What is your favourite Hungarian word/phrase you've learnt so far? (Be it from RésJ or your studies)

I've got lots I can think of from RésJ but I think my favourite's got to be “Itt a pokol tátong”. No idea if it's an established idiomatic expression or not but it's very vivid imagery and I love that

From my studies, fekete comes to mind, or really any word that contains only one vowel repeated. Tickles my brain for some reason

you have got to understand that your mother tongue is not the model of language. all your words have secret histories and layers of meaning just the same as other people's words. the word you think of as just a word has etymology, it wasn't handed down from God as a finished word. English doesn't have a word for movie you have to either refer to the recording medium or use a short version of "moving picture", isn't that cute?

I fear a lot of people learned to take good care of library books as children and instead of internalizing "leave shared community items as you found them as much as possible, because other people will use them too" they internalized "printing and binding a book imbues it with sacred energy and if you dog-ear a mass-market paperback you're desecrating the entire concept of written language"
