how do I tumblr in 2025???
This is the first time I have logged in literally like 7 years and I've already installed two browser extensions to try to get it to "function" the way I remember (xkit and tumblr savior - anything better??). Everything looks so different and broken in unfamiliar ways?? So many ads?? At least xkit gets rid of those. Does tumblr still do the 'only the first 5 tags get tracked' thing? How do I do anything. I feel bad for disappearing :(
I am 500% certain that over the years tumblr glitched, probably multiple times, and unfollowed a ton of the people that I was following. I looked up several people I definitely remember and it says I'm not following but I definitely was. I truly would not have unfollowed anyone over the past 8 years because I literally did not log on. But because it unfollowed everyone, I don't know who it was, and also some people changed usernames so I'm not sure anymore where people are or how to find them?? Anyway if you're still here and think that we were mutuals but for some reason I'm not following you anymore, please lmk because I want to follow! Or you can comment and I'll check :)
That said, when I glanced at the list of people I'm still following (which also glitched and took two tries to show up) I also see that about 95% are also inactive (haven't posted in like 5+ years), so I guess a lot of people left around the same time :/ I'm flummoxed by where to like, find fandom these days. I used to think it was because my fandoms were small, but these days I'm into some huge ones and yet finding places where people are talking about stuff feels so difficult. Checking a few tags, I actually don't think my fandoms are that active here either, so idk how active I'll be, but I'll try it out.
(Amazingly the one thing that tumblr did save was my tracked tags of 8 years ago even though they now show up in one long scrollblob)
My current fandoms are: World Trigger, Alice in Borderland, Genshin Impact (I'm behind), Honkai Star Rail (I'm behind), random anime and manga, this list is always in flux. I still listen to kpop sometimes! My faves: Infinite and Dreamcatcher.
Oh, and I'm on dreamwidth where I'm actually pretty active, it's great. I'm starting a bsky as well (same username) but I'm not sure yet how active I'll be there either, but feel free to follow there too if you want. Hope everyone is well!
