"If I ever hear someone diss Quartet Night, I might attack."
"Sometimes, I feel extra lucky to experience some concerts live thanks to my brother..." Yuna sighs contently before her eye twitched. Her phone playing Fly to the Future. "Unfortunately, it has also ruined me because their live vocals are all I want to hear now..."
She's here again. Dreaming. They don't happen consistently, but when they do, it's always the same place. Standing in the flower meadow surrounded by several blossoms. Irises, White Lilies, Yellow Pansies, Honeysuckle, and Daisies. A bit aways, she could hear the sound of waves crashing along the beach. "____..."

@a-hell-of-a-lot-of-muses replied to your post: ((BRB SOBBING))
((Good, I haven't lost my touch))
There was a time where Yuna couldn't wait for July 13th. Tiny feet toddling around to decorate the living room. Streamers under doorknob level, and unevenly spaced apart. Presents wrapped haphazardly; uneven and exposed the gift underneath, gift card envelopes still damp from the excessive saliva at the adhesive. White and green icing all over her face, being washed off by a pair of gentle hands and laughing along with a bright smile. Young Reiji's voice still echoed in her mind. "You did a good job helping mama and nee-san, Yu-chan! Thank you!"
As the years went, preparations slowly became more uniform and planned. Cake and cupcakes weren't as messy, neither were the streamer placements. She recalled someone huffing, a foul-mouthed boy... or was it the one with an attitude? She couldn't be bothered to remember. "No girls allowed! Especially babies." Even so, she still barreled her way in to join the teenagers in their gaming session. One of them went easy on her, she liked him out of his friends. But she remembers falling asleep in the birthday boy's arms while he and his friends chattered and discussed their musical futures into the night. It was hazy, but she remembers faintly hearing, "See, ___? Yu-Yu gave you a run for your money in that last round!"
The following years were a bit rougher... his friends didn't come back. Pages for other events covered the picture of their friend group on the fridge. His smile didn't reach his eyes most of the time. But even so, she did her best while everyone got home. Baking and decorating everything to the best of her abilities, until he had no choice and spent birthdays at work... in another city. Still, she did her best! Hand-drawing each birthday card, practicing calligraphy for the letter and an imperfect handmade ribbon tucked into the envelope. Receiving a text, along with a photo of the ribbon pinned to his hats. [It's perfect! Thank you, Yuna-chan! :D <3]
Yuna pulled the laminated photo from the machine. Brown eyes gazed at the idol group selfie that she received from her brother. An amused scoff passed her lips, placing it onto the fridge. The old photo's corner peeked out from under Yuna's latest writing competition entry. The face was obscured, but teal hair could vaguely be seen from the shine. The small cake on the table perfectly frosted with white and green frosting, "Happy Birthday, Reiji" spelled in perfectly cursive gold icing on top. A near expertly made ribbon right beside it, layers of shiny fabric, lace, and beads created an elegant yet stylish display. She took her own selfie with the finished products. "Happy birthday, Reiji-nii! I'll make you an even better cake next time you visit! Or maybe I'll come visit you one of these days! "
((Casually cooking up the most sentimental birthday post for Reiji as an apology for not being on this blog))
Reiji couldn't help but chuckle. "I suppose I should explain to her that the title isn't as scandalous as she thinks." It wasn't like Shining was asking them to be in some sort of porno, or other explicit venture, after all.
"That's the life of an idol for you! We need to have constant work, or the next thing you know we will be irrelevant and without fans." And thus fade into obscurity. Granted no idol could keep performing forever, and there would come a time where Reiji would have to step down and aside for the newer generations to come. Until then he would keep going.
"Good luck getting mama to believe otherwise, you know how she is." Yuna laughed. "She said she would go watch it with a folding fan to shield the eyes of any young-looking fans."
Yuna listened to her brother's words. Hearing the twinge of sadness in his tone. "Hey, don't think like that just yet! There are bands older than Quartet Night who still have plenty of fans, even some that have retired or disbanded. And I find myself seeing new fans of yours!"
"I know," he said, his smile waning for a second before forcing it back to his usual, cheerful one.
"Everyone's doing well; we have a new movie coming out, along with a few new songs for it! Everyone's been working so hard, but now that the production period is over, we have a small break before its premier!"
"I heard... Taboo Night XXXX, huh? Mama's reaction when she heard the -ehem- title was... let's just say... mixed." She pulled back with an amused grin. Mama Kotobuki wasn't sure whether to be excited that her son's popularity was rising enough to warrant the beginning of movies, or appalled and scandalized at the implication of the title.
Yuna chuckled. "Either way, that's all good to hear. I'm glad you all are getting a break. You all have definitely earned some time off. I'd like to argue that you all probably deserve more than you're getting., but who am I to debate with a company like that?"
"Pardon me sir, I understand you are in a hurry, but Kotobuki Bento prioritizes a first-come, first-serve policy. It will not take me more than three minutes to attend to the customers before you, so please wait your turn and I will assist you."
The amount of business men who think they have privilege to by pass the elderly regulars just because they flaunt their status and wealth is going to drive Yuna up a wall.
There was a stumbling and a few crashing of metal items before Yuna burst out from the kitchen area. Her gray eyes widened, then watered at the sight of her brother in the flesh. The only times she had really seen Reiji had been on T.V., social media, or the few-and-far-between video calls. "Rei-nii... REI-NI!!!!"
Seeing his sister barrel out of the kitchen and toward him with a tearful gaze left him startled.
"Are you alright, Yuna-chan?!" He quickly embraced her, hoping the gesture would slow her tears. "It's alright. I'm here."
"I'm b'okay." She sniffled, burying herself into his embrace happily. "It's been so long since you've been home! How are you? How is everyone? How is everything?"
@kanjo-no-koe (Reiji and Yuna!)
"YUNA-CHAN~! I'M HOME~!" Reiji called at the top of his lungs as he entered the small bento shop. It had been some time since he last stopped home, and now that he had a few days off from work, the idol decided to pay his family a visit.
