the history of ffc-acrush and the future of fanxyred
the group formerly known as ffc-acrush has recently undergone numerous changes in an effort to re-brand themselves. i will outline my (limited) knowledge these changes below with links/dates. please note that as of may 23, 2018 an official “explanation” from the group has yet to be posted, if one will be given at all.
march 24, 2017 - present: “akayoon”, the founder and performance director of TOV entertainment, posts about ffc-acrush on instagram. TOV entertainment is now the group’s new management company. akayoon appears to be korean and has done dance/idol training/instruction in china/south korea/usa.

march 24, 2017 and april 3, 2018 (both posts now deleted)
late april - early may, 2018: group members begin to change their instagram handles to include traditionally male names, plus their chinese names. these appear to be new stage names:
may 13, 2018: the group changes their twitter handle to “fanxyred”, and updates their logo to the one shown in the tweet below. the same was done for instagram. please note - the tagged location on the original instagram post (now deleted) was los angeles.
each individual group member also posts the same photo on their instagram accounts, with the message “NEW START #FANXYRED” and a hashtag of their new stage name.
it can therefore be assumed that ffc-acrush has officially changed their name to fanxyred, and that this is the first announcement post regarding this unexpected change. it is not yet clear how this group name is pronounced.
may 14-18, 2018: the official group twitters and instagram begin posting individual member photos, group positions/roles, and stage names. these photos are also posted by each member on their own instagram accounts. there appears to be only 5 members in fanxyred. please note min junqian formally left in december 2017, and feng yuxuan left in january 2018.
may 19, 2018: fanxyred on twitter makes an [Official Info] post that 1) addresses the fanbase as “diamonds” (which explains the diamond pictured in the group logo) and 2) urges fans to follow the official TOV entertainment social media pages.
they also post an unedited version of their original announcement photo from may 13, visibly showing all 5 official members.
may 21, 2018: a few of the members add to their instagram stories for the first time. i am unsure what as posted as i received the notifications on my phone, but was unable to check before the images disappeared.
tov entertainment also posts on instagram an exclusive image, with a message in korean that says something along the lines of the following (via google translate):
Official Instagram! We are starting to make a debut day by day with our girl group # Fancy Red’s # Suit Concept photo ^^.
as of may 13, 2018, ffc-acrush is now officially named fanxyred
based on tov entertainment’s post from may 21, 2018, it can be assumed that the pronunciation of this name is “fancy red”, although this may just be a translation error
there are only 5 members of this new group, with 2 former members leaving
this seems to have been in the works since march 2017, when the group made a splash in western media
the group now often writes messages in english, mandarin, and korean. this is most likely due to the management by tov. it is unclear what the primary language of their songs will be in
they are preparing for a debut at a currently unknown date
despite now having traditionally male stage names, tov still refers to them collectively as a “girl group” and “women’s team”. this follows past clarification on the members’ pronouns (via @acrush-trans)
they all seem super excited to start fresh! so please support this re-branding! :) stan fanxyred!
