But it’s true, many goths have been bullied and even killed for who they are but as soon as someone famous at the “normal” people like dresses even the slightest bit darker than normal, they look up to them, call them beautiful or brave or whatever for dressing different. As soon as that moment ends though they go back to being an asshole to goths.

IIRC, attacking someone for being a member of a subculture is actually considered a hate crime in the UK because of how severe the attacks on goths/other alternative people were becoming? But let’s be 100% honest here: This is still only a tiny sliver of what POC experience. What we go through just because we’re different (which yes, we can control but to attack people for something like this is still WRONG) is nowhere NEAR what POC go through. We don’t face institutionalized discrimination the way that they do. However yeah – don’t do that whole “LOL GOTHS AREN’T KILLED FOR WEARING BLACK” bullshit because no, they have been. People have been violently attacked and bullied and I’m sure that the links above are only a little bit of what’s happened.
