It wasnât hard to hear. What sounded like her choking up on her own words as the barrier holding back her emotions shattered. So she didnât want him to leave, but she keeps talking the marriage being in void, or telling him to leave. Ahh, kaidaâs emotions were fickle. One minute itâs stay, the next minute itâs leave.
âJust pick one already Kaida. Iâm trying to make you happy but itâs getting difficultâŚâ
He let out a slight huff and rolled his eyes. He couldnât help but let a smile creep along the corner of his lips. How innocently ignorant they were of each others claims and arguments. It had been a muddled thinking and plenty of accusations more than any attempt to sit down and actually understand what the other was saying. Maybe words didnât actually accomplish much in the end. At least not nearly as much as actions did.
He swiveled  around on his heel in order to face the heiress once more. Step by step he made his way back to her. As he approached Natsu wouldnât utter a word since she seemed to despise how frail words could be. How they never expressed things exactly the way you wanted them to. Instead, heâd grab the doragons wrist, pulling her into his embrace. Perhaps this should suffice to explain things. He would reach his hand up and slowly let his fingers trail through her hair, murmuring all the while.
âQuit crying. You act like Iâm going somewhere.â
âPick one alreadyâ
If only she could, because, if it was up to her, the choice was obvious, Natsu would stay there, in the land of Demons, in the Doragon village, but not when they fought like that, not when he seemed so ready to leave their marriage because it was one sided, it was loveless, if he couldnât grow to love her the way she loved him
When he hugged her, though, her eyes went wide, not expecting the embrace at all, and the wall she spent years building, the one that he seemed to crack every damn day with each smile, each laugh, each joke, the countless hours that felt like minutes passing of the two of them together, the meals they shared, their training, endless discussions about dragons; it finally completely crumbled to dust
She was completely vulnerable, but, she was also too tired to care anymore
She brought her own arms up, before fisting blue fingers into the back of his top, clinging as she did exactly what he told her to stop
She cried
âI know youâre not happy... I know you donât love me... but please... just... just pretend you do..â she all but begged, her eyes squeezing shut tight
