Nobody ever brings books in here, I have pretty much everything I need already.”
Irene opened the cover of the book, the first page was blank. So we still didn’t know what it was about. She turned the page which revealed another blank one. She flipped through the entire book, all of the pages were blank.
“That's weird.” I put my hand out asking for the book which Irene handed to me.
I double checked just to see if maybe we had missed something, even if it was a name, but as before every single page was blank.
“Do you think it could be like a journal or something?” Jungkook questioned.
“I don’t know, maybe.” Irene sighed.
“But if it was a journal why has no one written in it? It seems way too old to be unused, I don’t know what it is exactly but I’m just thinking about how a really old and unused journal would randomly end up in here.” I thought outloud.
Irene and Jungkook looked at each other before turning back to me. “That’s a valid theory actually.” Irene agreed.
“Whatever it is it's pretty useless to us.” I handed the book back to Jungkook and walked back over to the table to pick up where I left off in the nature book. Irene went back to pick out some more books but I noticed that Jungkook was just staring at the one he had found.
Jungkook’s POV
After Taehyung gave me the book back I just sort of looked at it. It was really weird even if I didn’t know what the norm around here was. It was the only book that looked like this and Irene said it wasn’t even hers, she doesn’t understand how it's in here when she’s never seen it before. It confused me and it was making me feel.. off. I didn’t know why but it was making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and was giving me goosebumps. I reached up, about to place it back onto the shelf when I stopped just an inch away from replacing it. Something was telling me to look back through it, even though I had already seen Irene and Taehyung look through it and both times every page came up blank I wanted to open it again. No. I needed to open it again. I brought the book back down and looked at it for a moment. My hand hesitated over the cover before I lifted it onto the first page, there was still nothing there but as I stared for another couple of seconds something happened.
“Um, guys you might wanna see this.” I called the other two over and they were at my side pretty fast looking at the page with me.
“Am I seeing what I think I’m seeing?” Taehyung asked, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape.
“What the fuck…” Irene whispered as her fingers grazed across the side of the book.
Black ink had started appearing on the page, it danced around before letters and words started forming. We watched in complete amazement and confusion, possibly some suspicion too as the ink flowed across the page to reveal a question.
‘You need help, am I right?’
Jimin’s POV
Mess. The room was a complete and utter mess due to our research. Once I had told Lisa about our whole situation and she agreed to help she gathered some books they had laying around. There were open books all over the floor and paper we had been scribbling on covered the table and couch. After we had been through the books that she had there, which took about an hour and a half maybe two hours, she led us out of the living room and to a locked door. We stopped in front of it and she turned to us.
“If you ever wondered where we keep all of our resources..” she paused. “It's all right in here.” She smiled tapping the door a couple of times with her hand.
“So you have your own personal library?” Namjoon questioned.
Lisa stuck her hand in her pocket and brought out a key, connected to the end of it was what looked like a keypad. “You could say that.” She glanced back, smirking, before putting the key into the door and entering a code on the keypad. The keypad lit up green and beeped twice, she then turned the key and unlocked the door. “Close this door behind you.” She instructed before leading us through the door and down a set of stairs. I had never been down here in my time of knowing Lisa but I was sure I was about to be surprised at what I saw. And I was right.
As we got down I saw what bust had been thousands of books on shelves that reached the ceiling. It was huge, it was like a basement but it was certainly larger than the actual house, it looked like it stretched for hundreds of feet in front of me.
“Woah.” I heard Jin sigh behind me.
“Ta-da!” Lisa gestured to the shelves, cupboards and draws around the enormous area.
I stood in complete awe, trying to take it all in. I scanned the shelves before realising that when the books finished the spaces on the shelves were filled with weapons and a lot of them. There were guns, bow and arrows, daggers, swords, crossbows and many others I didn’t know the name of, I knew they looked dangerous though.
“You guys have a crazy amount of weapons.“ Namjoon was spinning around as he walked through the room.
“We get into some crazy shit.” Lisa laughed.
“Where are we even supposed to start?” I asked, still taking everything in.
“Well there’s fourteen bookcases on each side of the room so… split? Two of us one the left wall, two on the right. We can go through seven book cases each.” Lisa figured.
“Sounds like a plan.” Jin mumbled picking up and examining a crossbow.
Lisa’s eyes widened as she ran over to him. “Please don’t touch that if you don’t know how to use it!” Jin jumped back from her sudden outburst, hand against his heart. “You scared the shit out of me..” She took no notice of him and took the crossbow from his loose grip. “Sorry but if you don’t wanna end up with an arrow through your skull, don’t touch.” She put the cross bow back where it originally was and grabbed Jin by the shoulders. She spun him around and walked him in front of a book shelf. “From here to the last book case on your right are your ones to look at, find anything useful just pile it up.” She instructed, she turned and pointed at me. “Jimin you can do the rest on this side while me and Namjoon do the other side of the room.” I nodded and gave her a thumbs up walking to my station for the next god knows how long.
I began looking at books. I looked at the title and then if that seemed useful looked at the contents, if that seemed useful I put it in a pile. I didn’t have much luck at first but after about fifteen minutes of looking I began coming across books that may be helpful. I picked one up simply titled ‘The moon and its cycles’, I opened up the cover to find the contents of the book, ‘Why the moon has cycles’ ‘The patterns of the cycles’ ‘How to use the cycles to your advantage’. The contents were useful enough for me and I placed it into the pile when my phone vibrated in my pocket, I took it out to see the notification.
1 New message: Squad
I leaned back onto the bookcase and opened the message
Y/N: Still stuck in traffic, yoongis lost the will to live and im losing my sanity
Me: Oh my god, why is it so bad?
Y/N: Idk but its a lot worse than we thought, I was under the impression the problem was only a couple cars a head of us but whatever the hold up is its way further up the road than we thought and we still havnt heard anything from hobi or yugyeom.
Me: Huh weird, well when lisa said she had a lot of resources she meant A LOT so if shes cool to come back with us we can bring all of these books with us and we can all look through try to find something helpful
Y/N: Awesome sounds like a plan, im gonna ring hobi see whats going on.
I put my phone back into my pocket and looked around at the others before getting back to my own searching. They all had pretty decent sized piles of books meaning that we had a hell of a lot of reading to do when we got back, speaking of which we didn’t have much time until we had to stop and go back to whoever’s house we were gonna go to. I got back to searching the book case. It was quite quiet since we were all too focused on the task at hand, there only seemed to be the sounds of pages turning, sighing and books being placed in the piles. That was until we heard footsteps rushing down the stairs only to be met with Lisa’s father.
“Hey Mr. Monoban” I waved at him to which he responded with a blunt ‘hello Jimin’ as he sped past me.
“Woah dad what's going on?” Lisa put the book in her hand down and walked over to her father who was opening a cupboard and taking artillery out.
“Momo has run into a little bit of trouble.” He shoved the artillery into a pouch around his waist before moving on to the shelves with all of the weapons on them.
“Wait.” Lisa followed him over as he picked up a rifle. “Again? what's happening now? Is she okay?”.
“She’s fine Lisa but I do need your help, I’m sorry but your friends are going to have to leave.” He glanced at us and sent an apologetic smile before picking more weapons.
Lisa walked back with a sigh.
“Sorry guys we have a little bit of a situation so you’re gonna have to leave earlier than expected, but I promise that I’ll come help as soon as I’m done just let me know where you are okay?” She explained.
“That's fine, do you have anything we can carry these books in before we leave?” Namjoon asked.
“Oh yeah sure!” Lisa disappeared behind a door and when she returned he had three crates and three bags with her, one for each of us.
“Thank you.” Jin grabbed a bag and started filling it with books as did Namjoon and I, once they were filled we began filling the crates as Lisa went to pick out weapons with her father.
As soon as we finished packing the books we began our journey to my place since no one else was done with research.
Y/N’s POV
Boredom. Pure boredom. There was only about half an hour left until we had to start meeting back up with everyone and I had been playing rock, paper, scissors with Yoongi for the past forty minutes. We had moved about three times the entire three hours and it was only by a few inches. It was getting to us to say the least.
“Oh would you look at that, you win. Again.” I huffed and hung my arm out of the window.
“Told you I’m amazing at this game.” Yoongi sighed, sarcasm lacing his voice.
It had been a long day and Hoseok and Yugyeom hadn’t even bothered to let us know how things were going at the library. I leaned my head on the side of the window and closed my eyes, if we were going to be waiting any longer I may as well take a nap while I’m at it. I almost actually fell asleep too, the heat from the sun was making me extremely sleepy and the music we had on the radio was quite relaxing too. That was until I heard shouting, that actually sounded like Hoseok and Yugyeom.
“Can you see them?”
“No.”
I opened my eyes and sat up.
“What?” Yoongi sat up with me.
I just shushed him.
Then not too far from the car on the pavement I saw the two voices in question jog past.
“Seriously?” I pinched the bridge of my nose. I stuck my head out of the window before shouting at the boys. “Yo dumbasses, you ran past us!” As soon as I started shouting they both spun around and bolted back towards the car as I pulled my head back in .“Some werewolves you ar-”
“No time for jokes.” Hoseok shouted as he almost ripped the car door off from opening it so hard.
“Just drive!” Yugyeom did the same thing.
They both slammed the doors with a loud bang.
“You wanna pay for this?” Yoongi spun around in his seat glaring at the younger boys.“Oh my god drive will you!” Hoseok shoved him back around.
“Can we do it faster please!” Yugyeom exclaimed. They were both out of breath and on edge.
“Stop shouting! Yoongi drive, shut them up. You two what the fuck is going on?”
Yoongi began trying to squeeze his way out of the traffic, which was proving difficult. Hoseok and Yugyeom just started trying to catch their breath.
“We can explain if we just get out of here fast.” Yugyeom fell back in his seat.
“I’m trying there's sort of cars all up in my shit right now!” Yoongi started getting irritated by the panic in the car.
“See? We are moving now what's going on?”
Just as I finished the question we heard what sounded like claws being dragged on metal followed by a low animalistic growl and people screaming. Yoongi stopped the car for a second and we all looked ahead of us. Above the top of the cars ahead we saw two enormous red eyes staring back at us.
Summary: Fighting zombies is a hard job but there is no one Hoseok would rather do it with than his best friend, Yoongi. They prefer to worry about the smaller things in life, zombie busting is just daily routine at this point.
The burning rays of sun shone brightly across the sky, not a cloud in sight. The streets were bare, air hot and the breeze brought in a little bit of relief from the heat. If this weren’t the middle of the apocalypse one might say it was a glorious day but that unfortunately wasn’t the case. For Hoseok and Yoongi it was day 236 since the outbreak, they had no idea what day of the week it was but still went by a weekly system to keep track of the time. They just used numbers instead, well Hoseok did anyway. “Is it day 3 or 4? I can’t remember.” He asked Yoongi who was on look out. “I don’t care it's just another day of the same old shit.” He replied sitting on the porch of the house they had used as a home for the past 3 months. “Can you stop being so moody, I’m trying to figure out how much longer we have before supplies run out.” Hoseok huffed from inside, sheltering himself away from the heat. It was one of the hottest days they had encountered so far and he was struggling to cope. He wondered how Yoongi was coping outside but then remembered he forced him to be on look out while he went through supplies. It had been about two weeks since they last went out to scavenge for food and other important things they needed it might seem like it would be hard for them but they had found the perfect place to get everything they needed. The house they had been staying at was about three or four miles away from the nearest shopping centre, it wasn’t big but it was the closest one and could keep them going for another couple of months. They had also realised while getting to grips with their bearings that there was another shopping centre in the next town over, it was around seven miles away and was a lot bigger than the other one. Perfect for when they could no longer use the other one.
“Hey could you pass me a bottle of water? It’s horribly warm out here.” Yoongi grabbed his shirt covering his chest and started fanning himself with it. Without even looking up from his paper Hoseok answered from his position in the hallway, “Um no, you’ll ruin my list.” Yoongi rolled his eyes, “Dude come on I’m dying out here.” He turned in his chair to a point where he could see Hoseok through the doorway. Hoseok lifted his head and stared right back at the boy on the porch before smirking. “Take your shirt off if you’re that hot.” He winked right after causing Yoongi to huff and turn back around mumbling as he did so. “I fucking hate you.” Something suddenly forcefully hit his arm before hitting the floor. Yoongi leaned over to look at what had been thrown at him, there lay a bottle of water on the floor. He reached down and picked it up, unscrewing the lid while shouting back to Hoseok, “Still hate you but thanks for the assault.” The boy in the hall just laughed at himself and continued tallying up their supplies.
After a few hours of nothing happening Hoseok had come to the conclusion they needed to go out and “Run some errands.” as he liked to call it. And by that he meant take one of the working cars they had found, take it to the shopping centre, kill any zombies, get stuff and return home. They grabbed a few snacks for the road and obviously some weapons for protection before they set off on their errands. They got into a car and Yoongi began to start it up only it wouldn’t actually start. “That’s another one gone bust.” Hoseok sighed opening the door to get into another car, his companion following his footsteps and starting up a different car. “Who would’ve thought I wouldever get my dream of several cars. Even if it did take the literal end of the world.” He snickered as he pulled out onto the road and headed in the direction of the shopping centre. “Aww someone’s in a better mood now. Are we over me throwing the bottle now?” Hoseok said in a babyish tone. Yoongi glanced at him before he put his eyes back on the road, not that he really needed to pay that much attention.
“No I’m still mad at you for that.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
Hoseok yawned and made himself comfortable in the chair, it wasn’t going to be a long drive but he was so tired he was sure he was about to pass out. Sleeping had become almost impossible with each day that passed, he was constantly on edge that a zombie would find its way into the house and kill both of them in their sleep. He would much rather go out fighting a hoard in a heroic battle of the living versus the dead. He closed his eyes for a second but that second turned into several minutes as he found peace with falling asleep in the car. “Why are you so quiet?” Yoongi asked turning his head to see Hoseok fast asleep. He smiled softly before turning it into a devious little smirk, he had a fun idea. He left the sleeping boy alone for a few more minutes until they arrived at the shopping centre. He slammed on the break bringing the car to a grinding halt as he started shouting, “OOHH MMYY GODD”. Hoseok Suddenly jumped up screaming and scrambling around in his seat which caused Yoongi to burst out laughing. “AAHH!! What!? Aaaahhhh oh myy What?! What?!” He buried his head in his knees before realising that the boy next to him was literally out of breath from laughing. He looked up and put his legs back down before clearing his throat, Yoongi calmed himself and gave him his attention.
“So um, we aren’t in danger right now are we?” He asked quietly.
“Nope.”
“You just did that to be a dick?”
“Yep.”
Hoseok nodded before turning and slapping Yoongi repeatedly. “What the fuck is wrong with you?!” He carried on hitting the driver of the vehicle who had started laughing again but also shouting at him to stop before starting to hit him back. They continued fighting and bickering like this for another minute before something repeatedly hit the side of the car on Hoseok’s side and was groaning and moaning. Hoseok was still facing Yoongi when he noticed the other’s eyes widen. “Zombie?” he asked, wishing the answer was no but the boy nodded his head in response. Hoseok sighed deeply and began turning to see the undead creature. Even though he knew it was there it didn’t stop him from jumping in his chair and letting out a slight squeal at the sight. He would never get over how gross they were, mangled up faces and bodies, ripped clothes, blood. Not to mention they smelled really bad, he hated everything about it. He just stared at it in disgust and asked Yoongi, “You're not gonna do something?” Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows together, “Why don’t you do something?” Hoseok turned around frantically to face him, “Because!” He started his tone full of annoyance. “That thing is on my side of the car! Do you want my face to get ripped off?!”
“Yes.”
“.....”
“.....”
“Just get rid of it oh my god!”
“Fine.”
Yoongi grabbed a baseball bat from the backseat and got out of the car, the zombie instantly starting to make its way around the car to him. He sighed and brought the bat up by his shoulder before swinging it as hard as he could at its head. Once on the ground he stood over it and brought the bat down onto the head once again to make sure it wasn’t going to get back up and attack them. He rolled his eyes, the same shit different day. Hoseok then got out of his side taking his crowbar and gun with him. He shut the car door and noticed that there was saliva and blood on the window, “Ew.” He sighed and brought his sleeve up to wipe it off, he then walked around to Yoongi for the sole purpose of wiping his sleeve on him. Yoongi retaliated by brushing the baseball bat across Hoseok’s chest, who started freaking out over the brain matter on his clothes. “Yoongi what the fuck that’s disgusting!” He pushed the bat out of his way with the crowbar only for Yoongi to hold it like a sword and start acting like he was about to duel with him. Hoseok started playing along using the crowbar as a sword too, the both of them almost forgetting what they were supposed to be doing in the first place.
In the middle of playing around Hoseok stood on the hood of the car making some speech about ‘killing’ Yoongi in his heroic duel of good against evil when something grabbed his ankle. He screeched and jumped away from what he was assuming was a zombie, he jumped off the car and ended up next to Yoongi. “You can deal with this one.” Yoongi mumbled leaning on the car as the zombie made its way around to them, Hoseok sighed and pulled out his gun and walked towards the creature. “Wait Hobi don’t use the-” Yoongi was cut off by the sound of the gun firing a bullet into the zombies head, the zombie fell to the ground and Hoseok turned around. “Gun...” they waited in silence for a sign if they had attracted any other zombies and after a few seconds sighed in relief that they didn’t get attacked by a hoard of them. Yoongi wasn’t very happy, he didn’t mind the fun and games with Hoseok as they couldn’t be serious all day everyday. That would be miserable. But he did admit to his friend and himself on a regular basis he ticked him off a lot, this was one of those moments. Hoseok saw the annoyed look on Yoongi’s face and whispered a small “Sorry.” to the boy. “I thought we agreed to only use guns if absolutely necessary? That shit can attract so many more. You did not need to use it, you have a crowbar for christ's sake!” He started getting more agitated with each word and Hoseok became concerned with the amount of noise he was making. He started looking around as the other boy ranted on in the background, making sure there was no danger on its way. Unfortunately for him he saw several zombies coming out of the entrance to the shopping centre that several turned into at least 16 as more started coming out and heading towards them. “Um Yoongi..” he watched them starting to speed up while Yoongi carried on. “Yoongi shut up and get in the car.” Hoseok started speeding to the other side of the car earning a confused “Huh?” “Get in the fucking car! idiot!” Yoongi then noticed the group that was now only about 8 foot in front of him, “Oh shit..” He rushed to the car and swung the door open, slamming it shut once inside and turning the key. As the hoard approached he struggled to get the car started. “C'mon you piece of shit.” he muttered turning the key over and over again.
“Can we please get moving Yoongi..”
“Can you not see I’m trying?”
“Try harder!”
“Fuck you.”
Zombies started surrounding the car as Yoongi managed to finally get the engine to start up. they were in front of the car, at the sides and the back trying to get in the car and attack. Hoseok brought his hand up to the side of his face, blocking out the zombies in the window. his veins filled with anxiety and adrenaline as per these situations. He had faced bigger hoards closer to the beginning of the breakout but each time he had the same reaction, it wasn’t really something anyone could get used to. Yoongi started driving, the car bumping up and down as he drove over bodies and zig zagged to get out of the mangled up walking dead. He managed to turn around and drive off in the direction they had come from.
“Well that was close..” Hoseok took a deep breath and sighed, slouching in the seat.
“Uh yeah and it was your fault.” Yoongi huffed.
“MY fault? Um no your fault you’re the one who started shouting for ages.” He started flailing his arms at himself and then at Yoongi before letting them drop in his lap. “Least we didn’t die.”
“Good point.”
They drove back to the house, pretty much in silence. They now had to make a trip to the next town over but it was already getting late, the sun had begun to set in the sky by the time they had got home and they weren’t prepared to do an overnight drive. The lack of light was dangerous and the lights on the car would only attract zombies. They had already experienced that before and it didn’t end well.
The other shopping centre was around a 45 minute drive, depending on how fast they drove and what obstacles they faced. They decided to have a good night's rest and to plan their trip in the morning. Once they got back they took their weapons and snacks out of the car and brought them into the house. Hoseok went straight to the kitchen to fix himself something to eat, the stress of fighting zombies made him hungry every time and he needed to replenish his energy. Yoongi on the other hand started lighting the candles around the living room where they would be chilling for a little bit before going to sleep. “You want any food?” Hoseok called out to Yoongi, “Um yeah anything will do.” Hoseok started looking at what they had available, it was mostly tinned stuff so he just decided to go with soup for the both of them and started cooking on his makeshift stove. Once done with the food Hoseok took it into the living room to see Yoongi had already opened a can of beer. “I thought that was for special occasions only?” He snickered lightly passing the other his bowl of soup. “Thanks and it is a special occasion, we are going on a little adventure tomorrow. So sit your butt down and drink with me.” Hoseok smiled and sat next to his friend on the couch who passed him his own can, he opened it and took a sip. He savoured the flavour as they didn’t have enough to drink as often as they’d like.
They sat quietly while finishing their soup and Yoongi took the dishes out into the kitchen once they had finished and when he came back into the living room him and Hoseok began chatting and drinking. They talked about life before the outbreak. Their friends and family they had lost, either to zombies or just not knowing their whereabouts or if they were alive or not. They recalled the moment they found out about the outbreak and what the virus was doing, the emotions they felt, the craziness of it all, how unbelievable it was to them. They did this often, they didn’t have much else to talk about most of the time, just thoughts about a time that was no more.
“What do you think we would be doing right now if all of this zombie stuff never happened?” Hoseok asked, he was slouching over the arm of the other couch. The both of them were on their third can of beer. “Well you would definitely be dancing.” Yoongi replied, “It's all you ever did, I doubt you would have stopped that.” Hoseok sat up and sighed smiling, reminiscing about his passion before the world went to shit. He nodded, agreeing with the boy across the room. “Yeah I probably would. I know what you would be doing.” He pointed his can at Yoongi who raised an eyebrow at him. “Oh really?” He lifted his can taking a sip as Hoseok nodded. “You would be in your studio, creating music, doing what you do best.” They both sighed. Yoongi would have done anything to be back in that studio. He was a producer a little over 7 months ago, working with artists to create the right song for them. He also used to rap himself a little, writing songs when he was bored and uploading them online it was only for fun though. Music was everything to him and it saddened him knowing that half the people he worked with were dead and the other half were probably zombies. He used to spend so much time in the studio he began calling it his second home. Hoseok always used to tell him it was unhealthy for him to spend so much time there but he never listened just shook his head and carried on working. Hoseok worked in a dance studio not far from Yoongi’s building, he was a choreographer and professional dance. They had known each other since they were kids and had grown up together. always rooting for each other to reach their dreams. Although Hoseok used to nag Yoongi about the amount of time he spent working he did the exact same. He basically lived in the dance studio, creating dances for his classes and for worldwide pop stars too. And similar to Yoongi he regularly created dances for himself, it was all he had ever wanted to do and did it whenever he could.
“Remember when you used to create music for me to dance to?”
“Uh yeah, not that I needed to.”
“Half of my choreographies depended on your work Yoongi, you needed to.”
"Hmmm."
Yoongi loved when they used to end up working together. A lot of the time it was a surprise to them when they found out they would be working with the same artist or group. Like one time the Taemin came to Yoongi for help with his new album, Yoongi was starstruck when it happened and was of course honoured that Taemin had picked him to help. He had text Hoseok not long after speaking with Taemin to tell him the news only for Hoseok to message back I load of nonsense, a keyboard smash to be exact. Hoseok then rang Yoongi to freak out and tell him Taemin had asked for his help on dances for his new album. The two of them were ecstatic to be working with each other. They loved it. Unfortunately those days were over for them but at least the memories remained.
"I wish we could go back…" Hoseok sighed, a numbness falling over him. Yoongi nodded in agreement, he knew how the other boy felt. When one day you're pursuing your dream and doing what you do best there's a different kind of sadness you feel when it's suddenly ripped away from you. Hoseok felt like there was a part of him missing, a hole in his heart. Everything he loved was now a thing of the past and by the looks of things it would stay in the past. Yoongi hated these conversations, he liked thinking about before the outbreak because he had a great life. He wouldn't change it for the world but then they start getting upset and the look on his best friends face kills him inside. It was getting to a point where the pain was becoming visible, Hoseok's smile fading and the way he stared blankly at nothing in particular. "Hey, if you could do anything with your life what would it be?" Yoongi asked, trying to lighten the mood. Hoseok looked at him and shrugged. "And I mean anything, as if laws and physics never existed." Hoseok then scrunched his face up in thought. "Honestly you might need to give me a few days for that one." He huffed still in thought.
"Okay, Okay. How about we go to bed? I'm hella tired and we have a busy day tomorrow."
"Oh I second that decision. I might pass out as soon as my head hits the pillow."
They blew out the candles one by one, Yoongi took the empty cans out to the kitchen while Hoseok made sure the door was barricaded, not that zombies could open doors but you never know anything could happen. They began making their way up the stairs, Yoongi placing boxes at the bottom creating a small wall, they were never too careful. If a zombie managed to make its way into the house while they slept it would keep them safe upstairs and would wake up if the boxes fell. Once at the top of the stairs they headed into their separate rooms, not before saying goodnight to each other first though.
Hoseok closed his door and instantly flopped onto the bed. He could've fell asleep right away but the heat in the room was too much. Even though it was night it was still warm, humid and stuffy. He removed his clothing until he was down to his underwear, it was a relief, he was cooler and could sleep comfortably. He laid down on the bed and twisted until he found a position he felt most comfortable in. After a few minutes he made himself jump back up, almost forgetting to tick off the day on his makeshift Calendar. He got back into bed and attempted to go to sleep.
Yoongi shut his door and sighed. Each day was getting harder to cope with. He took his time getting undressed, he was so exhausted. Once ready for bed he climbed in and found a spot that was perfect for him to sleep in although it didn't last long. Soon enough he was twisting and turning in hopes to find a better position without much success.
