It wasn’t a daily thing for her, you couldn’t even call it a monthly thing. In all her time she’d probably only ever stopped by the arcade once or twice at most, games lining the place, from fight game to those bright dancing ones. It wasn’t really her thing but it was curiosity at seemed to pull her in, an impulse to see what was so great about the gaming center. one of those things that you just kinda wander around in for no reason.
Woah this guy’s pretty good! Hitting the steps as the arrows told him not missing a beat. He must play dance a lot, or he’s really lucky.
She folder her arms as she watched, wanting to say something; ‘you’re cool.’ or maybe an 'awesome.’ but you’re not suppose to talk when someones focusing so hard right? It looks like she’d just watch for now save her words of cool moves for later, kill some time and see how long he lasts. It couldn’t be to long right? The songs weren’t that long after all, well from what she heard they weren’t.
The arrows speed up faster to certain timings of the song. He nearly loses balance, stumbling to the side as he spins around. He occasionally glances at the dance pad, unaware of anyone around him.
Dancing is a requirement for Vocaloids to get the crowd going. Androids are physically capable to do more compared to a human. But that doesn’t mean they can’t get exhausted. Unlike a human, androids can both sing and dance without tiring themselves out too quickly. A good charging will easily get them going again.
❇ — “Hm? I did good?”
He enthusiastically examines his results, pleased he did well. It wasn’t a perfect score but it’s something! It’s been a while since Kaito last danced. He too feels a slight disappointment he didn’t let it come to him naturally. Was he out of his game?
He hops off the dance pad and retrieves his treat, finishing the rest of it. He feels the presence of someone else, slowly turning around.
❇ — “Oh! Hello. Were you waiting to play this game?”
Kaito stirs the straw in his empty drink, eyeing the other Vocaloid in front of him.
Oh, he looked like a helpless puppy. Hm, Maiko started to feel quite heroic, indeed.
"No problem, Mister Bluehead~~!" She chirped, winking, grinning brightly. Then she went completely silent, just for a moment lasting less than a few seconds, wordlessly searching through her data to find said destination, before suddenly jumping up a little, pointing forward. "This way!"
And there she was already rushing off. Maybe a bit too fast.
If he were built with a GPS... If only he were built with a GPS! But he wsn't built that way, only to store in data and save songs and lyrics into his system. There isn't even any internet access within him. Kaito follows Maiko to the designated places, but she's going fast, walking a little too fast and he takes bigger steps.
He's slowly falling behind, rushing between people to keep track of her.
He finally reaches her, sweating bullets think he would have lost his guide.
❇ — "Haah... You're walking a little fast, it's hard to keep up without running."
Oh, just great.
That way his lucky day. He was just run over by a kid on a bicycle and he wasn’t exactly sure if his cellphone was still working due to the accident.
To make things worse, he lost his keys and he’d have to wait for his sister to come back from the shopping mall to enter his house.
And now this.
He sighed.
Calm down, Len.
Breathe.
At least it’s just the sole of your brand new pair of shoes…
「….」
This day sure is going off to a great start. Play it cool, it was only an accident. It's a little scary to see that blond kid up close.
❇ — "My bad. I didn't mean to, it slipped out of my hands." The look on his face, that very look that reads 'You're gonna get it.' Or maybe that's only the young man worrying too much for what he's done. It really wasn't on purpose and he didn't expect that boy to step all over the drink!
He picks up the empty cup, discarding it in the nearest trash bin. As he's about to return to the bench, a ball aims at the back of his very own head.
If Len were on that exact spot, it would have gotten him rather than Kaito. The android sits up, rubbing the side of his cheek. He can feel bits of skin peeling from his cheekbone, agitated that it may have ripped off his flesh and is exposing his inhuman bones.
❇ — "Is, am I okay?!" His head shoots up at Len, demanding for an answer. It's only a scrape with spots of blood.
When will autumn come? A summer's heat is too much to bare with all that he has is a fan in a small home; a small apartment he is renting. Maybe staying in a hotel for the rest of his life would be better or once the android makes plenty of friends. Housing in with roommates sounds like a terrific idea!
He's on bench under a tree, a kid with blond locks passes by.
And his ice cold snow boba tips over from his hands. The drink spills , a large sweet puddle under his shoes for ants to come crawling to. That kid reminds him of someone, but it's not the same someone he lived with before.
Lost, huh? Well, gladly she wasn’t exactly busy right now, and being a naturally kind person, she was more than motivated to help.
"Understood!" Okay, Maiko, time to shine. "Recording studio. Restaurant. Hotel. I know this city better ‘an anyone else! I’ll be your tour guide! Just follow me~~!"
❇ — "Oh, thank goodness. Running in circles has come to an end... I'm so glad." He looks like he's about to cry! It's a relief to find someone familiar to this particular city. "So I just follow you and get the directions memorized."
He's more visual rather than verbal. He could always look back into his data, but like human, he forgets things and even forgets an android like himself stores memories into an archive.
'Health problems? I'm not exactly unhealthy, but…'
When the class continued, Len did remain quiet. Though when the bell rang, he remained behind, like many of the students assumed he would. Once it was just him and Kaito, he stood. “Um…? Can I talk to you…?”
'I've told a few teachers about my condition, I think I can trust him too. At least, I hope I can.'
Kaito looks up from his desk, unloading a pack of lunch kept inside his book bag. It's only one student for this class who stays after.
❇ — "Yea, of course you can talk to me." He moves his lunch aside, smiling at Len. One good thing for Len is that it's back to school and this is a new teacher, so other students won't exactly be staying in his classroom as of yet.
❇ — "What could it be?"
Earphones on, humming to herself, not really paying much attention to her surroundings. Unfortunately she didn’t notice the young man who approached her either, at least at first, not until she felt a light touch on her shoulder. “Eh—-?”
Turning around to face the blue-haired male, blinking. His face was somewhat familiar, but she couldn’t recall where she had seen him before. Slowly taking off her earphones, a silly grin on her face. Maybe the music was a bit too loud.
”…. ‘m sorry, what did’cha say? I didn’t understand ya.” Awkward laugh.
The girl isn't responsive, so he lightly taps on her shoulder to grab the girl's attention. Still not much of a response; it turns outs she couldn't hear him. His face is a little red, embarrassed.
❇ — "Ah... My bad. It's okay." He waves his hands in front of his chest. "Mm, I'm kinda lost there. I was asking if you had any directions to get to a recording studio and to a restaurant. Kinda need to know which hotel I might need to stay at. I've been running in circles..."
—Ah, great. New teacher, first to be called upon. Such a thing was what Len would prefer to avoid, but sometimes there was no way to do so.
'I just…can't.'
He cleared his throat, to keep up appearances that ‘she’ was sick and frail. After defining that for the teacher, he began to read the page.
'Hopefully he'll think twice before calling on me again. I know how to control them…'
❇ — "Mm, very impressive! You have a nice voice. Now can anyone raise their hands and tell us what she read for us?" A student's hand pops up, calling out to that person. The student summarizes that 'she' had read the rules out loud.
For a new teacher, he's fairly young to be a science teacher. And he also has some weird sense of fashion and interior design! He has a single rose on each side of his head, there's even rose vines growing within the classroom!
❇ — "I don't want loud noises or disruptions in my class. Everyone can eat as long as snacks are in a bowl or on a napkin. I have plenty in the cupboards. Please be respectful of students and get along! This is a friendly environment and everyone should feel safe. If anyone has personal issues such as anxiety or health problems, etcetera, please come see me after class."
The teacher goes on about classroom rules and safety up until the lunch bell rings.
Back to school, back to school from summer vacation. The hallways are filled with loud kids who won't stop chattering what they did over break! Mr. Kurai isn't too happy with this situation — too much noise bugs him!
❇ — "Settle down!" He clears his throat. "We wouldn't want anyone to not understand any information, hm? I am your science teacher for this year!"
"My last name is Kurai, but all of you kids can call me Kaito. I think it's unfair for me to be called by my last name, we are all equals and I don't want to intimidate some of you new kids or transfers! We will be learning all sorts of biology, some physics, and chemistry. We will be dealing with chemicals a little later this year!"
The young man checks his roster, figuring out who is who and where they're sitting. "Hm... Len?" He looks up from a piece of paper. "Could you read the first page for us in a nice clear voice?"
A young man wanders around, thoroughly confused. He's pretty sure he hasn't been here before.
❇ — "Um... Where's the restaurant? And the recording studio?" He finds the closest person, a girl with long hair and small horns. "Excuse me, do you know where a resturant is? And the studio?"

The comment didn’t surprise the teen. Quite frankly, his usual expression retained a bothered look to it, so he got that statement a lot. Was he okay? Nah. But would he tell strangers his life story? Nah. 'Well I've killed hundreds of people and they all haunt me, so no, I'm really not okay.'He had a feeling something like that wouldn’t be taken very well.
"It’s nothing," Attai murmured, half to himself. "I just woke up myself is all." Maybe that wasn’t obvious, but his persistent exhaustion made him feel like it should have been. "Don’t worry about it, you didn’t bother me at all." Granted, the man did wake him up, albeit the smallest things could. He didn’t need to know that.
Attai just hoped for some kind of bakery near wherever he got off. The Clan made sure he had plenty of money for food, and he certainly put it to good use. While he always had a craving for cupcakes, he did eat real food to sustain what little health he had.
Turning his attention back to the stranger, the teen tilted his head. “You don’t look so good. Maybe you should lay down somewhere like a bed or something more relaxing than a moving train filled with people,” he advised. Evidently seeing to other’s needs was easier than tending to his own.
The look on his face is blank, cracking a bit of a smile when the teen responds.
❇ — "Waking up from a good sleep, or sleep in general, does feel bothersome." Two strangers meeting in a train, it feels like it were something else. The young man isn't going to poke at it. It's common sense not to pour one's soul out unless it's been brought up ahead of time, or is that something else?
They do share something in common, if it were a fact or something he'd accept of himself. Likewise in feelings, how would this young man react if he tells him he might have killed his own family? That's not going to end well.
❇ — "Eh, h-huh? Even sleeping on the most comfortable isn't going to give me the sweetest dreams. Sounds tend to wash over me."
That nearly scared me, for a second... I thought what I dreamt was obvious. Then the cops would get called and I might end up in jail! Or even worse... Scrapped!
The subway train comes to a halt and it's his stop. Kaito waves at the teen as he hops off. The sunlight blinds him again, bumping into a man and apologizing soon after. Not caring if people see, he runs ahead. The scarf flops around from behind, his mood lifting up.
For sure the beach isn't so far from the stop! He can see the ocean ahead and hundreds of shops in a row. Kaito proudly walks to his destination, growing tired as he's halfway there, and the rest of his body goes limp minutes before he reaches the ice cream parlor. It's in between other shops serving edible goods. He enters and purchases a large green tea milkshake with boba and chocolate ice cream, savoring the taste as he takes a sip. If he could enjoy this day with a friend, if he had any, or even a stranger! He didn't care.
Life's sweets were one of a handful of things that could wash away his worries.

Attai was guilty of falling asleep on the train, as he often tended to doze off on days that succeeded restless night. Insomnia remained a weakness of him, and it seemed easier to sleep in motion. Sadly, that feeling decided to stay with him wherever he went.
It all stayed the same. Everytime he closed his eyes to sleep, he saw hundreds of faces, all stained in red, all staring right into him. They wanted to know why; so did he. Why his life turned out the way it did was something he could only look upon with a sigh and hopeless regret. If he had done something back then, he wouldn’t be so miserable at present.
He knew sulking about it wouldn’t help. He tried his best not to think, not to feel, but no matter how far he ran, he couldn’t escape anything. No matter how much he considered and analysed, he could see no end to his daily torment that came with being under their control. No matter what, it was his own personal hell — his cross to bare.
Movement beside him roused the teen from his slumber. Glancing to the side, he saw the familiar face of someone who just woke from a nightmare. It seemed that Attai wasn’t the only one suffering. “You alright there, buddy?” he inquired, inclining his head towards the man.
And there was a voice, was it his own conscious asking him if he was alright...? The voice of a young man, how odd that such a voice was in his head. Until his ears followed where it came from, the young man next to him. Kaito faces him, alarmed that he isn't small in height! Are they both at same length?
❇ — "Yea, just fine. Just had a bad dream." He responds, rubbing the back of his neck.
Kaito's nose feels stuffy, probably from the heat. There are days as if he woke up from a flu.
❇ — "Nn, did I feel asleep on you or something? Maybe not, but I'm sorry if I did. I didn't exactly see you, or anyone else, for that matter." The young man stretches his arms out in front.
Blue eyes scan the inside of the train, hoping they were nearing a stop. His mouth is dry and he looks forward to being at the beach in the other city. A whole new place, and maybe even tastier cold treats!
❇ — "Maybe it's me, but you look a little bothered." He catches a glimpse of the boy's eyes.

Trains were boring. At first, it’s beautiful to look out at the scenery you pass by, but after a while, you desensitize to your surroundings. It’s drab. Boring. So Miku began to look around at the passengers.
Old businessmen in suits, mothers with children, and young men sitting by themselves.
One specific young man.
She saw the sparkles down his face; the sun shining through the window causing the tear tracks to glimmer. Wiping them away, she watched him settle in.
And he reminded her of someone she knew.
She couldn’t just stand there.
"Ex-excuse me sir, but…
I, ah, I just wanted to make sure you were okay…”
Vision a-blur, a figure comes walking towards him. The spots in his eyes vanish, given a clear image of who the person is.
One of the girls in his dreams—?!
He chokes at nothing, keeping his mouth shut or else he'd cough at the young lady. Kaito clears his throat, scooting himself upward on his seat.
❇ — "Hm...? Yes, I am feeling okay." He smiles at the girl.
This is a matter of something different. She must have caught his tears. The young man is embarrassed about it.
❇ — "Everything's fine. I woke up from a bad dream."
Or couldn't he call it a nightmare?
He wouldn't enjoy sharing out something gruesome, and it was something personal. People could overhear their conversation and mistake him for a murderer.
❇ — "You should return to your seat... Or would you want to sit with me? I'm not sure if I'd have anything interesting to share." His eyes light up and he smiles a second time.

A young man strums his harp, fingers dancing on the instrument as he walks. He sings in a strange dialect that no one but gods could understand. With a strong voice and capability to speak in the tongue of gods, his purpose is to please those superior beings.
His song comes to a finale, vocals soaring to the sky. He rests the harp, strapped to his side. The young man lowers his hood, shielding his eyes from the sun. The corner of his eye catches the river by the side, glistening from the sunlight. Nature flows in rhythm to the cool breeze.
He walks towards the edge, kneeling down and dipping his hands into the clear river. He cups his hand together, drinking one of nature's most freshest water.
