hello from the dark side
cleocarsons:
“If you tell anyone what I’m about to tell you, I will hunt you down and have to make amends all over again.” Cleo cleared her throat. “In May, I was admitted to a treatment center that deals with chemical dependency. Rehab. I went to rehab. And part of their program involves finding the people you’ve hurt before your recovery and apologizing. So I’m apologizing, alright? I’m sorry I said all those things about you, and called you ET, and provoked you. And I’m sorry I never let the punch go. I knew you were dark. I knew you weren’t in control of your actions, and I held it against you anyway, and I’m just sorry, okay?” Another thought occurred to her as well, and she quickly tacked it on at the end. “And I’m sorry about the Troy thing. Not the sleeping with him. That was alright. I’m sorry you found out like you did. And I think that about covers it, so.”
Kalei stood there, frozen in place. Her eyes were wide as she listened to Cleo's apology, a lump forming in her throat. "I..I accept your apology.." She spoke, her voice quiet and timid. Truth be told, Kalei had forgiven Cleo a long time ago.
scrolling through the dash and i get to dark troy and suddenly im too afraid to keep scrolling
And you like me better as a sister than a rabbit, right?
“No, actually.” Cleo took a deep breath, hating the words she was about to say before she even said them. The conversation with Makena had been necessary, but this one was coming out with gritted teeth and crossed arms. “I actually came to apologize.”
As soon as the words had left the blonde's lips, Kalei stepped back. "You-- W h a t?" The alien could hardly believe what she was hearing. Cleo Carson-- Apologizing? "I..Why?"
“Alright, that’s…worrying.” Cleo took a step back out of punching-range. “Do you think you could take a break from whatever it is you’re doing, just for ten minutes?”
"What do you want from me, Cleo?" Kalei asked, standing. She crossed her arms over her chest, eyebrows raised. "Are you here to comment on how I was created in a petri dish? Or about how pathetic I am?"
“Wow. Punch me in the face again, why don’t you.”
"I wouldn't be opposed to doing so."
"I mean this in the nicest way possible, I promise-- but fuck off, yeah? I'm a little busy."
“Well you could keep making a fool of yourself if you really want too,” Roxie mused, her nose in one of her notorious books (this one titled ‘100 Ways To Avoid The Guillotine).
"Awh, don't be like that, Rox."
Had the voice he heard belonged to anyone else but the girl that had spoken, he would have continued what he was doing and just responded to them at the same time. He could multi task just fine, but for some reason Kalei’s voice made him stop, and his hands twitched and hovered over the keyboard. “Hm? Oh, just, y’know, practise and habit and a mix of both I guess.”
"Well, you're good. Like-- Insanely good." Kalei nodded, inching a bit closer. "So...What are you attempting to hack into, if you don't mind me asking?"
“I didn’t say you couldn’t dance, I said you shouldn’t do it here in the art room while I’m trying to do something.”
"C'mon, Mikael. I practically live in this room-- I promise I won't mess up what you're working on."
“I mean you can’t dance as well as me. Although you do have some moves.”
"Excuse the fuck outta you."
“She’s looking just fine to me buddy!” Jaina called to the other.
"Exactly!"
“Are we choosing to forget that I’m the one with the claws here?”
"I've got claws too. It's just hard to intimidate people with them when they're attached to a purple fluffball."
[Dan was sitting curled over with the laptop on the table. He was typing so fast his fingers were pretty much sprinting across the keyboard, and the digits and letters on the screen moving just as fast. His foot tapped on the floor in a sort of habit kind of way, and his tongue slapping against the roof of his mouth quickly too. He was buzzed on what he was focusing on, only tearing away whenever he messed up somehow, which you could tell because he would make a small noise at disapproval.]
Kalei peeked her head in, brows furrowed as she watched the hunched boy rapidly type. She stepped into the room, head tilted as she inched closer, enticed by whatever he was working on. "How the hell can you type so fast?" Kalei asked, her tone full of amazement.
