li’s notes : Writing this part made me simp for Oikawa even more i’ll admit it okay I’m weak for this one man... also I may post a bonus part hehehe
After the long day you had, you decided to go home directly and not hanging out. As you were searching for your keys to open the front door, you heard a sudden chorus screaming “HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYY” which surprised you and made you jump. They all laughed to your reaction, and you relaxed when you saw the familiar faces of your teammates.
“Horny fangirl hey!” shouted Hanamaki to break the ice
You laughed and smiled looking and greeting them one by one, until you realize he wasn’t there. You bit your inferior lip. The deception of not seeing him made your smile disappear.
“You could smile, we came only for you. Our presence is annoying you ?” Makki added when he noticed how sad your eyes reflected
“Sorry im tired..” you lied. You only wanted to cry. But you didn’t have the right to, —at least that’s what you thought when you remembered the exact words you used to ask him to take his distances. So why would you feel sad now ?
Actually, the only person you wanted to see right now was that annoying brown haired captain.
“No you know what ? Let’s celebrate my birthday” you suddenly shouted and they followed you screaming and exhibiting the alcohol bottles they had in hands.
You heard the doorbell. Secretly hoping it was him, you went to open the door to face his perfect face. His look softened the minute he saw you.
“Yn-Chan, happy birthday” he said, his hands holding a white envelope with your name on it. You could recognize his writing which made you smile.
“What is it ?” You asked, curious. He opened his mouth obviously not knowing what to say “Uh i-it’s uhm.. well it’s uh.. WELL YOU’LL OPEN IT” he pinched his lips, looking away “sorry I’m a lil nervous”. A soft laugh came out of his pretty mouth and all you wanted to do was to press your lips against his.
“It’s okay Tooru, come in” you said opening the door to let him pass but he gulped, not moving. “I’m sorry yn, I haven’t planned to stay, I just came to make sure you get my letter and..” you interrupted him, frowning and looking into his chocolate eyes “a letter ? You wrote me a letter ?”
He closed his eyes as if he had just commit the worse mistake of his life. He sighed loudly “I don’t know how to keep secrets it isn’t new” he smiled and faces you again. You stayed here, standing without saying a word, only drowning in each other’s eyes.
“Anyways..” he broke the silence first; putting his hands into the pockets of his jacket “I think I’m stealing you to your invites sooo i’m gonna.. you know” he added showing the street with his head, indicating you he was leaving.
“Goodnight yn, have fun to your party” he only said before turning his back on you, going down the 3 stairs allowing the access to your house.
As you saw his back getting away you couldn’t help your legs to run after him.
“Tooru! Tooru wait!” You shouted in the streets. You saw him turning back to look at you with a face of incomprehension. Probably asking himself what was happening to that girl; That girl who told him to leave her alone and who was now chasing after him in the streets at night.
“Yes ? You have something to say ?” He only asked still frowning
You were still trying to take your breath because of the sprint you just made to catch him. You raised your head to face him, kinda breathless.
“Could we spend the night together ?”
Oikawa opened his mouth and frowned even more. He looked like an angel getting shocked by your request. You cackled when you capted the confusion on his pretty face.
“THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT YOU IDIOT!” You couldn’t stop laughing and it just felt good to let it all out after hours of questions and thinking.
He joined you and laughed even harder when he added “I’m sorry yn-Chan it was quite ambiguous coming from someone who litterally tweeted that I made her horny”. Normally you would have been mad because of his remark but right now it felt so good to laugh with him.
You missed this. You missed him. All you needed now was his attention.
“Tooru.” you stated and he only hummed, listening to what you were going to say
He looked at you. Eyes wide open. He was obviously not prepared to hear you say this. Deep down he could feel the joy make his heartbeats even faster.
“You’re sure ? I mean you got all the team to your house right now”
“Don’t make me change my mind Tooru.” You frowned and he smiled “fine I’m not saying anything!” he replied, holding his both hands up
“You can still tell me how beautiful I am tonight” you posed like a mannequin to go with it
He got closer to you, posed his warm hands on your cheeks colored in pink because of the cold wind hitting your face. “You are always beautiful”
He closed his eyes and leaned to press his soft lips against yours. You stayed here, not moving and giving him his kiss back. It wasn’t like the other day. This time it was full of the frustration you both accumulated these past few weeks. You were both freeing yourselves; finally exposing your love to the guys who were looking at you making out.
“Oii trashykawa you’re gross!” Iwa shouted first, soon joined by Makki who couldn’t stop teasing you
“Looks like he chose you yn! I’m a proud father, I truly am! My horny fangirl daughter... I’m emotional sorry” he mumbled pretending to cry
Oikawa took his eyes off them to focus on you and you did the same. They all got back into your house while you were both still standing on the streets. Your body shivered, it was so cold outside. A soft and sincere smile draw itself on his lips. He caressed your cheeks, making you grin.
“So ? Do you wanna go back in there ?” He asked, waiting patiently for your answer before making any move
“No. I want to go somewhere with you” you assured “if it’s okay for you of course..?”
“Anything you want yn-chan, today’s your day after all. How old are you now, thirty-three ?” He mocked you and you decided to give him the same. “Mhh does it makes you my young boy ? Come kiss mummy”
He jumped away from you as if you were suddenly burning him. His face was a mix of shock, vexation but mostly disgust. You both kept walking and you laughed so hard seeing he was staying to a distance of one meter while walking. “Come oooon it was a joke come back here I’m cold”
You kept on walking until a bench where you sat with him. You talked all night. Laughing, stargazing, sharing dreams, fears and everything. He opened his heart like never before. And you stayed here all night together, cuddling and hugging.
As the first sunlight was appearing he insisted to take a picture of you.
“You’re so pretty can I post it on Instagram ?” He asked with his soft eyes to whose you can’t say no so you agreed
“Thank you for my birthday Tooru, I appreciated a lot this moment with you”
He kissed you again. His arm wrapped around your shoulders to take you closer to him. He then faced you, with serious eyes and you already knew what was about to come out from his mouth.
You were ready for it. You knew the answer. And you could feel the butterflies, in your stomach. The ones they all talk about in love songs. It was love.
“So... are we together now ?”
