it absolutely fucking baffles me that people in this fandom will say shit like “haha batarians aren’t people”, “haha we should exterminate all batarians”, “haha hundreds of thousands of innocent people living as slaves under a totalitarian government deserved to die” and genuinely somehow think it’s funny and not weird as fuck to say shit like that.

like yeah mass effect is a game but the fact that there’s people who can make dog whistle comments like that and then play the plausible “it was just dark humor” deniability card when called out is INSANE to me. the fact that you’re even able to think like that in relation to fiction is weird as fuck to me.
