Sometimes I really pity Hibiya because he’s the only one not directly related to anyone in the Dan or the cast in general. He actually doesn’t have any business with them prior to the event of the story.

Like, there are Yuukei Quartet (Shintaro-Ayano-Haruka-Takane), Kisaragi Siblings (Momo-Shintaro), Tateyama family (Kenjirou, Ayaka, Ayano, Kido, Seto, Kano, sometimes Marry), Kozakura family (Marry, Azami, Shion, Tsukihiko). Whereas Hibiya just happens to be a classmate of Hiyori, who is apparently the estranged younger sister of Ayaka, who is the mother of Ayano. Hibiya and Hiyori don’t even live in the same city as the others.

Dude just visits the city on one summer holiday, suddenly is dragged and killed or made to watch Hiyori die in a time loop worth 10 years, gets out of it at the cost of her life with massive trauma and strange eye power, then gets killed again by Saeru.

Literally everything that happens to him is simply because he is there at the wrong place and the wrong time.
