A final display for my last assessment of this academic year.

Left side is the Limerick city project, right side is the Spanish Point workshop.

This display includes multiple forms of printing techniques and materials used:

For some reason some of the tutors didn't like my alternative coffee drink and even called it hazelnut bark, so I was thinking that it might be worth capturing it forever in a linocut form.

I tried to expand my abilities of colour mixing and layering. I need to figure out which color mix the best and how to work correctly with a thinning medium to make colors less opaque.

Cyanotype in progress during a workshop at Spanish Point.

I really enjoy the element of surprise with cyanotype technique. I used found objects and scraps from linocut I made to create five different cyanotype prints.

I would like to make a large scale cyanotype work during the summer.

From sketch to print. I made a quick sketch when having a lunch at the park across from our college.

Woodcut is done on plywood and took just about a half an hour to produce. I am quite happy with it, because it captures the mood of that calm afternoon for me.

This was an experiment with decal printing on glazed cups and plates.

First step, screen print the image on decal paper. Your ink is a mixture of oxides and medium. Let it dry

Second step, transfer the prints onto cups or whatever glazed ceramics you have/want to use. Let it dry.

Third step, fire it.

I like this small story with a pony and it's great to see the options of where it can get. So far paper, textiles and ceramics.

The first screen print.

My prints so far (roughly 70% of all work I've done on this project).

They're an exploration of techniques, mark making and dissolving the images. I am not going for a copy of what I see but a kind of blurred version of what I see. A deconstructed picture, something disappearing and corroding as the places I've visited. As how people there are left.

These are marks left on the newsprint during the printing process. I had both sides of the plate I led at some point and I like the these "go to waste" imprints as much as the actual prints.

Today I reused my plate and used the other side of it, since I put it in acid without butamen layer. I like the grain which the plate got after being exposed to the acid as a whole.

I also printed on the cotton paper which has much better results then the white card.

My first experience with etching. I was etching on the steel plate.

I tried to experiment with different kinds of application of coloured on the plate and wiping with white spirits.

There is a story behind this picture. My neighbor told me once that she likes to watch people with binoculars from her window and I found that idea quite interesting. See there she is watching people.

Little stories like this make life much more exciting!

Drypoint prints.

These are small floral prints which will be a part of series of multiple pieces creating one bigger piece of how I see a part of the city I live in.

Experimenting with background colour and flower prints.

Rolling over fresh plants didn't prove to be the be the best way of printing them. Classic woodblock press would probably work better.

The print with hands and flowers on the white background was made by placing inked leaves and flowers on the existing dried print of hands then the sheet was covered by cloth and rolled over with printing roll.

First proofs of my drypoint etching.

I made a couple of those wiping of the ink before each print to add shape.

These will be later printed over coloured background and flower prints go over them as a last layer.

Preparation for printing.

Our topic is home and for me home isn't a certain place,but body, mindset and activities more than anything.

Since I would do a lot of gardening anywhere I live and surround myself with plants of all kind. My topic will be plants and how they take over body and mind.
