Happy Africa Day simmers! 🌍✨

I play a subsaharan African island called Labadi as my main hood in sims 2! I wanted to share with you some of Labadi’s cultural lore.

Sugar Mama is well known in Labadi for her sweet sweet cooking. Plus, she always has candy to give to the kids around town. That’s how she snagged the nickname Sugar Mama. She has had to cook to survive, raising two boys and taking care of an elderly mama on her own. Through it all, she has successfully operated a “chop bar” - a Ghanaian term for a casual eatery of local cuisine (usually fufu and a variety of soups) for many years. Her chop bar is called Sugar Mama’s of course! Though the spot has some wear and tear…the food is bussin! Period 🤭

There were also the tutorials I posted way, way, waaaaay back...but those were maybe backed up on the Wayback Machine and aren't a huge loss if they're gone. I could write better ones now.

so surreal to scroll through the gos archive and see stuff named 'clothes.zip' or just random lyrics or something. whatever's inside those files isn't technically lost, but it's hard to imagine organically discovering any of it again. yes it's possible to track down a download if you know exactly what you're looking for, but what if you don't...?

When I came back to the TS2 community, I was kinda sad to see that descriptive names had mostly taken over. It makes things so much easier to organize, but I kinda miss the whimsy. I did make one outfit with a song name, for nostalgia's sake.

Can't sleep, so I queued up gameplay posts through Tuesday morning. I need to be better about keeping up with that. I'm enjoying the writing, and looking back at my own gameplay.

Nightshirts are scheduled for tomorrow. Motivation seems to be holding. Gameplay posts might actually happen!

...pizza also needs to happen though. Like the kind of pizza that's currently a bagged ball of dough proofing on the counter.

I queued three gameplay posts, but then my game finished loading and it's almost pizza time. I was enjoying writing them, so I might *gasp* set the game aside for a bit and write some more before I play. But right now, I have a pizza to create.

Once I take these previews, I think I'm gonna load my game. And maybe I'll even write some gameplay posts. Maybe. Today has been a lot (and very expensive) and I could use some time focused on sims instead of real shit.

I will probably have the nightshirt recolors up tomorrow. Just finishing the fiddly stuff (tooltips, swatches, etc) and I'll take the previews next. I kept trying to make myself do the fiddlies after work and then just not doing it.

I'm also poking around with an idea I had, but I'm not thrilled with the results so far, so that might never see the light of day.

GoS has been down for kind of a while now. Anyone know anything?

I guess I should put up direct links to my stuff from there. Dunno when that'll happen. I'm pretty busy this weekend and next. I'm probably not gonna have any TS2 stuff for Pride, but I am actually gonna go out and be very visible as a queer person. (And then I'm going to an Echo and The Bunnymen concert that's annoyingly the same day.) Philly's Pride parade is charging money this year, which is fucked up, so I'm skipping that and just gonna see what I find.
