a thing that i particularly love about the hunger games prequels is how it shows that people have been fighting against the games since their inception
when i was younger and read the original trilogy for the first time i was so bothered how it was 74 years of games, i remember thinking how could it have gone on so long without anyone doing anything
these prequels highlight that people have been fighting from the get-go: lucy gray's defiance, reaper ripping down panem's flags to cover the fallen tributes, haymitch's games and how many others shared his ideologies - the capitol just drowns them out, they rewrite their stories so their efforts are forgotten

Everyone, I am so sorry to send out the help signal again, but I had a job offer that fell through, and I am struggling affording my thyroid medicine / food for day to day life ; surviving off of leftovers and canned goods, would love to eat something fresh for a day oe two. I am unable to take in commissions atm because I am working a whopping 10 hours *every day* while being disabled atm due to having 2 other jobs. Still waiting to get paid from inprnt and my work at publishing, would absolutely appreciate any help i can get- I will Die without thyroid medicine, hehe feeling super nervous and antsy. We couldn't find a toxicologist for three different hospitals (we live in the philippines), so our ER fees plus an xray fee plus the toxicologist and a host of other specialized doctors is costing me more than what I have. imo you get the most out of engaging with media when you strike a balance between treating characters as people (reading interiority into their actions, considering the effect of various aspects of their identity, etc etc) and as vehicles for storytelling (what narrative purpose do they serve, how do their actions and personality function to convey the themes of the work, etc etc). because of course characters are literary devices but also there’s a reason we use literary devices written to embody realistic people in order to tell stories
