Indie horror games

To those who have been on my blog, know how much I love to play horror games. So, today- I decided to talk about some of the indie games that I played before and recently. From what I know, not everyone knows about these indie games since games like Resident Evil and House of Ashes are more well known, but one thing is for sure. Some of the indie games are also good like the top-played games.

Project Kat

The first game that I will bring is, Project Kat. I played it back in 2020 if I am not mistaken. Having a goldfish brain is not fun at all, I tell you. And I decided to play it again recently because of their new update.

Game description

Project Kat is a short, unconventional RPG horror game in which there is always another way. Solve puzzles, make friends (or not), and guide Kat as she attempts to uncover the mystery behind a strange golden letter.

Even if the story is still the same as the previous update but I love how they changed the user interface, added some out of context features and especially the mini-game. Oh, I really like that update. Honestly, I can't wait for their Chapter 1 and of course another shameless advert. I did play it on my stream.

The Baby In Yellow

Game description

As a babysitter you have to deal with some unruly children. This one might be your last....How long will you stay in control?

Answer me, if you are to be offered $500 bucks to babysit a baby at night while the parents are out for a dinner date and the baby is not a normal baby- Instead, it's a demon baby. Would you take the job?

Me? Oh, I would NOT! I mean, yeah- I do like horror games but not horror in real life! It may look like the house is haunted but I tell you now. It's not the house. Yes, it's the baby. ヽ((◎д◎　))ゝ

Nonetheless, this game is fun to play with your friends around. Watching you trying not to wet yourself, that is. ಥ-ಥ

The latest update, version 1.3, have Halloween content in it. So, as usual, I may or may not going to play this game again just to see what's new.

My rate? Uhh, I think 6/10 because the baby was difficult to babysit.

The Mortuary Assistant

Game description

Having completed your degree in mortuary sciences, you have taken on an apprenticeship at River Fields Mortuary. Over the past several months you have logged many hours aiding the Mortician in daily tasks along with learning the ins and outs of the embalming process as well as how to properly handle and care for the deceased.

Over your time at River Fields, you have heard rumors of families bringing their deceased loved ones believed to be possessed or otherwise entangled with the paranormal to this specific mortuary to put to rest. But, with such a stigma around death and what happens when we die, it’s no surprise people make up stories around the dead.

Late one night, you are called into work to handle some embalmings. Death doesn’t keep day time hours. But there is something different about these bodies because there is something different about you. The phone rings with the Mortician on the other end. The rumors are true, and you can not leave.

Perform embalmings, handle the various jobs around the mortuary, and exercise demonic forces. All in a day’s work.

All I can say about this game is- It's creepy in a fun way. I am not sure about you guys who are not good with horror games, but I am sure my friend Park will cuss the hell out of me. LMAO.

To summarise this game, you as the player is working as a mortuary assistant. Right, as the title of the game. Having a night shift is never a piece of good news when you are working with dead people's bodies. Especially, when you are alone and alive. Get it?

Now come to my rate? 6/10. That was my old rate, not sure about the latest update one. It may change for sure.

Obusite

Game description

Obusite will take you on a thrilling adventure. As a misguided little child, sneak your way through this out of time place and flee from its occupant. He's not what he seems and will do anything to keep you in those walls.

Do you know Little Nightmare? And you wanted to play it but you are a broke student as I am? Then, this game is for us. I have not yet to play this game. Just found it today honestly. Might play it on stream this weekend to celebrate my little Halloween's party.

So far the rating is 5 stars. Not bad for a game that was just released or published 21 days ago.

My scardycat friend is not scared of horror game now??!!

We always do have that one friend who's scared of horror either in movies or games, you named it. Before I start to blabber anything, we shall name this friend of mine as Park and to add on, he is a fan of a character, The Creator, in this horror game he was forced to play cough; Little Hope.

So I- As a good friend, bought one of the latest released horror games on Steam as Park's advanced birthday's gift. That is House of Ashes, the continuation game series for the Little Hope.

First of all, I was sceptical when he said, "This game is not that scary as the Little Hope." Like, dude are you sure about that? And indeed it was not that scary throughout the whole gameplay. Oh, did I mention that he played it in one sit? Yes, he did. For someone who's scared of horror and ghost, he was actually doing well and for a minute there- I am proud of him.

I will be talking lots of spoilers from here on. So, if you don't mind spoilers. You are more than welcome to continue reading.

So, when I said- I guess, we said. It was not that scary. I do mean it, it was not that scary as Little Hope or their first series, Man of Medan. There were no ghosts alike figures and a few jumps scares here and there.

I think what makes it a good game is that the storyline and plot of the game. That was what made us finish playing the game in one sit. (I was there watching him playing on Discord) and if you are a fan of a game like Uncharted. I am sure you will love this game as much as I and Park do.

Oh and of course, who doesn't like a love drama in a movie? There's some in this game too! I am not sure how having a break with your husband or wife works. I mean you guys already married?? And yeah, not going to judge them but I am sure there are ways to make it work again. But you know, just to spice up the storyline- They made the wife cheat on the husband and that only took her a month. Hmm.

The plot twist at the end was kind of confusing to me or perhaps I was not focusing on the gameplay since I was doing my art assignment at the same time. ORZ. I was 100% sure and confident the entity that they were fighting with is a vampire. But ended up, it was some entity that came from outer space. There is no detailed narration on it as they just showed a cut scene which made me question everything.

Nonetheless, I give this game 4.5 out of 5 and I would love to play the game on my own. Well, once I have the money to buy it of course.

Do give it a try, well that if you are not scared of vampires and aliens.

Japan + Babies + Personal Shopper

Today I will be talking about one of the Instagram accounts that I love. Why? Because she lives in Japan, her cute children and she is a nice seller. Not only that, she is one of the personal shoppers I go to when I want to buy something in Japan.

I found her on Twitter at first and starting to follow her because I was into making bentos or what we normally called lunch boxes. Not gonna lie, all of the lunch boxes she made for her child are mouthwatering and how I wish she was my mom. (´∀｀；) Sorry mom, I do still love you though!

Yes, there are other proxy services in Japan such as Buyee, ZenMarket or From Japan but why a personal shopper? When I compare the prices it wasn't that far off from each other but the reason why I want her service is because I want to support her to raise her children. Especially she just gave birth to her youngest child.

The other day I bought the Yoasobi Uniqlo UT from her as I am a big fan of Yoasobi too. Not only you can buy Uniqlo things from her. She can buy Starbucks merch too and I am actually tempted to get the Halloween edition. (But wallet says no, SOBS)

Now that Brunei also selling it, I have no worries about not getting one. BUT I should be worried that it will be out of stock soon. (ಥ_ಥ)

If you want a personal shopper, I do suggest her. The only problem is for you to transfer your money as she uses a Maybank only and no PayPal. You can use a third-party service to do it for you. As for me, I asked my aunt's sister to do it since she has a Malaysian bank.

So far, as I know, she can only provide her service to Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. I am not sure about other countries but you can try asking her.

But if you are into lunch boxes, yes- I do recommend her too. UwU I just wish I can make mine as good as her once all these semi-lockdown is lifted.

New Monster Hunter series?

The first time I got introduced to a Monster Hunter series was back in 2016 by my cousin. It was the XL series on the 3DS platform. I wasn't that interested during that time. Just I bought and play it for the sake of having a fun time with her. I would like to add, she was the reason why I am into Japanese culture.

And last year, I have been introduced again by a friend of mine to play Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Yes, as before I only bought them because I want to spend more time with my friends and will only play them when I have some times to spare for games.

But lately, ever since hearing that the Monster Hunter Rise series will be released on PC and Monster Hunter Sunbreak on Switch ANNNNDD PC. I AM SO into the game!!! Of course, after getting lectured by my friends, getting dragged into the MHR Demo while getting 3 carted for million times (PAIN MAN PAIN) and learning how to use a long sword in MHW. After knowing all the basics and managed to pull off some counter moves. It was satisfying to kill these beautiful monsters.

I really do miss out on a lot of fun when playing the game before this. I mean I won't blame my cousin for it since I never asked how to properly play it. Plus I play for a different kind of fun.

Nowadays, I am always on MHW trying to grind my levels and learning a few things so I won't get nagged at by my friends. OTL. I won't say I am good at this game but I do start to like it. Might as well get the PC version for MH Rise soon. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

Genius or Born talent?

I am super excited to know that one of my favourite Japanese drama series will have a new season this year! I have been watching lots of medical-related movies and dramas since I was in primary school. It was also due to having Asian parents where they want to have their child work as a doctor. (;￣ー￣川

I have been following this drama series since last year. Brunei's first covid wave made me got nothing else to do. Therefore, the drama marathon it was. The drama that I am talking about is Doctor X.

All seasons that I have had watched always made me think if this doctor is real in real life. Perhaps people with cancers can be saved and have a longer life span. Even if her work ethics are a pain to get used to but she saved people lives and that is what she cares about. Corruption? What is that?

Daimon Michiko, the name of the so-called genius doctor in this drama. She is what you can call a genius with beauty. There are times I feel like she makes everything seems easy because I know that studying to be a doctor is not an easy one.

Though I am no medical student, learning some extra information is something that I like to do during my free time. Plus to get to see how things work in the surgery room is fascinating for me to watch.

I am not sure if any of you will agree with this but I learn more from these dramas than I was in my biology class. (；´∀｀) I remember so well when I was struggling to memorise some medical terms for my O'Level exam by reading notes but I can easily do it while watching a Korean drama, Good Doctor. How I wish I can have Michiko's brain during that time too. But the short story, I managed to score my biology paper thanks to these dramas and a long night of studying.

If you like to watch a medical field drama, I suggest you start watching this series from the 1st season. My rate? 9/10. I have not yet watched the new season but I can't wait to do so. (❁´◡`❁)

Am I the Horror or am I not?

Tiny Bunny on Steam

Tiny Bunny is a non-linear horror visual novel. Those, who have heard the voice of the forest, are beyond help.

I still remember one of my friends suggested me to play this game last year and it was still in the demo version. My first impression of this game was that, is this a horror game? Because the title itself does not sound like one, not until you see the image and trailer of the game.

And of course! What I've experienced in the demo won't be 100% the same as in the released version. What I can say is, there's more spice of jump scares in it. Including the 2nd episode.

There are lots of plot twistable moments in the story and the reason why I put the title of this post like that. Is that, I and my friend got confused. We thought that the main character, Anton, will be haunted by a ghost or something but the further we go into the game. It shows us more interesting stories.

If you don't mind spoilers, then feel free to continue reading. If not, it's up to you to decide.

As I said, those interesting stories lead us to lots of theories about the MC and a certain Fox Girl. We also joked around, that this game is not a horror game but an otome game.

The game for now only have 2 episodes and now we will have to wait for another 'year', as my friend said. (another joke of him, lmao)

If you're into a visual novel and horror game, I do recommend you this game. From the art to sound, I rate it 10/10.

It's October!!! (˼●̙̂ ̟ ̟̎ ̟ ̘●̂˻)

As someone who loves horror games and plays them. Of course! October is one of my favourites months. There are lots of horror games coming soon this month and in 2022.

Here I will be talking about some of the games that I'm looking forward to playing.

1. The Outlast Trials

Outlast II was an amazing experience, though I have not yet play Outlast I. But watching this trailer, I just cannot wait for it to be released. They said we can play it solo or co-op with friends. That! That is what I want from Outlast!

3. Sons of the Forest

Although I haven't yet finished The Forest. This game is just the continuation of the game. Playing with friends and having some chaos to steam off some stress from doing those piles of assignments won't hurt by playing this. ☆⌒(≧▽​° )

4. Dark Pictures: House of Ashes

Lastly, House of Ashes. I have not yet to play the first two games of this series but I do like to watch my friends playing them and yes. I cannot wait to watch my friend playing this game too. Why I do not play it myself? That's because watching someone scared of horror games, as your friend, is more interesting to do. ☆⌒(ゝ。∂)

Korean traditional games turned into burtal? Pt. 2

Continuing from my previous post. By this time everyone is getting hyped by the drama. (・∀・) There are memes about it here and there. It was fun to look at. Especially the one that they relate to their country traditional's games.

Here's one of my favourite ones;

Honestly, I thought this was an original press released for the second season until I read the comments. (－ω－) zzZ

Alright. So, I will be talking about some points in the drama that made me frustrated when watching it. I know it is a drama and anything can be ignored. Whatever the tricks have done will works.

But not for me. As I like to be logical when it comes to things that are supposed to happen in real life. Just one thing! One thing!

The police officer and the security of the game's location. I mean, come on. Who on earth cannot noticed if there's a car following them in the middle of the night. An empty street. A distance of less than- What? 15 meters apart? Just who cannot notice it?

Just why this police officer can infiltrate the place? Okay, I know I said one thing but let me add another one. The security of the location. Like, come on. You guys are supposed to be more serious and have tight security. If you guys can delete the phone number of the game hotline when it was leaked, why can't you guys even notice this one police officer?

Right. Perhaps he was a professional one but still?? Hello? Pink square, triangle and circle men??

At this point, I may sound very nonsense. LMAO.

Though after knowing other third parties have infiltrated the place to do illegal activity. So, that's to be expected.

Rethinking about my ranking for this drama again, maybe I should rate it as 7.5 out of 10 instead.

Korean traditional games turned into burtal?

Checking my emails, to-do-list and going through my social media accounts are always some of the things to start my day with. Next to having my breakfast, of course. While trying my best not to fall asleep at the dining table. Ahaaa. ( ד○ ד;)

But one thing that has been trending for these past few days on Twitter, and most of the accounts that I've been following are talking about it.

Squid Game.

A Korean drama series that is popular at the moment. At first, I thought it going to be a Korean version of Money Heist because the pink outfit design looks the same as what they were wearing in MH. So, I ignore it as I'm not really a fan of that series after watching its first episode.

But what made me decided to check it out and watched it was the theories that people have been made on Twitter on the drama. Tell you what- I'm a huge fan of horrors, thrillers, mysteries and all of these mind breaking theories.

So, I spent less than 24 hours watching the drama with my friend through Discord's voice call. Yes, please stay at home and don't make the government shake their heads at your stupidity by going out and contributing more to the rising cases instead of helping each other out. (⎻▵ ⎻)

Alright! Back to the drama. My friend and I have fallen in love with this Korean drama, and I can't stress enough how frustrated we were last night once we finished watching and throughout the whole drama, we both like to analyse things.

What the next game will be-

Who is the mastermind behind all of these?

Though, honestly. I already found the answer to that on the second episode. There are lots of things in this drama that we can learn from it. One of them is Human's greediness. You will understand once you watch this drama, not for entertainment, but to learn how humans work.

Okay, that might sound creepy coming from me but yes. Sometimes watching this kind of genre of drama or movie teach you the ugly side of humans and at the end of the day. You will be able to learn how to differentiate or be more careful with the people who are acting nice but actually have a negative intention. In the case of this drama, it is Sang Woo.

You don't want to know how much hatred I have for this character. (˶◡‿◡)

But nonetheless, as expected from Korean actors and actresses. Their acting skills are top-notch. Insert french kiss sound here, please.

I want to talk more about the drama but I shall save it for the next post. Especially on the things that I am frustrated with.

Japanese Horror Game

I'm not sure how many of you play horror games but I know I do and I really love to play them now. Especially if it is related to Japanese horror stories or folklore.

Well, I never like horror until 2020 where I started to find the enjoyment of playing horror games. I mean, I don't really mind the jump scares and gore stuff in the game. Call me weird and all, but I do find it pretty to look at.

I've been playing some horror games for a few months back and didn't get to play any new ones due to my pack schedule. Trying to catch up with some of my assignments due dates.

So, here I am. Will be talking about those horror games that I have had been playing. The game company that I pretty much play their games the most is Chilla's Art. I played most of their games, like, The Convenience Store, Stigmatized Property, The Ghost Train, Missing Children and last not least their latest one, Night Delivery.

Among those, I like The Ghost Train more as it is related to one of the Japanese mysterious stories on a train that goes only one way and never goes back. I know this from a Japanese friend of mine. She mentioned it while I was playing on my stream. Yes, I do stream sometimes on Youtube or Twitch. You can check the VOD of my stream here. (Shameless advertising coming through-)

As far as I remember until now, almost 99% of what I was been through in the game is what was happening based on the mysterious train story. Whoever that get on to the last train at night and experiencing weird things. When they arrived at the destination, it wasn't the place that they expected to be at. An unknown train station in the middle of nowhere. A train station that does not exist on the map or the train company service in Japan.

Some people tried it out, out of curiosity and I guess most of them managed to come back home safely??? You can read more on this page for the English version of her story that she told me.

Another thing that made me like this game is that there are lots of vTuber's photos in it. Lol. And not the mention the puzzle in the game cracked my head to the point I have to watch a walkthrough of the game. Not gonna lie, puzzles are not my thing when it comes to horror games.

Nonetheless, no matter how scary the game is. I would love to try to play them and enjoy the thrill.

What's going on to our Ocean?

I came across a film when I searched for another film recommended by my lecturer, The Social Delima. But that is not the film that I wanted to talk about in today's entry. Seaspiracy, that is the name of the film that I had found. (Rather than a film, I think it is a documentary- )

And so, a few minutes into the documentary I remembered a piece of news that I came across a few years ago when I was really into アニメ (anime - Japanese cartoon). Japan's whale hunting. At first, I didn't believe the news. The most country that I believed to be peaceful and less corrupted one, won't do such a thing. Plus I was starting to get to know the Japanese culture. （・□・；）

A few years from the first news I heard, another news stated that Japan has fully stopped all of their whaling activities. I was happy to hear it but after watching this documentary. I was proven wrong. Japan still doing their whaling activity. ‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚

U.N. Court Orders Japan to Halt Whaling Off Antarctica (Published 2014)

The International Court of Justice said that Japan’s “scientific whaling” program in the Southern Ocean was illegitimate.

I don't know what to feel when Japan was brought up in the documentary. There's even a live record of the activities. (◞‸◟；)

Not only Japan but there are also quite a few countries doing this activity. By watching this documentary you will realize that our ocean is actually in danger. Like danger DANGER!

Even the companies that are supposed to protect the ocean isn't doing what they say they would do. It would be better for you to watch the documentary and see it for yourself. You will appreciate the ocean and the sea animals that are important in our ecosystem.

The first drama I will be talking about is a Japanese drama called 3年A組 ―今から皆さんは、人質です― (3 Nen A Kumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi Desu)

Translated to English: Class 3A - All of You Are Hostages From Now On

With graduation 10 days away, homeroom teacher Hiiragi gathered all 29 students of class 3-A and proclaims them his hostages. His last lesson regards the death of a student that passed away a few months before. Nobody will be able to graduate until the truth is known.

The summary of the drama itself is already straightforward. To find the murderer of his student, Reina Kageyama. At first, I thought the murderer must be one of the students and the teacher must be crazy or a psychopath for taking his own students as hostages but I was wrong.

Each episode always made me use all of my brain cells to find who was the killer and why the teacher must take the students as his hostages. I mean, why not let the police do it? It's their job after all.

But further into the drama, I understand why he does it this way. The killer is someone difficult be to catch and put behind the bars. Not only to find who was the killer, but he also has another reason to use this method. To make his students change for the better, be responsible for their own actions and generally, be kind.

It all started because of a doping video of Reina that was circulated on Social Media and without asking or investigating the truth. They all bullied Reina and that pushed her to take her own life. It was not shocking to me to know the students were involved in the bullying. It was predicted by how they treated their own teacher badly at the beginning of the first episode.

Although I find his way to be too harsh and brutal. But after all, it's a drama and the director along with the scriptwriter are the ones planning on how it will go.

Yet at the same time, I was amazed at the actor's acting skills. It was one of the reasons why a friend of mine recommended this drama. Another reason was just to make me use my brain and learn a few new things from watching it.

Talking about actors, you will find this guy's character in the drama to be quite annoying. :) V E R Y

Back to the story, I'm not sure if I should write down every single thing about the drama as I don't want to spoil the thrill when you watch this drama. That if you're going to watch but I do recommend you to watch it. The phase and speed are weird and all, but I'm sure you will learn a few things as I did.
