I'M BACK FROM THE AIRPORT YAYYYYY!! I have so many new comic ideas I started drawing the SECOND I got back. Of course I had to warm up by drawing the girls. I think this is my first time drawing Big Mama, Kendra, Karai, AND Sunita?? Why has it taken me this long? Also I think April's glasses are the same color as Casey's eyeliner? Just something cute I noticed :)

Some more doodles of Tilly and the boys before I go to the airport. I've been trying to get better at colors but they're so hard X[ I basically just color picked from the reference sheets and overlayed a green tone I liked. Also water is hard to draw.

Babie au lore below !!!! (Mostly just family dynamics)

I feel like Leo would rarely watch her, and only if he could do so hands free. He'd only see her for an hour a day at most, and almost exclusively while she's asleep. He'd be too busy in my au to help watch her, but that'll change soon...

Donnie would be fine with her up until she exhibited any typical baby behavior, then he'd give her right back to Mikey. He'd draw a very hard line at handling any "icky" baby stuff and would probably just keep her supervised in a bouncer if he absolutely had to watch her. His lab would be too dangerous for a baby to be in anyway.

Raph would definitely be the most available for baby sitting, but Mikey would never make him watch her for more than a couple hours. In my au, Raph basically never goes out on missions. He's a trainer and leads scavenging groups, but he's not the only one who fills that role, so he'd have the most free time out of the three of them. Plus, he'd be very gentle and attentive with her.

I feel like she'd be a perfect angel for everyone except Mikey and Donnie.

Mikey would obviously be with her the most. He'd have a lot of parental anxiety, but also want her to have the freedom to explore the consequences of her actions. He'd struggle between being passive and authoritarian, but eventually he'd grow into an authoritative parenting style.

Also, you know how sometimes babies or toddlers will act like, y'know, babies? But the second their parent comes around they're like, fully conscious? Like being silly and copying and doing seemingly random things one second, then their parent walks in and they're asking questions or forming full on sentences with connected thoughts and observations??? Exhibiting motor skills you didn't even know they had up until that point? Yeah, I think she'd be like that. Or at least Mikey would pick up on her communication and whatnot more so than others.

Oh also, please look at this reference photo for the bottom right drawing. I've had this saved for years purely because of this man's expression. Literally makes me crack up every time I see it. I will never be able to capture this level of distress in a drawing ever.

I crave writing more lore but I didn't bring my computer with me so I'll have to wait til I get back >:( also hopefully more doodles before school starts back up

made a post about the horror potential of mutation in tmnt and now ive thought some and lets talk about the horror of mutation in the character of Todd You may be asking "Doodles wtf you talking about, TODD??" and yes my friend. The horror of Todd's mutation. Stay with me

In the episode Repo Mantis, where he is introduced, Repo describes him as "a real shady mutant. …Holes up in the woods, on the wrong side of the tracks, in the darkest outskirts of the bad part of town."

Later, Donnie says "I ran a profile on this guy. Lawless loner, doesn’t pay his bills, lives in this very spooky forest. He is a ninety-eight percent match for the Spine-Breaking Bandit!"

Furthermore, in Evil League Of Mutants, Huggin describes Todd as "Trust me, he’s as bad as they come"

Now. The Spine-Breaking Bandit is not exactly a reocurring concept, but it IS introduced a few episodes earlier in Origami Tsunami, but to my memory its not mentioned again in the show. This may just be a gag or a joke, building up Todd to be an oh scary mutant and then he's chill and sweet haha funny joke nothing to make of it

...or is it?

Repo could've known Todd before he mutated. And Donnie says he's a 98% match for the Spine-Breaking Bandit. Todd doesnt ACT like an evil shady dangerous guy, but we're missing one fact: Todd's mutant power

Todd's mutant power is Niceness. We see this Nothing But Truffle when Meatsweats absorbs Todd's power and he Becomes Nice against his will. This has effect for several hours; not the entire duration of the episode, after a while Meat Sweats starts faking it, but at the start it was genuine. Meat Sweats had no control over his "niceness" and was forced to act nice and kind to Mikey against his will

Can we talk about how horrible that is?? Thats Horror. Thats straight up horror. Your mind is overtaken and youre forced to act in ways you never would against your will, fraternizing with your enemy? Meat Sweats was concious that this was happening, conciously decided to keep doing it, so he was probably aware of the way this was influencing him. He didnt Want It, at first at least. Thats horror! Loss of personhood, loss of agency, loss of autonomy- horror typical concept!

And now lets apply this to Todd. Three characters refer to Todd as bad, shady, mean... he doesnt Act Like That in the show... but what if he WAS like that? What if he WAS the Spine-Breaking Bandit before he got mutated and was simply at the mercy of his newly adquired mutant powers? Meat Sweats wasnt in control, he did NOT act like himself under the influence of Todd's mutant power, who's to say Todd isn't a victim of himself as well?

That's another scary part... the fact he's a "better person" now. I love posession as a horror trope where the possesed character becomes "better". They improve as a person, either being nicer or friendlier or getting their life together and the people around them refuse to see something is wrong because they asume the victim just locked in and genuienly changed for the better. They turn a blind eye and refuse to help because this is "for the better". The absolute isolation, lonelyness, betrayal, violation that comes with that specific type of posession. Its so interesting. And we could argue Todd is subject to it. He changed "for the better", he became "nice", but at what cost? Do you think he's still in there? The old him? How do you think he was. How do you think he Is.

So much horror potential. You have everything; body horror, psychological horror, kinda supernatural horror, posession horror. So much Horror

I retract my tags from my reblog on my other blog, him being for realsies evil is so cool to me. Made some doodles based off this post, mostly just how I think he would look as a human and some ominous vibes.

I feel like if there ever was an "un-mutating the villains" arc, they'd probably go with Todd first since he's not technically a villain. I just think it would be funny for them to un-mutate him, expecting him to be grateful or whatever, but it turns out he was super evil the whole time and having to deal with the consequences lol.

I think this is entirely why the villains are my favorite characters in rise. They say your heroes are only as good as your villains and that is so true for this show. I had literally never thought of Todd from this angle but now that I have it sounds so horrifying.

Who I have thought of, however, is Hypno. There's a line he says in Stuck On You, "With the power of the first witch, I'll be able to resurrect Doug." This is the line that recontextualized the entire show for me. This man not only lost his best friend, but is experiencing the body horror of living in this shared flesh chamber fusion of the two of them. Like, imagine if you just became your dog, or cat, or whatever.

I feel like all the villians are lowkey justified in going a little crazy cuz, and it can not be stated enough, they are just guys who had jobs. Sure, some narcissism and possible cruelty were part of their personalities before they became mutants, but like, idk man, if I woke up as a worm I'd probably go apeshit too. I wanna take some notes and go really in depth into all the villains someday because they truly are my faves.

A teeny comic about baby Tilly!!! She's the first of the girls in my au, so I've been fleshing out her lore first. I said in my other post, but she's Mikey's daughter, I think she'd be born when he's around 23-24? Plot wise, this would take place about a month after Mikey is informed she exists lol. They would have kept her in Donnie's lab to keep close tabs on her vitals and to have easy immediate access to any tools they'd need to keep her healthy. She would definitely hatch much earlier than they would have predicted, so keeping her around a plethora of tech would turn out to be the correct choice lol.

She's so cutie baby I love her so much. I'll def draw more of her and maybe fix up and post my fic I've been working on.

wip wednesday cuz I cant finish this teeny tiny comic for the life of me. I love this panel so much and the rest just does not look as good to me, I'll probs have to just finish it tomorrow night.

Anyway, I absolutely had to draw some more of my kind of au??? with Mikey and Tilly. I lorb them so much and all I have of them is one singular drabble. I need to figure out how to shade textured hair so bad, but I like the hairstyle I gave Mikey overall.

I'm writing a rise fanfiction in which I needed Warren and Hypno to help the turtles and one of my first ideas for them becoming not evil is that they straight up didn't know the turtles were teenagers and when they find out they're like "well, obviously we can't fight kids, that's objectively bad" so they just stop being evil, or at the very least stop fighting the boys. I ended up going with a diff idea but I still really loved this concept so now it's a lil comic.

Also, forgive the weird cropping on the third panel, I could not for the life of me figure out how to draw their legs so I just hid them lol. I straight up didn't even try to draw Raph's after failing Leo's and Mikey's.

I'm also trying to figure out how I want to draw the boys. I really love the little doodly style I did for the last panels, maybe I'll just draw them like that.

Poor baby, Kindergarten is hard :(

I feel like April would 100% be a dinosaur kid, and I think she'd like apatosaurus' specifically, hence the apatosaurus skull on the shirt. I also feel like she would have met the boys wayyyyy early on and bond over dinosaurs. Anyway, I really like the style I used for this, my fave is the top right one. Also, drawing Donnie in profile was too hard so I just put a hoodie over him lol. I might redraw her in the top left, it just doesn't look as good as the other two to me. Also probably make the skull a little more clear.

Do I have work at 9 am? Yes. Did I stay up to finish this and now only have 5 hours of sleep to run on even though I could have just waited til after work? Yes. Am I gonna hate myself all day at work yet still do this same exact thing all over again? Yuuuuup.

I miss my very confused boy. Trying to learn how to draw anatomy better cuz I can't just keep drawing headshots. I feel like he would put on some weight after the apocalypse and I really wanna draw that lol. ALSO I finally found a ballpoint pen in csp that I like, plus refound hashbrown brush

A very specific trope I like is when there are two rival characters, but one of them accidentally starts falling for the other, so suddenly there's both a one-sided crush and one-sided rivalry and the whole dynamic is thrown off ashwijeofjwoij it's just so fun to me. I just think Casey "can't control her emotions for shit" Jones would 100% fall first and not even have the ability to hide it. Sudden compliance from someone who once exhibited constant opposition seemingly out of nowhere is just top tier for me.
