It was not a good start for Cleveland Browns rookie QB Johnny Manziel as the Browns fell to the division leading Cincinnati Bengals 30-0 in their Week 15 matchup on Dec. 14, 2014.

Q: How close was Rob Gronkowski to playing yesterday?
BB: I don’t know. He was inactive.
Q: Did he have a shot to play?
BB: He was inactive.
Q: Going into the day, was there a chance he’d play?
BB: He was inactive for the game.
Q: What about Danny Amendola?
BB: He was inactive too.
Q: I know they were inactive.
BB: They were inactive so they didn’t play.
Q: I think you have an idea how close they were.
BB: Well, they weren’t able to play. What do you want, percentage points? They couldn’t play.
Q: Going into the day, did you know they couldn’t play?
BB: They were inactive.
Q: That doesn’t answer my question.
BB: They were inactive, it’s as simple as that.
BREAKING NEWS: COLTS ACQUIRE RB TRENT RICHARDSON FROM THE BROWNS - After Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard went down for the season with a torn ACL last week, team owner Jim Irsay went to Twitter to tease fans about a blockbuster trade that the team was attempting to make. Well on Wednesday, Irsay’s plan was revealed as we’ve learned from several sources that the Colts have acquired running back Trent Richardson from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a first-round pick in 2014. This is an absolutely stunning trade. Richardson was in his second year with the Browns. But the former Alabama star was also selected by the Browns under an old regime. He wasn’t picked by Mike Lombardi and it’s clear Cleveland is prepared to move in a different direction. (Photo: Associated Press)
Week 2: Best block by a running back.
A textbook decleater right to his chest.

Good sign, and we need to see more of this from the rooks if they can get healthy and get back on the field.
From across the field, Tom Brady’s short completion to Danny Amendola seemed like a routine play at yesterday’s minicamp practice. Brady took the snap in 11-on-11 work, peered right and quickly buzzed the ball into Amendola’s hands as the slot receiver found a spot in an open zone, gaining a handful of yards. No big deal, it seemed, until Brady got fired up about the job Amendola did to dissect the coverage at the same speed as Brady and run the route to get open. It’s that timing and quick thinking that make receivers successful with Brady, and the quarterback was ecstatic after the play.

players are not stats, they are people, don’t claim one is “better” than another because of # of goals, in x # of games and all that shit
would you want someone to compare you to others based entirely on your grades? no because there’s more to who you are than that.
we can all have our personal favourite, and who we think is the best but that doesn’t mean you can tell someone else that their favourite or best is not.

NOOOOOOOO DON'T CHANGE IT!
Wes Welker, Denver Broncos agree to 2-year contract
Wes Welker waited and waited for the offer he wanted from the New England Patriots. It never came.
Broncos executive VP John Elway, on the other hand, delivered the goods. Albert Breer of NFL.com first reported that Welker agreed to terms on a two-year, $12 million contract. The Broncos quickly confirmed the news via Twitter.
Breer later reported, via a source involved in the Brocons talks, that the Patriots final and only offer was a two-year, $10 million contract with incentives.
What a moment in time this is for the Patriots and the entire AFC title race. Welker goes from one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time Tom Brady to another in Peyton Manning. The No. 1 seed in the AFC from a year ago takes away the top receiver from the No. 2 seed. His departure mirrors Adam Vinatieri’s to the Indianapolis Colts in 2006. And the Denver Broncos didn’t even have to give up long-term guaranteed money to get him.
For so many years, we heard that Welker was a “product of the system.” That always underplayed Welker’s terrific quickness and his ability to see recognize coverages and make the right decisions on option routes. It’s hard to imagine Welker succeeding everywhere, but he’s absolutely a perfect fit for Manning and the Broncos.
Welker will work the middle of the field with Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas on the outside. You can only double cover so many wideouts, and Thomas will attract a lot of attention. More than ever, Manning loves to get rid of the ball quickly. That plays to Welker’s strengths; he’s a huge upgrade from Brandon Stokley, who managed 45 catches last year at age 36.
We’re surprised the Patriots valued Welker so little not to offer him similar money. But this long saga between the Patriots and Welker seemed to be about more than money. Welker took the negotiations personally, just like he took his brief benching early last season personally.
Welker has always played with a chip on his shoulder. He’ll be more motivated than ever to stick to his former team, just like he always used to stick to the Miami Dolphins.
Oh, by the way: The Broncos head to Foxborough this season.
The Patriots have released Brandon Lloyd from the team, avoiding the 3 million bonus that was owed. 2 quick notes. Lloyd could be back on a cheaper deal, but not before testing free agency. This could also mean room for Emmanuel Sanders, who in my opinion will be joining the Pats soon unless Pittsburgh restructures deals and makes room in their tight cap situation.
Pats have agreed to part with this year’s #1 pick ’ also next years (2014) #2nd rd pick + some kind of conditional pick in 2014 (Based on teams performance if Revis stays healthy)
REPORT: Anquan Boldin rejects the Baltimore Ravens ultimatum, is set to test the free agent market. It was only a few weeks ago that Boldin claimed he would retire before the season started rather than play for another team. I guess a few weeks could really change your mind. We’ll update with more details when we learn more.
Wide receiver Wes Welker has no plans to re-sign with the Patriots before testing the free agent market next week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Report: Welker will test free agent waters
Makes sense for Welker to see what’s out there, he might never get another chance. Still think he comes back to New England, but he’d be foolish to just take the Patriots deal without hearing what other teams would be willing to offer him.
If you love a player, set him free, if he comes back to you it was meant to be…
