APPEARANCE
Kaela’s style is a charming blend of laid-back comfort and quirky individuality. Her glasses, slightly askew, add a touch of endearing imperfection. Her hair, often in playful, loose curls or a messy bun, complements her effortlessly casual vibe. She gravitates towards oversized hoodies that envelop her in cozy warmth, and her sneakers, worn but well-loved, carry her through her daily adventures. Her wardrobe is a canvas of casual cool: big jeans with a high-waisted fit, paired with graphic tees that boast whimsical designs or witty slogans. BIOGRAPHY
tw: suicidal ideation, underage drinking & drug use
Kaela was born to a small family of three in Atlanta, Georgia. To most, they appeared like a normal human family except for the fact that they had to keep little Kaela hidden from the world until she could shift into her human form. There were some close friends that knew they were dragons but beyond them, they pretended to be human. It was hard for the young girl to hide her identity. She had trouble making friends so she usually kept her head in books. Those were her friends until she met a young shapeshifter who moved into her neighborhood when she was seven.
"Keep the ones that heard you when you never said a word."
The two were bonded at the hip. They'd do everything together. They were inseparable. You couldn't find one without the other. The two went on like that for years until her neighbor's family said they were moving. It broke Kaela's heart to lose her best and only friend. She was just starting high school, her brother had moved out and was scared to navigate the halls alone. She started acting out, hanging out with the wrong crowd and even dyed her hair a fiery pink. She started using drugs and drinking; all so she could feel like she wasn't alone.
“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”
When her parents found out about the drinking and the drug use, they sent Kaela to a mental hospital where she got down to the root of her problems. She felt like she didn't matter nor that she deserved love. Her parents worked all the time and were never home. Her brother moved to a new city and she had no friends. Sometimes she wanted to die. She felt so utterly alone that it felt like she didn't belong. It wasn't until she met another girl who went to her high school at the mental hospital and the two bonded over their loneliness that she started to feel better about herself. They became good friends and stayed friends when they were discharged.
"I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light."
Kaela went back to school with a friend and it felt good to have someone in her corner. She graduated high school with honors and picked up a habit of smoking weed. When she turned eighteen, she knew it was time that she left home. She transformed into her dragon form and flew to a town she heard of had people just like her. She flew to Northknot. She got herself an apartment near the college that she hadn't decided whether she wanted to attend and got a job at a bookstore nearby. After being in the city for a few months, Kaela had found herself in a niche little friend group. She hadn't met any other dragons yet but it felt good that she didn't have to hide who she was anymore. Now that Kaela's been in town for two years, she's made more connections and started her studies at Northknot University.
