Oh my dearest Eleanor! How much i miss you and every time I think of my time in Berkeley, you are such an important part of my experience. It is amazing that within a span of a few days, you became so close and an extremely loving friend. Berkeley was great, but your presence and your company made the time exponentially greater and joyous. I miss our numerous conversations that ranged from world politics, to the crafting of beer. With the current political rhetoric revolving around the United States, I cannot help but ponder about why are women looked at as commodities? What is it about our nature that men are so threatened about? Are we that powerful that you have to beat us down like we don’t deserve the rights to be human? 

You have penis for God’s sake. We have a vagina through which other human beings come out. HUMAN BEINGS. I’m not here undermining the sexual organ and neither am I stating that this is the only reason why women should be respected. But just questioning about some of your curiosity about the world. How do people not get baffled by how nature works? I mean, why does the curiosity have to lead to some power-mongering shit. 

My body goes numb thinking of how first off, Trump could even say what he said and later deny it. I mean do I laugh? Unfortunately he is not an uncommon case. Within my friends circle, I can pinpoint male friends who perceive women as sexual objects or use their existence as a form of their creativity to be ignited. Women are not here for the sake of your entertainment. We are not your toys.

~ Was walking towards the metro station when there happened to be a stalls from eastern market for the day. There was a stall down the line and the za'atar bread caught my eye! This was I think my most exciting moment since I've been to D.C.!!! I finally tasted za'atar bread after 4 years. Glitches

As I sit in the corner of the world, I sway along the rhythm of the wind until the dashing sound of a car slashes through. 

I worry about the world, I worry about people, I worry about the loved ones. I cry the tears that the earth is shedding and I feel the ground shatter beneath my feet. 

We have this civilization, and we have these technologies. We have lives that are being destroyed while other make money out of human lives. We have people desiring to do good in the world, and we have people who put a barrier in doing so. 

Is power and money beyond the existence of love and peace? I understand that there will always be the rich and the poor, the white and the non-white, but why does that lead to loss of lives? Why do people find ways to deceive each other? 

Love and peace, that is what we should be fighting for. Not money, power or status.
