please expand on the club penguin lore i don't understand anything and im dying to learn more đ«¶đ«¶đ«¶đ«¶
HEHEHE okay i might be wrong on some things but
so first .. it was a game that ran from 2005-2017, getting purchased by disney at some point, turned into a mobile game (club penguin island), and then finally dying off, but like so many nostalgic online games, have been remade by fans and turned into new servers. i personally have only played journey out of the fanmade servers, so i can only talk about that one and whatever new lore those mods have decided to add in :)
as a foundation though, the lore is built upon whatever character canon was established in the original game! and like the original (apparently. i did not know this as a kid lmao), they set up mascot visits, where the mods will play as one of these npcs and interact with the players!!
aside from all these mascots though, itâs just a silly online game to chat with people hehe.
these mascots are:
aunt arctic: the writer (and editor?) of the monthly newspaper! and the barbie of penguin isle really. sheâs out there trying and doing everything in order to write a good piece!! she is also secretly the director of the psa (penguin secret agency) iirc
gary the gadget guy: also known as âGâ. an inventor for the psa, and right below the director i believe in terms of rank? he loves working on his inventions. im sure heâs 90% coffee. very sweet guy
jet pack guy: or JPG. his ass didnât get a real name!! another agent of the psa, and your typical stone-faced, serious character. i donât recall him ever being mean though, heâs just very focused on the task at hand lmao. often shipped with rookie
rookie: yet another agent of the psa!! and the newest! he messes up a lot, and our missions with him usually include cleaning up his mistakes lol. but he tries his best!
dot: admittedly I donât know tooo much about her. sheâs part of the epf (elite penguin force), I think a branch of the psa that was introduced after the psa hq um. got destroyed by a bunch of popcorn. her main thing is disguises, and loves fashion!!
herbert p bear: he got stranded on an iceberg and landed on penguin isle. he haaates the cold and wants to turn penguin isle into a warm paradise for himself. heâs also a vegetarian. while the psa missions start off with more random tasks for penguins on the isle, they start to revolve around herbert once we find polar bear fur and start to track down who it belongs to. heâs the reason the hq got destroyed by popcorn lmao. he grew a cornfield i think, and i forget why. but remember this okay itâll come up one more time.
klutzy: herbertâs sidekick. heâs just a little crab, he doesnât talk. also accidentally messes up herbertâs inventions sometimes lol.
outside of the psa we have:
PH: the puffle handler! i also donât know too much about her, I donât remember her from the og game :(. sheâs like one of those steve irwin parodies though lol, our resident australian animal handler.
rory: a construction worker who helps set up and clean in between game events!!
rockhopper: a pirate who visits the isle maybe a few times every year! sometimes shipped with gary because (??) of his duo meetup with him during last yearâs halloween event
sensei: he trains us to become ninjas in card-jitsu!! which is just a rock paper scissors minigame but itâs with cards and itâs snow fire water. after getting a black belt in that, you can become a fire ninja, and then a water ninja after that? i donât remember how those games were played though.
tourdude: i donât know much about him either. youâre able to become a tour guide in the game, im assuming he Was in charge of that. was. because he wandered into the cornfield like two years ago in cpj lore and we literally have not heard from him since LMFAO. when you ask the other mascots, they donât offer up much information about it. weâre assuming itâs all leading up to a brand new mission someday!!
dj cadence: genuinely one of the most iconic characters. sheâs the dj at the dance club and had a few official songs from disney. she also has her penguin band, whose names i forget ⊠petey k, stompinâ bob, umm. two others. sheâs soooo cutie patootie i love her!!! see her pink!!!
dj maxx: MY FAVORITE!! SEE HIM ANNOYING!!! he was NOT part of the original mascot lineup! his appearance was back in the early version of the game, penguin chat 3, where he was the dj at the dance club! from my understanding, he was not recognized as a mascot at all until these rewritten servers, so his lore varies a lot between them! in cpj, heâs seen hanging out with cadence and sensei mainly. i like to think he lived on the isle but moved away as a baby or something, and is just now recently moving back.
i dont have any screenshots you will just need to trust me about maxx talking about always hanging out with sensei and not finishing his training during mascot meets
