Jesus Christ, both times I’ve seen MCR live it has hit me off guard that they have a song about dying of cancer

#just sobbing like a baby full ugly tears #it’s been a hell if a few weeks at work lmao #I forget it bc I just automatically hit skip after house of wolves #so the only times I’ve every listened to it since I was about 19 have been live #I’ve not been able to listen to it since I started placement at uni and I’ve worked full time w cancer patients for seven years #and most of the time I don’t take it home with me (obvs sometimes I do but I’m usually so good at compartmentalising)#but I hear that song and the flood gates fucking OPEN #best gig of my life tonight honestly #I listened to Kids From Yesterday on the way home just to make sure I’d got all the emotional damage out of the way #stuff #I’m still on the verge of tears tbh

“Micro celebrity you’ve had a parasocial crush on for years dates one of your close friends and turns out to be truly unhinged, proves to you that you can’t trust the way anyone presents their life on instagram because literally none of it is accurate, at the same time you settle into a healthy relationship and fall in love” really sounds like the plot of a well meaning but over dramatic and unrealistic show for kids, but that’s an actual thing that happened in my life recently

#I say recently the main event was like six months ago #but the fallout continues and it’s honestly baffling some of the stuff said micro celebrity still posts #if you’d told me a year ago about this I simply wouldn’t have believed you (it’s not very believable and yet)#stuff #what a silly little life I lead

Yk I just wrote a whole essay on why I’m so fucking mad about The Rose Field and it didn’t save and was therefore a waste of time, which is exactly how reading the entire book feels in retrospect so kinda thematic i guess

#unlike quite a lot of that book bc seriously what was the POINT of MOST of that #philip pullman #book of dust #his dark materials #the rose field #I’ve not been this mad at a book since the poppy war #(which I objectively hated more but it at least didn’t sully one of my favourite ever series)#I might rewrite the most at some point bc I’m so frustrated but I need to go to bed #Philip when I find you
