TS2 ULTIMATE COLLECTION ISSUE: DOES YOUR GAME HIDE ALL THE NEIGHBORHOODS AND CRASHES? HERE'S HOW TO FIX IT !!!
I was confused but i wanted to test if i still can create new neighborhoods and when i tried this happened.. The game crashed.
I went right away to my documents folder to see what was happening, and my
“EA Games > The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection” folders were missing completely.
I thought maybe a Windows 10 Update had move them to: “Local Disc (C:) > Users > Public > Public Documents” folder. But no. Nothing there.
I uninstall the entire game (BIG MISTAKE, DON’T DO THIS. YOU CAN RESTORE YOUR GAME AND YOUR CC’S WITHOUT LOSING THEM!! I HOPE THIS TUTORIAL CATCHED YOU UP BEFORE YOU DO THIS!!) And I re-install it again. (With my origin account) After 2 and half hours when I opened my game it had the same issue… This time i thought it was origin’s fault and I pressed update game and after that, repair. YET nothing changed. So I uninstall the game once again.
So I tried other ways except origin to download the game but it just didn’t work at all… Until after many tries I decided to give another chance to Origin.. But this time I was starting to understand the main issue.. I was like it’s not that my neighborhoods that are missing the problem.. ! BUT the game does not generate the document folder AT ALL from the start…!!!
So I googled: “The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection does not generate document folder” and I saw that another person had THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
i opened it and i prayed for this person to have found the solution! and IT DID had the solution at the second page at the last reply of the post !!!
So Yeah not long time ago I had changed my pc’s locale to Japanese because I needed it for one program that I am using. So by then this happened !! I am glad thesimmer14 found out that was the cause because I would never have guess it.
When I changed the locale back to my previous one (Mine is Greece but for you guys it will be US or what country you had at locale before you change it), The game opened normally and it generated the documents folder right back !!! no needed to re install it or nothing it just fixed it!
Don’t try to change the locale again after fixing the game tho. Even if it has regenerate the documents folder, the game will not open.
So here’s how you change the locale settings:
