Kaidan’s exclamation of “Big place!” and Shepard holding back his amusement at the then-lieutenant.

That was three years ago, and Shepard’s missed two of them, years during which the lieutenant has grown and been promoted into the very major that stands before him. Strong, capable, and oh so handsome.

Thinking that he’s waited long enough, Shepard walks over. Kaidan doesn’t even notice until Shepard is right up beside him, but when he does, an endearingly sheepish look grows on his face.
