It is with the heaviest of hearts that I inform you that Nai/Kae passed away today. She gave me final access to her tumblr about a month ago and she asked me to let folks know. I’ll be leaving this page up for those who wish to look through and remember her.

I love you, Kae. My heart’s in a million pieces right now and just about the only thing that comforts me is to know that you aren’t suffering anymore. I would write more, but I can barely see through my tears, sorry.

i will write something more coherent when it’s not 3:30 in the morning and i’m not crying but it was pointed out that @mephedup had not come online in a few days. i googled his name and learned that on the 8th, he was struck by a young driver and is no longer with us. i know a lot of his friends and guild mates follow me and i don’t know how to offer any sort of closure on this because i’m still coming to grips with it but i would like to ensure those close to him are aware and not left wondering

While I'm deeply mourning his passing, I have to still smile 'cause I got one more 'Fite me' out of him before he was gone. I'll always love you Mephykins. I'll see you again in that big battleground in the sky, I hope.

Also case in point is how like, half the lines your combat allies/bodyguards saying that you all stand together, fight as one, etc

honestly this is accurate, edgy DKs are out, cool undead friends who just happen to be murderous killing machines are in.

they have a special friendship clubhouse where they hang out and also lament darion mograine’s poor coping skills

don’t get me wrong: I have seen the cruel, heartless killing machine done interestingly, because people who play those dudes & have a reasonable idea about their limitations & don’t mind losing can make fantastic villains and plot drivers.

but death knights who’re allowed to struggle with their emotions and all that they’ve lost, that have to deal with that need for connection with others while being something most of the world hates & reviles, are vastly more interesting as characters 99% of the time. that’s what I’ve always loved about RPing a death knight who has Way Too Many emotions–but looks at the emotionless killing machine held up as the Scourge ideal and goes “why can’t I be that, even though it’s horrible”.

One of my favorite chibis ever. Based on an actual raid night… Doing ICC25 when it was actually a challenge and it kinna devolved into people just stripping and running in to see who could survive the longest until all the trash respawned and we had to leave. That’s literally the gear we were wearing that night.
